The location was wonderful, quiet but still close to town. The hosts were very responsive. However, be aware that the home could use some updates and TLC -- the screens on the doors were ripped, some light bulbs did not work, the shower curtains were dirty, etc.

Great Place, Great Host

This spot worked out so well for our two families, and Jenny was always super easy to reach and super responsive. The back yard area was dreamy, the AC was heavenly, and the kitchen was really well equipped. Happy to recommend this place!!

Great Location in Ocean Beach

Perfect for my group of 7! We enjoyed the wood paneling, big yard, grill, and all the plenty of beach accessories. Super close to the Pantry and the bars and restaurants in Ocean beach, plus a very easy walk to the beach. Overall great value and enjoyable stay.

Great stay!

House location was amazing and house had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which was perfect for our group. Also a big beautiful backyard deck with table and chairs perfect for hanging out in the day/evenings! Glass screen door was broken we we arrived but I communicated with owner and she sent someone out the very same day! Communication was easy and quick and response time was even quicker. Would love to stay again, highly recommend!

Great location but property was not well maintained - there was trash all over the yard, the grill looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years, the beach umbrella was broken and the large deck umbrella shown in the listing did not exist. We also had to wait 45 minutes past check -in while cleaners finished.

I had never been to FI. I do have friends who live there. I don't think I will go back. Keeping that in mind: The stay was not cheap. I am aware that property is expensive there. A day or two of elbow grease would have made all the difference (in addition to screens that might actually not be broken and therefore might keep out the mosquitoes). I live in a virtual palace, but I clean it myself and know what it takes to take care of a home. A quick vacuuming and changing of the sheets is not enough. Wash the windows, clean under the mat in the bathtub, clean the GIANT SLIMY RANCID clump out of the bathtub drain/off the drain plug, scrub the kitchen sink. DO SOMETHING for the $ besides make a profit or pay the mortgage - your guests are paying for something too: a house that doesn't make you tiptoe and cringe.

Lovely home and experience!

What a wonderful host and home!! The listing was exactly as described. Lovely rooms, a spacious dining area and back deck, and stocked with all the beach goodies. We were even allowed to bring our family dog for a small fee. My sister wound up coming with her two children and there was plenty of room for everyone!! Check this cozy home out for your next family getaway!

Perfect home for a family vacation

The home is perfectly located. Just a short walk to ferry, playground, bay beach, ice cream stores, grocery store and the ocean. The large back deck (fenced in) keeps little ones safe and provides plenty of space to play. The house is well stocked with boogie boards, bicycles, sand toys. Jenny is a great host, attentive to requests. Her home is perfect for a low key family vacation.

A lovely place to stay

Jenny, the owner, is helpful and accommodating. Beautiful large deck. Great outdoor shower. Excellent location. The two bathrooms are on the ground floor, so if you are in the upstairs bedrooms you need to go down a steep set of stairs to get to them. But there are two bedrooms on the ground floor and the upstairs bedrooms may not be a problem for many people. All in all a lovely place to stay.

Perfect F.I. vacation home

The owners of this wonderful home put a great deal of thought into making it a perfect FI vacation spot for friends or family. It's better than the photos. The house is immaculately clean yet so comfy you feel at home as soon as you walk in. It's loaded with amenities including a range of bicycles for adults and kids , big screen TV with loads of channel choices and a pantry full of condiments (very convenient). The house is located just a couple of hundred feet from the food market and Ocean Beach shopping/restaurant/bar district. The walk to the beach is less than five mins. The Seaview market ( best mkt for meat and fish) and restaurants in Ocean Bay Park are also within walking distance. Honestly I couldn't have asked for anything more. Everyone in my party agreed and we all had a wonderful time. I hope to return in the future.

Great house and great location

We had such a great stay at Jenny's home. The house is perfectly located to town and the beach, i really dont think we could of asked for a better location. The house was clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for us and friends. The back deck was perfect for grilling and relaxing. We brought our dog and he was able to roam on the deck and was very at ease here (we think he was on vacation mode too!) Overall, we really had a great time here. The house was stocked with everything we needed, from bedding & towels to salt and pepper.

Perfect home for a family vacation

Jenny's home is reminiscent of the old Fire Island bungalows. Wood paneled walls, comfortable furniture , fireplace. The kitchen is the hub of the first floor, open to both living and dining areas. The bedrooms, 2 on first floor, 2 on second) are conveniently located, but private. There is an extensive back deck with plenty of room for little ones and or pets to run around. Just a five minute walk from the ferry, the property is located at the west end of OB, down the street from the Pantry (grocery store), Maguires and a bay front playground. The street is quiet, residential, a short walk to the Ocean. A special home is a special place. Our family was sad to leave.

Wonderful Fire Island Vacation Home

Jenny's house was perfect for our yearly family vacation on Fire Island. The house is even nicer than the pix show and the deck - WOW! eye popping incredible and huge. The kitchen was stocked with everything we forgot to bring and even more. I highly recommend the house!

Great House, Responsive Owner

My family stayed for a week in August 2021. The house was stocked with everything we needed and lots of little extras that made our vacation more enjoyable. And when we had any questions or minor issues, the owners promptly responded to us and addressed our concerns. I would highly recommend and would definitely rent this house again.

We had an awesome stay at Jenny’s home, a great spot less than 5 minutes from both the ferry and the beach. It comfortably sleeps 8 with four bedrooms (and 2 bathrooms), and was easy to plus up to 10 people given the living room couch is a pullout bed. The house also has a great back deck with an outdoor shower, and came with towels, bikes, beach chairs. Overall it was the perfect spot to enjoy a couple days on the island - plus Jenny was super nice and communicative. Highly recommend!

Solid, central, and stocked

I would absolutely recommend this house and hope to return in the future! This space was perfect for a big group that wants to chill, grill and enjoy Ocean Beach to the fullest. This house felt much sturdier and updated compared to other rentals in fire island. The cabinets are truly stocked with condiments and kitchen wares which was really helpful when we wanted to cook or prepare our own snacks/drinks. The house is about a 7 minute walk to the beach and about the same to the main strip of stores and the grocery store. My friends appreciated the long tables (indoors and outdoors), the pull out couches, and the beach chairs, which were perfect to fit our group of 8. The check in and out process was simple and Jenny was very communicative, even through the glitches in the VRBO app. We really had no complaints! We had an unforgettable weekend, especially thanks to this house!

Excellent location - great house

This was our 2nd time staying here. Loved it both times! Jenny is a wonderful host. The house is steps from town and a short walk to the beach. These is plenty of towels and everything you need for the kitchen. Backyard is large with ample seating. Cannot say enough about this place. Cannot wait to come back.

A nice house not far from town, or the beach,

Pros: Very easy to communicate with the owner. Close to beach/ Closer to town Very, very stocked kitchen. Lots of beach towels. Nice outdoor backyard space and BBQ. Three showers / 2 bathrooms Downstairs bed was very comfortable Good Air Conditioning A really nice washer/dryer. The washer was connected to the WiFi which was kind of interesting. Nice TV, good WiFi. A lot of stuff to use like carts, bikes, etc. Cons: (And maybe not all the fault of the owner, just circumstances) The cleaning people were still there when we got there at 4:15PM and came back a few times until after 6PM. Not sure they ever really finished as the kitchen wasn't that clean, and the laundry wasn't finished. The upstairs beds weren't that comfortable. Heavy rain woke up my daughter as water started pouring through the roof right onto her bed. The washer/dryer is outside the house, and was a bit of a pain on that rainy last day. The house was fine, as the Pros outweighed the Cons (IMO).
