A wonderful house

I loved the private ocean beach!! The kitchen is very tiny and after a couple weeks it was difficult. (I was there for the month of August) The owners were responsive when they could be. No internet and tv for the last 10 days was difficult (knocked out because of Hurricane Henri) The house is very comfortable. The front porch is wonderful. It has a seating area and an eating area. The house is exactly as described.

Charlestown Beach

We really enjoyed this property. It was a little difficult to find our parking spot at the beach but the beach was beautiful. We had to buy pillows and the kitchen was more like an efficiency but the house was really cute and perfect for two people or a family with small kids.

Great rental with private beach.

The house was very comfortable and well maintained. The private beach parking was amazing and literally 50 feet from the ocean.

Quiet, cozy, and clean with outstanding beach access

We had a wonderful stay in this sweet little cottage. The space is sunny and cheery inside, and we especially enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch with the symphony of birds. The beach parking and private access spoiled us, and we spent much more time enjoying the ocean because of this ease and convenience than we might have otherwise. The owners are friendly and communicative without being overbearing. This was truly one of the best vacations we've had!

Loved our private beach and quiet gettaway

This house was beautiful. Nice porch to relax on at the end of the day. The outdoor shower was a treat. The inside was very up-to-date and perfect fit for our 4 person family. The designated parking space on the private section of the beach made us feel like VIPs. Communicating with the owner was easy. Highly recommend this house. We'll be back again.

Small but cozy and beachy with private beach access.

This cottage is at the end of a quiet street. There is a very nice covered front porch with comfortable new outdoor furniture that we used to have our morning coffee or for an early evening glass of wine. The interior is decorated in beach theme and is very cozy. There is an A/C in the living room that also blows directly into the kitchen which keeps most of the cottage cool. There is a washer and dryer in the basement (which can be accessed using the outside basement doors). The cottage offers access to a private beach area with private parking for two cars (tight but doable). That was a huge plus. The owners were very nice and easily accessible if there were any questions. The only drawback we came across was that we felt the master bedroom mattress was extremely uncomfortable - very soft and lumpy, although it was supposedly a newer mattress. Other that that, it was a really cute place to stay for a week in the summer.

Very special.

We have rented Charlestown houses through VRBO for several years now, but this was the best so far. The owner was unusually reachable and responsive to any one of our calls or questions throughout our 2-week stay, and went out of his way to be helpful. The house is on a cup-de-sac and far enough away from Charlestown Beach Road to be completely quiet. The house was air conditioned, clean, and comfortable, although the kitchen was a bit small and not exactly outfitted for gourmet cooking. We mostly relied on the barbecue just outside the kitchen door which was fine. The biggest bonus however was the private parking spot and deck right at the beach, which made going to the beach a breeze - no long walk with beach chairs, umbrella and cooler, no worrying about a filled parking lot. We took daily walks just up the road to a great bakery, ice cream store, and farm-stand market where we bought incredible fresh-caught fish that came in every day, and the owners will run up to you as you leave to give you fresh herbs from their garden. We're regulars in this part of Charlestown and this house is a definite "we'll come back."

Loved the peace and quiet of the beach house. So very comfortable!! Would gladly come again.

Charlestown is a very laid back quaint community. Loved the supermart with the home baked goodies. We only had 1 sunny day but thoroughly enjoyed the private parking on the beach. Hated to leave!

Lovely Cottage

We really enjoyed this cottage. Clean, bright comfortable and perfectly decorated to put you in beach vacation mode! Just a few minutes to the beach, the private parking & deck made beach runs super easy. We spent a few hours during the day for swimming & returned each evening for sunset. We would definitely consider a return visit.

Best beach vacation ever

We loved the cottage from the moment we walked through the door! It was so clean and so cute. The location could not have been better. It was so close to the beach and shopping. The neighborhood has a great bakery, deli, restaurant and ice cream shop. The parking space and deck made a day at the beach so easy and relaxing. We enjoyed several perfect beach days on the private beach. The location also made it easy to take day trips to Watch Hill and Block Island. We would definitely do it all again.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage...highly recommended

Rented cottage 6/26/16-7/2/16. Cottage was refurbished recently. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The included and separate beach dune lot with private parking a short distance away was a great addition. The cottage is located at the end of a quiet, secluded street yet it’s a short distance from restaurants and stores. However if you‘re coming from long distance flights away, inquire about whether sheets and towels are provided with your stay. We highly recommend this cottage and look forward to staying there in the future.

My wife and I inherited this unique property from our father in-law. Along with our son, we enjoy sharing the Charlestown experience with our guests. My wife grew up vacationing on the private beach and enjoying the area.

We also own several other rental properties which we have bought and remodeled. As such, we have become known for providing high quality housing to discriminating renters. We take great pride in our properties and strive to ensure that each guest enjoys the best possible experience with our rental properties.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

This property offers the experience of direct water front access at half the cost of a waterfront cottage. The private beach was actually a private building lot that once has a house which was destroyed during the hurricane of the 1930's that devastated the area. My wife's father in-law purchased the vacant parcel from a fisherman in the early 1970's and improved the existing parking area and deck. Shortly thereafter, regulations went into effect prohibiting parking areas or other structures on the dunes.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

A grandfathered piece of direct water front property that offers a private deck, beach and parking for up to two vehicles. This was the first parcel in the area to be improved to preserver the dunes with the installation of boardwalk and fencing. It is the only piece that has all three of these improvements which makes for a convenient and enjoyable day at the beach. Just drive up, park and enjoy the ocean!

The cottage is the second to last house of a deadened dirt road which make for a relaxing experience. Though it is less than a mile from the private beach. Our family is in the business of rentals and renovations. As such, this cottage received a complete make over when it was acquired in the early 2000's.
