Relaxing vacation
We stayed at Condo Petunia which is part of the Hacienda de Mita development.
Property is well maintained and very large. We had a family of 7 stay, but definitely room for more (there was bedding for up to 13). We stayed in building 11, beautiful view of the golf course and could see the ocean over the trees. Buildings 1-4 are oceanfront.
Each building has its own pool (to share with 8 total units) - we only ever saw one family in our pool. This is a smaller pool but great for the kids as wasn't too deep and so convenient to just walk out. In addition to this pool, there is another pool and hot tub that is beachfront just for the Hacienda de Mita condos. They had drink service here but no food.
There was a well appointed kitchen, fantastic balcony with large lounge area. All bedrooms had an en-suite baths. Golf cart for 6 was included, we rented an additional 4 person cart as the development tells you not to have more than the correct number of passengers.
The beach at Hacienda de mita is pretty rocky - not a swimming area but people did paddle board out and was good for that. The beach is right next to properties in the village, and those areas are a bit run down (there was a small property with chickens roaming around). We overall didn't spend much time at that beach.
There are 3 beach clubs in the property. Some condos come with a resident's membership but that only gets you into one of the beach clubs (the Resident's club). Nice pool and restaurant. All chairs are on the sand (they limit the few chairs next to the pool to owners so renters are not allowed to have these seats). Beach is ok but not great for ocean swimming - rocky.
Our condo came with the premier membership - you get access to the resident's beach club, but then also to Kapuri and Sufi beach clubs. Kapuri is a larger club - large pool, kids club, small boutique, bar and restaurant. There were chairs by the pool and beach. Great long beach for a walk and swimming was the best here - overall very sandy. You can rent boogie-boards or paddle boards here. Sufi beach club is a small pool, chairs in the sand. Restaurant/bar. No beach here - there is a long pier to walk out but no ocean swimming here. Very glad we had the premier membership and if you have the option with the condo you rent would definitely make sure it has that membership.
Great running paths there - able to go every day. Casa teresa in city was lovely.
