Located at the bottom of Fernwood in Topanga Canyon, this little oasis feels like a world away from the hustle & bustle of LA, yet is only 15 minutes from Santa Monica, 10 minutes from the beach, and 5 minutes to the nearest mountain trail.

Inside this cozy and simple bungalow you will notice an eclectic yet bohemian design aesthetic and a generous amount of natural light. The bedroom features a gorgeous Bali-style queen bed and small work station. The home also has a small sleeping loft with queen mattress above the living room. The tiny tiled bathroom features a large shower with bench. The small kitchen has the essentials you need.

Outside, you will find yourself immersed in an oasis of butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, hawks, and owls, with a serene terraced flower garden, wrap-around yard and ample privacy. Enjoy your coffee on the patio taking in the fresh canyon air. Grill out on our pellet grill and enjoy your dinner on our outdoor patio amidst the sights and smells of the garden.

The bungalow is equipped with a Smart TV, Wifi, and Nest x Yale SmartLock for easy yet secure access. Stay comfortable no matter the temperature with excellent AC/heat from a brand new split unit in living room - it cools the entire bungalow in the summer and heats the entire bungalow in the winter. Additional small fans and space heater also available. Plus, new eco window shades offer privacy while insulating the bungalow from the temperature outdoors, reducing AC/heat needs.

Walkable to a local hiking loop up the road. Or hop in the car to access 2 trailheads within 5-10 minutes drive. The space is undoubtedly peaceful in its natural setting, but it is not completely silent as the canyon rock can amplify neighbors and dogs.

No frills here, but a great deal for a simple and quiet getaway in the enchanted magic that is Topanga Canyon.

Guest Access:
The entire house and yard and is yours! Everything inside the wooden gate. Enjoy :)

Guests enjoy a designated parking spot on premise. Note that street parking is limited.

The Neighborhood:
Located in the Fernwood area of the Canyon, Montau Drive is one of the most grounded neighborhoods that maintains cooler temperatures due to its proximity to the ocean and the sheer volume of plants and trees that shade it, all while still showing off sweeping canyon views.

Favorite hikes you can drive to include Tuna Canyon Park, Red Rock Park, and Topanga Canyon Park.

The bungalow is a 4 minute drive to our local Mimosa Cafe. We also like Topanga Living Cafe and Cafe 27. Restaurants nearby also include Endless Color for pizza, the Canyon Bistro for burgers, the Inn at the Seventh Ray for a romantic evening in Topanga. On the PCH there is the Reel Inn for fish, Cholada's for Thai, Malibu Farm Pier Cafe for lunch, and Nobu for sushi in Malibu. There's even wine tasting at the Rosenthal Winery. All of these are within a 5 to 10 minute drive.

Culturally in Topanga there's Corazon for live music (5 minutes away), and the world famous Will Greer Theatre Botanicum (10 minutes), as well as special events happening all the time (check out fliers downtown).

The closest grocery stores nearby include the Topanga Canyon General Store, and the Canyon Gourmet (5 minute drive). Further away is Vons, Gelsons, Erewhon, Whole Foods, Ralph's, Trader Joes, and Costco.

Getting Around:
Enjoy the winding scenic drive up the canyon and through the small one lane streets of our neighborhood.

You can explore the neighborhood by foot to walk the loop (Observation to Grand View to Sischo and back down Observation) or the trail that takes you from the property around the neighborhood through the State Park to Kerry Lane with nice panoramic canyon views.

However, you will want a car or at least a bike to get around Topanga. Welcome to Canyon Life!
