Welcome to Big House Colosseo, you are in the central Via Merulana which connects the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore to the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, along the Monti and Esquilino districts. The ideal location to immerse yourself in the charm of the historic center and in the heart of a thousand-year-old history. From here you can easily reach the most iconic attractions of the city, you are a few minutes walk from the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill.
Our holiday house is located in a majestic and elegant building dating back to the early twentieth century, once owned by the famous financial mathematician Francesco Paolo Cantelli, with a large wooden door that opens onto a magnificent entrance with the marble stairs. The spacious and comfortable rooms are decorated with beautiful Roman cement tile floors in Floral Style, which with their vintage charm give that touch of uniqueness to the rooms. Beautiful and spacious. Had everything we needed and the beds were the most comfortable of our multiple stop trip. The other tenants of the building were kind and friendly too, smiling at us as we came and went. Close to a lot of things which was nice too.

The property was as listed. Great spot close to everything and very clean. The WiFi was super fast and all the amenities were top rate. Our host was very fast at answering any questions we had. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Rome.

Good location, 15 minute walk from Colosseum, 15 minute walk from Termini station. The property was clean and well equipped, Benny the host was very helpful and quick to respond. We recommend the going the golf buggy tour, we booked through Crown Tours located near to the Colosseum.

Benito was amazing! Communication was well above average. Property location was great! About a 10-15 minute walk to the Colleseum. It was a quiet street that my niece could run every morning. Very safe feeling.

It was a very hot in July (100 degrees) so we were worried our accommodatiobs would not have AC. Benny had a portable AC in each bedroom.He let us drop off our luggage before checkin b/c we had an appointment to do a holf cart tour and didn't want to bringbour luggage.The place is so veautiful with a l9cely courtyard in the middle of the apartments and so many places to just walk to for eating, touring and shopping.LOVELY!!! BELLA!!!

We were invited to dropped our luggage off at 10:30 am which was great as had arrived early that morning. Right outside front door was cafe where we could get breakfast. Loved the huge kitchen that seated 8 people so plenty of room for the 4 of us. All 3 bedrooms were lovely and nice size. Easy walk to transportation restaurants grocery stores and the coliseum. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Our host was amazing and responded very quickly to all our questions

If I could give this home and host 6/5 stars, I would!!! One of the best stays we’ve ever experienced. Benny was extremely communicative, kind, proactive, flexible and accommodating. The apartment was in pristine condition and fully stocked with paper towels, soaps, teas, umbrellas and many other helpful items. The location is excellent - very close to many restaurants and shop options. Although there is no in-unit washer, it is right next to a reasonably priced laundromat. If you enjoy walking, it is an enjoyable and safe walk to some of Rome’s biggest landmarks: Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish steps, etc. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you Benny!

Our stay here was pleasant, Benny the host was very responsive and communicated with us throughout our stay. The apartment itself is conveniently located to some main sightseeing attractions especially the colosseum. It is spacious and clean with enough rooms for our family of 6. Our only issue was that with younger kids. Ours being two and almost one when it came to nighttime their running affected the neighbors downstairs. This ended up being a bit of a sore point in our trip as it was not something we can control with a toddler. Our host was understanding but the downstairs neighbor kept complaining. Our kids ended up getting sick and really fussy in the evenings and things escalated a bit but by this time we were about to leave. All in all the apartment and host itself was great but may not be the best for a family with young kids.

What a gem this apartment is, I honestly couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay for our family trip to Rome. From the moment we booked Benny made sure that we had everything we needed, from transport from the airport to fresh towels halfway through it stay, nothing was too much trouble and he was always on hand should be need anything. The apartment was clean, quiet and located within easy walking distance of the main sites (the colleseum is literally around the corner... Which is a view I miss already!). There are also a number of metro stops nearby, so getting around couldn't be easier. The area felt really safe, even at night and there are some great little cafes nextdoor should you want to grab some food on the go. I honestly cannot praise Benny enough for making sure our stay was perfect, a more perfect host would be hard to find.

There was no washer in the unit. AC was in the bedrooms only. Elevator is tiny. There is a laundry service just outside the building, great service but pricey. Host asked us to be quiet so that neighbors wouldn't complain. Some windows would not close completely to secure the property. Location was perfect. Nice little neighborhood and easy to get to public transportation. It's worth a stay, but don't expect a comfortable temp in the bathrooms or common areas.

Dear Mckenzie, thank you for your review and for appreciating the location. I am sorry that you did not carefully read the listing at the time of booking, as it does not mention a washing machine. I do not understand why you expected to find one! You stayed in an elegant building from the early 20th century; it is standard practice to ask guests to avoid making noise, as you are on the third floor of an apartment building. We currently have no record of any windows that fail to close properly. The elevator holds two people at a time, but it is there! There is no space in the bathrooms for portable air conditioning units, and we are not permitted to install external compressor units. Our top priority is ensuring our guests get a good night's sleep during periods of intense heat.

Outstanding service, but note the property layoutThe property manager, Benny, here is fantastic. On our first night, the air conditioner in our bedroom did not work upon arrival. Even though it was late, Benny was incredibly responsive and came by at 10:00 PM to try and fix it. When he couldn't fix it that night, he completely replaced the unit the very next day. The new AC worked perfectly for the rest of our stay. We truly appreciated his dedication to making things right! The first night was very tough and hot, which caused us to lose a full night of sleep and cut our sightseeing short the next day due to exhaustion. However, the manager's quick action completely turned the situation around. For future guests, it is helpful to know the layout of the home:AC Setup: There is no central AC for the rest of the house; instead, each bedroom has its own individual AC unit.Bathroom: The door to the smaller bathroom does not close properly and has no lock, which can affect privacy if you are traveling with a group.

The apartment was in a perfect location. 10-minute walk to the Colosseum with restaurants, atm, grocery stores and pharmacy within a block or 2. There was plenty of space for our group of 6. The apartment was super clean and stocked with what we needed for our stay. I wish we would have stayed much longer. It was comfortable and quiet. We always felt secure with the large doors going into the apartment building having a key code. Benny was so helpful. I was a little concerned about the best way to get to the apartment from the airport. His recommendations were perfect. I can't say enough about Benny and the apartment. Perfecto!
