À propos de cet hébergement
Roadrunner Ridge · Pool, Hot Tub, Boulders, Trails
Summary:
At the very end of the road, Roadrunner Ridge sits among boulders on five private acres beside more than 1,000 acres of protected land. Walk the trails from the property in the morning, unroll a mat in the yoga area, then swim the saltwater pool as the ridge turns gold. After dark, move to the saltwater hot tub and the fire pit lounge. A family-owned, Spanish-style modern home with three ensuite bedrooms. The road ends here; the land keeps going.
The Space:
Roadrunner Ridge is a family-owned, Spanish-style modern home tucked among boulders at the end of the road, on five private acres next to more than 1,000 acres of undeveloped protected land. Warm adobe-style walls, polished concrete floors, skylights and large windows frame desert and mountain views in every direction, and solar panels with LG batteries provide backup power. Outside are an in-ground saltwater pool and hot tub, a propane fire pit lounge, a hammock, a yoga area and walking trails. With three ensuite bedrooms and a sofa bed, it suits families and groups of up to eight. Follow the walking trails out at dusk and look back at the house among the rocks.
-Highlights-
► In-ground saltwater pool (a heating fee applies in cooler months)
► In-ground saltwater hot tub with no heating fee
► 5 private acres with walking trails, next to protected public land
► Boulder formations and stargazing in a dark sky zone
► Propane fire pit lounge and propane BBQ grill
► Hammock on the covered patio, multiple seating areas and outdoor dining
► Private yoga area with mats, and cornhole
► Spanish-style modern design with large windows
► Fully stocked kitchen with a breakfast bar and Joshua Tree Coffee Co. coffee
► Three bedrooms, each with a renovated ensuite bathroom
► Solar panels with LG battery backup
► Central heating and cooling and high-speed Wi-Fi
-Outdoor Amenities-
Start early on the walking trails that wind through the five acres, past boulder formations with the protected land stretching beyond. Back at the house, unroll a mat in the yoga area, then claim a lounger beside the in-ground saltwater pool, with the ridge and the mountains in view. The hammock under the wood-beamed covered patio is made for an afternoon nap.
As the sun drops, fire up the propane BBQ and eat at the outdoor dining table beside the house, or toss a few rounds of cornhole. Then gather in the Adirondack chairs around the propane fire pit, set among the boulders, and finish in the saltwater hot tub as the stars fill the dark sky.
-Living Area-
The open living space flows into the dining area and kitchen, with polished concrete underfoot, skylights overhead and large windows showing views in every direction. Spanish-influenced decor, a guitar on the wall and a leather sofa keep it warm and lived-in, and the TV is ready for movie night. Sliders open straight to the covered patio, and a Koala sofa bed opens into a queen bed for extra sleeping space.
-Kitchen and Dining-
Wood cabinets, stainless appliances and generous counter space make the modern kitchen easy for cooking together, and it is fully equipped, with Joshua Tree Coffee Co. coffee for the first pot. Pull up a stool at the breakfast bar, then gather around the dining table for eight beneath its pendant lights, with the desert framed in the windows. An additional dining space sits on the side of the home, plus outdoor dining by the BBQ.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
The home has three bedrooms with one king and two queen beds. The primary suite pairs the king bed and a jute rug with glass doors facing the backyard, a reading chair and an ensuite bathroom with a double vanity. The two other bedrooms each have a queen bed and a remodeled ensuite bathroom, one with a macrame hanging and a desk, the other with geometric wood art and a tub and shower. One can be set up Jack-and-Jill style for families. All bathrooms are newly renovated. The living room sofa bed opens into a queen.
-Surrounding Area-
Downtown Joshua Tree is close by for local cafes, boutiques and markets, and the park's West Entrance is an easy drive for rock formations, desert landscapes and hiking trails. La Copine and Giant Rock Meeting Room in Flamingo Heights make a good night out. Then it is back to the end of the road and the quiet.
Guest Access:
The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.
There is also an Airstream trailer on-site owned by the family; it is vacant and locked.
The Neighborhood:
Roadrunner Ridge is in a quiet, private area of Joshua Tree where homes are spread across acreage, with open views and seclusion while still close to local attractions. The last 1.4 miles to the home are dirt roads.
