Casa Flores on Flamingo’s North Ridge is a newly remodeled 5-bedroom, 4-bath beauty on a hillside with stairs to a secluded beach. Large windows and a vaulted roof create an airy, bright feeling, with green tropical trees outside the windows and fabulous ocean views.



The Space:

The tastefully furnished, air-conditioned living room features modern art and a widescreen TV. The kitchen is fully equipped, with stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops and bar, and white cabinets.



The master bedroom, on the same level as the living room and kitchen, features plush bedding, air conditioning and a TV. The other four bedrooms include a second master bedroom that opens on the deck of the swimming pool. The home sleeps up to 10 people.



One of these rooms also opens on this deck, where you can relax in lounge chairs and soak up the sunshine. The pool deck can also be accessed from the exterior of the house down a garden path.



Among the home’s most unusual features is a stairway that leads from the pool deck down to a secluded beach where very few people have access.



Be advised that because of its cliffside location, Casa Flores is not ideal for children under 5, or for anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs.



Venturing out from Casa Flores, Flamingo

Playa Flamingo is one of the prettiest beach towns in all of Costa Rica, with a stunning seascape full of pretty islets and two hilly peninsulas, including the North Ridge, where Casa Flores is located.



Flamingo actually has two beaches — Playa Potrero and Playa Flamingo — and it’s about a four-block walk from one to the other. The small downtown area has several restaurants, a grocery store, a pharmacy and other shops, while the other side of the main road consists entirely of protected mangroves.



A world-class marina recently opened in Flamingo, which is well-known for water sports including fishing, scuba diving and sunset cruises with snorkeling. Adventure tours available nearby include ziplining, horseback riding, ATV rentals, wildlife sanctuaries and turtle tours.



For a large family or group of friends, Casa Flores in Flamingo sleeps eight and makes an ideal base to explore Costa Rica’s Gold Coast.

The Neighborhood:

Flamingo is a high-end beachfront community notable for its dazzling ocean views and the beautiful, hilly peninsula that juts out into the Pacific, separating Playa Potrero from Playa Flamingo.

Flamingo is home to a wide array of stunning homes and vacation rentals, as well as humbler lodging options, and it has restaurants, grocery stores, banks and other conveniences.

A brand-new, state-of-the-art marina opened to the public in 2022, with slips for yachts and fishing boats, condos for rent and all kinds of shops and restaurants. Other major developments here include the 360 Splendor del Pacifico luxury condominiums on top of the North Ridge, the Margaritaville Beach Resort, and the upscale Mar Vista housing development, where there’s an excellent private school called La Paz.

Good restaurants in town include the Coco Loco, a beachfront eatery known for its coconut drinks and standout cuisine; Marie’s, a reliable standard with a long and enticing menu; Angelina’s, featuring fine Italian dining in an elegant environment; and several options at the Margaritaville, including the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill.

Flamingo was largely developed by foreigners, and it lacks the traditional Costa Rican downtown with a soccer field plaza, church and school. The heart of town is an upscale commercial plaza with stone steps, fountains, restaurants and shops. Farther away on the road to Brasilito, you’ll find smaller restaurants, hotels, banks, hardware stores and the Super Massai grocery store.

Flamingo is more or less the centerpiece of a beautiful coastline stretching from the Reserva Conchal resort in the south to the Las Catalinas resort in the north, with the more traditional Costa Rican towns of Brasilito and Potrero in between. Flamingo is within easy striking distance of several beaches, including Conchal, Flamingo, Potrero, Penca, Prieta, Pan de Azucar and Danta.



Getting Around:

Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.



We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.



Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour. Our information brochure will provide you with useful information on local transportation options and points of interest, as well as contact information for taxis and shuttles.

Special Places of Costa Rica is committed to protecting our properties and complying with short-term rental regulations, which is why all guests are required to complete an independent verification with our trusted partner, TRUVI, before check-in. You will be contacted via email, text, or app notification with instructions to complete this process. As part of the verification, you will need to choose between paying a refundable security deposit (which includes a non-refundable 2% processing fee) or purchasing a non-refundable damage waiver, which protects you in case of accidental damage during your stay. We strongly recommend the damage waiver, as it provides peace of mind and avoids tying up funds with a deposit. Both the TRUVI verification and your selection of either the deposit or the damage waiver must be completed prior to your arrival.
