Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for staying with us. We’re glad you found the house “overall a cool house” and that it comfortably accommodated two families of four. We designed this beach duplex with two separate units and full kitchens specifically so multi-generational groups and larger parties (up to 13) can spread out while still enjoying the shared spaces. A few notes on the location. This property has always offered direct water views of Lemon Bay and the Gulf. The open sandy lots in front (exactly as shown in our listing photos) have been there for years and actually enhance the panoramic view that many guests love. The beach access is literally about 30 seconds away, as described in the listing, and most guests find it very convenient. We’re happy you liked the beach gear. Regarding the kayaks, many guests use them successfully from the nearby launch, though we understand it’s not for everyone. As for the tiki bar, we’re sorry the mosquitoes were an issue during your stay. That can happen on calm summer evenings in Florida. Many other guests have thoroughly enjoyed the tiki bar and outdoor spaces. We were also happy to accommodate your request for a much earlier check-in (4 hours ahead of the standard time) at no extra charge. We try to be as flexible as possible for our guests. We’re pleased you had a good overall experience and hope you’ll consider returning in the future!

We're thrilled you loved the location, the gulf views from both patios, the furnishings, and how convenient it was for walking, biking, and golf carting to restaurants and coffee shops. It sounds like you made wonderful memories there. This is a raised stilt duplex (clearly shown in the photos and described in the listing), which is the standard design for homes this close to the beach. The units are separate for privacy as noted in the description: “This unique configuration allows everyone to be together on the property, but still have the ability to retire in complete privacy at any time.” We completely understand this setup isn’t ideal for everyone, and we’re glad the twenties group handled the stairs well. We regularly host multi-generational families from babies to grandparents without issue, but we always encourage guests to review the photos carefully before booking. It’s great to hear the beach chairs, towels, and ice chest were useful. Regarding towels, this duplex is stocked with 13 bath towels and 13 beach towels (stored in the linen closets). We provide that quantity specifically so guests have plenty without daily laundry, but we understand if the location wasn’t immediately obvious. Thanks for the 5 stars and wonderful review Tonya! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! If I may, I would just like to clear up a few things for potential guests so they are well informed. Google maps will confirm the walk from this house at 1105 Shoreview drive to the kayak launch at the entrance of Stump Pass State Park is just 4 minutes. We have three kayak carts that hold 2 kayaks each so six can paddle together at anytime. Our welcome packet provided prior to arrival states we do not supply open consumables like spices or condiments as it would be unsanitary to do so. Guests can expect, and we are glad to provide, all the Soap/shampoo, dish detergent, Windex, two rolls of paper towels, four rolls of toilet paper, garbage bags, sponges, dishwasher cubes, laundry detergent and a free use of our washer/dryers. They're all on site and free of charge. Our three story home is required to have staircases. They are not steep in anyway, and are all of standard height & width. We're so glad you enjoyed the fresh remodeling job and fantastic water views! Thank for staying with us and we hope to have you back again soon!

Thanks for the 5 stars and feedback! Not sure where you went to the beach or kayak launch but they are both located just inside Stump Pass State park at the end of our street. Just a 4 minute walk and definitely no need for a car. The carts and wagons we provide for the beach gear and watercraft make the walk a breeze. There are no houses at our beach. Just long pristine stretches of sand, jumping dolphin at the cut, and many interesting trails to the bay for your enjoyment. There are some houses to the north but you can still walk the entire length of Manasota Key with no restrictions. Our guests consistently walk the beaches there and find some of the most stunning prehistoric sharks teeth and shells in Florida. So glad you figured out how to use the Weber grills. They're fun to use and before you know it, the wonderful smells of grilling on vacation are in the air! We're so glad you found everything to be super clean and our check in process great!
