From the beginning of searching for a place to stay until our departure this host and the property exceeded our expectations. The location IS great, with easy access to the Rome Metro system. The food in the restaurants near the property were fantastic enticing us to make repeat visits. Now, the host. GINO has gone WAY BEYOND the call of duty in order to make your stay as comfortable and seamless as possible including a “book” he’s put together to guide occupants through tours, eating, shopping and a slew of other vacation topics. The UNIT is quaint, not MODERN, but very livable with its vast amount of bathrooms and shower options. The amenities in the unit are almost comparable to a time share. The beds were comfortable. The unit included European coffee makers and grounds. Condiments in the fridge, a washer. Taking out the trash and recycling is an effort but, who cares. There’s an OLD elevator but, it worked well. There’s an options for a Rome night windshield tour and photo opportunity with ALDO for a set fee. We were not disappointed. The four of us were very pleased with our stay at the Spanish Steps and would certainly return to have Gino be our host. NOTE: If, you’re looking for a modern 4 star HOTEL you’ll be disappointed. If, you enjoy local charm with a great host this is your place!
