Cette construction récente (2012) spacieuse / 4 de bain maison de 3 chambres est situé sur 2 acres privés adjacents au volcan Arenal State Park. Chaque chambre a sa propre terrasse avec vue sur le vieil arbre Ceiba et une vue sur le volcan Arenal et le lac. L'aménagement ouvert permet brises fraßches de montagne de circuler à travers la maison. Profitez de loisir dans notre bar / salle de jeux et vous rafraßchir dans la piscine ou vous détendre dans le bain à remous avec vue directe sur la derniÚre face active du volcan. Idéal pour les groupes / familles (Sleeps 6-12 personnes). Profitez de plats cuisinés par notre chef personnel (disponible sur demande) ou de préparer votre propre création culinaire dans notre cuisine entiÚrement équipée. Service de nettoyage prévue sur deux jours. Service disponible sur demande de blanchisserie.

The house was simply amazing and our host was helpful, communicative and went above and beyond to ensure a good stay. The photos do not do justice to the inside of the home and it's cleanliness. The location is remote enough that you feel like a local and can get out of the crowds and hustle or La Fortuna, but close enough to get to activities in a timely manner. The home was well stocked with clean towels and bedding and the rooms and amenities were just as described, yet better!I cannot recommend this property enough. We were only a family of three but could easily have invited several friends. Perfect for large families!

Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area. The property was well maintained and very safe. It had a well stocked kitchen and plenty of towels for showers and poolside. Plenty of room for gathering inside and out. The pool and hot tub was a welcomed addition. Private balconies for each bedroom. It was absolutely amazing!

Beautiful location over seeing the landscape, volcano and lake. We enjoyed everyday of our stay. Great location, enjoy the pool everyday. The rooms were very nice and had ac, fortunately we didn’t need to really use them. Sliding doors made it nice to open and get natural air to come in and flow throughout the house. Such a beautiful hidden gem - incredible views of Lake Arenal, the volcano and the lovely grounds, including resident toucans in the trees!Jim’s home is perfect for a family or a group, with a pool and multiple balconies overlooking the property, lots of space to stretch out and kitchen amenities for making meals. Stephanie, the caretaker, lives next door and was incredibly responsive when we needed help. The home is very secure and quiet - the perfect oasis close to the Arenal National Park, hot springs and other adventure activities. It has a more remote feeling than staying in La Fortuna, so is perfect for those looking to get away from the typical tourist hot spot. Jim was incredibly communicative and had loads of great resources to share. The road up to the home can feel intimidating, but the views once there are more than worth it.

Great property and location

My wife and I stayed here with my parents and my brother and the space was perfect for us. The pool and hot tub were great and the view was absolutely breathtaking. The road up the hill to the property can seem a little intimidating at first but it's really not bad at all. The location is nice and secluded and close enough to La Fortuna without being too far. Overall we loved our stay here

Amazing

We stayed first week in March. The location and view was amazing. Beds were comfortable. Several good restaurants nearby and decent variety store for supplies at the bottom of the hill otherwise a 30 minute drive to the supermarket in Fortuna. The actual owner, Jim, is who you deal with and he was an amazing resource answering the many questions I had before coming and while there about local attractions. He provided super descriptive directions for the final part of the trip including pictures and even a video of the drive up the mountain. This came in handy when my phone ran out of power and we lost google maps use. Found the place without it easily. Didn’t really need 4 wheel drive but the extra clearance of an SUV probably helped as it is a bumpy road up the mountain but really no problem. The weather was great. Used the pool everyday. And it was nice to have Netflix and Apple Tv for the evenings. All in all we loved our stay there and would certainly stay there again if ever back in CR

Although a little out of the way from a lot of the activities we did the views from the house of the lake and the volcano were beautiful. Host was very responsive and provided a lot of good information for our stay. The only criticism that I would give of the house is the overall cleanliness. The kitchen was quite dirty. It didn’t appear that the countertops had been wiped off. The table cloth was stained as well as some other linens. The pots and pans were not great for cooking although they got the job done. Body wash was provided in bathrooms but no shampoo or conditioner. Would have been nice to have some beach towels available. Would also be a bonus to have access to a washer/dryer. Easy fixes. Overall great house and host.

Beautiful home!

I hate I can’t give this a 5/5 but feel like I would have wanted to know a few things. The road to get to the house was in TERRIBLE condition. We worried if we would make it each trip back up the mountain. Host did mention during our stay it is going to be worked on soon. However this should have been disclosed prior to our trip. The house is very nice and OMG the property landscaping is to die for. It is pretty isolated and off the beaten path though. Also the beds are hard as boards. Other than that the owner was very nice and if road is in good shape I would have stayed again.

Great stay for our family

This was a great rental option in the Arenal area. Jim the owner was very communicative from beginning to end. We were greeted in person by the host who went through some details about the house and overall stay. The property is kept immaculate (which is hard to do) from the grounds to the cleanliness of the house. We appreciated the little details such as throw blankets in the lounge sofa, extra towels and blankets, ping pong table, remodeled master bathroom to name a few. Yes some of the window screens need repairing (which I’m sure is a constant task) and the wifi could be stronger but this is by far the best rental option in all of our multiple trips to this area. We were very pleasantly surprised and only wished to have been able to stay longer. Bugs were not an issue as long as we kept lights to a minimum as it is a cloud forest after all. Lastly, there are a few reviews where complaints are noted about the caretaker of the property living onsite (building across from the house). Not only was she hardly visible during our stay but she also helped do some laundry for us. We are looking forward to booking this property again next year.

Magical vacation in Costa Rica

Our vacation stay in Costa Rica was an unforgettable experience, characterized by stunning views of the volcano and fantastic amenities. The privacy we enjoyed allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the serene and peaceful environment. The local wildlife was abundant and diverse; I was thrilled to add over 25 new birds to my life list. The beautiful flowers added vibrant colors to the landscape, enhancing the overall tranquility and beauty of our surroundings. It was a perfect blend of nature and comfort, creating a truly idyllic getaway. Moreover, the location was incredibly convenient for numerous adventures. We had easy access to exhilarating activities such as ziplining, exploring the Mistico Hanging Bridges, and the fascinating frog night tour (a must do in our opinion). The charming city of La Fortuna was also nearby, offering even more opportunities for exploration and enjoyment. This perfect combination of adventure and relaxation made our stay in Costa Rica truly extraordinary.

We enjoyed our stay but a few things need to be mentioned.

While the owner of this home was very kind, and communicative, we were a bit disappointed when we arrived to this house. Perhaps we didn’t look closely enough at the photos, with great detail. As other reviews mention, the views are quite beautiful. But unfortunately, the home itself could use some work. It’s very dated, and very dark, and the building that is on property, where Stephanie the house manager lives, is an eyesore to look at when you arrive to the house, or even look through the kitchen in the window. Served our purposes for our stay, but we had a driver with us, who we thought would be able to comfortably stay in the additional twin that was mentioned. Those additional beds are actually in a very uncomfortable daybed that’s located in the living room. so we ended up having to pay for a small cabin for him to stay nearby. There’s really not much going on in this small town of La Fortuna, so if we ever returned to the area, we would choose to stay closer to where the Hot Springs are, or the downtown area. It was not a 10 minute drive, it was more like a 25 minute drive. At the end of the stay here, we enjoyed the time in the area. But if I’m being totally honest, none of us would give this five stars. I’m sorry, but I felt that for the price, and the photos that were clearly focused very much on the pool and the view, this did not fit our expectation. If the rate was lower, that would likely change my view on the experience.

You'll hear many stories about people that visit Costa Rica and experience an epiphany or an awakening. That's what happened to us. We began searching for land in Aug 2010 and found the Old Ceiba Tree lot and we completed construction in the Fall of 2012. There is an energy that one can feel when you are there; it's indescribable but undeniable. Once you experience it, you'll be going back over and over.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

We designed the home to bring the outdoors and indoors together. There are floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors that open to lake and volacano views. The cool mountain breezes flow thoughout the home. The temperatures average about 75°F year round so no air conditioning is necessary (but optionally available in the bedrooms). We get our pure crystal clear soft water from a mountain spring ('naciente') that is about 6km in the virgin cloud forest. At night the temperatures typically drop about 10° and in December and January you might even need to put a fleece on to stay warm. Being on the edge of the rain forest, we get a lot of rain but if you wait an hour the weather will change and when the sun pops out be careful because you can get a sunburn even when the sky is overcast (ask Josie). Each room has a terrace facing the lake/volcano side of the house. Be prepared to rise early to the sounds of howler monkeys that frequently spend the night in our guarumo tree (a favorite hangout for all kinds of monkeys and birds) or the cacaphony of loras (red-lored parrots) that reside in the area.
