It was not worth the money spent. Don’t let the photos fool you. Lack of responsive from property owner, the wifi never worked (it was only 2G and 5G) - since the wifi didn’t work we didn’t have access to the TV either and there was stains on the mattress cover and sheets. Would not recommend staying here.

A troubleshooting disaster

The idea of this place is amazing. Tidy apartment 2 blocks from the beach with parking. However nothing actually worked appropriately. The Internet was in and out at all times and therefore the slow smart tv also did not work. Trying to relax on the couch was a battle with the remote regressing and looking for network connection . Additionally for more than half the stay the shower was a drip and the toilet did not have water. We had to fill a bucket in order to pour into toilet in order for it to flush. We had to all walk back to the beach to use there outdoor showers. I feverishly wrote to the VR “host” which was slow and u receptive answering in ridiculous platitudes. Finally at 10 pm I got a call from building manager stating they fixed the water. The parking lot had a dumpster and a pile of rocks limiting access. The nonchalant non committal reception with any complaint or question was highly frustrating. I love rockaway beach and had fun in spite of overpaying for a shotty mediocre dump. Wouldn’t recommend it. It was priced as a nice apt and was really a 2 star motel experience. I’ve attached pictures of the dry toilet and drip of a shower. NEVER aaGAIN

Great for a couple of nights

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was perfect for what we needed but would not stay more than 2 nights. Good location, easy to park and to walk to local places. Both bedrooms have full size beds that weren’t that comfortable. Luckily the trundles were there in both rooms even though we didn’t request them so we could all fit. I think a queen size is advertised for one of the rooms. This should really be corrected. I slept on the bed and my husband slept on the trundle. Not comfortable for a man that weighs 250 pounds. Probably not comfortable for anyone over 150 pounds honestly. If your young and not concerned about comfort while you sleep it’s perfect and the themed rooms were cute. But if you’re a little picky about comfort just beware.

The High Tide Room 3 - Great Location at a Great Price

We had a great stay at the High Tide for our family of 4, just a few minutes walking distance from popular Beach 98. It was clean, comfortable, well maintained. Great communication from management. There is a ton of great food spots all over Rockaway Beach and the High Tide is close to many of them (recommend Uma's, Claudette, Roasters, Bungalow Bar, Tacoway Beach, the decadent frozen pina colada at Connelly's, and pretty much everything at Beach 98 and Beach 105). The description informed us that the High Tide is located on a busy street - we have stayed in this part of Rockaway before so we were well-prepared but we did hear lots of street noise, especially in the evenings and from planes taking off and landing in such close proximity to JFK. If you are very sensitive to sound you'll definitely want to bring ear plugs or a noise machine. They do provide ear plugs but I'd recommend extra-sensitive ears to bring their own. Overall a great and relaxing beach vacation, would definitely recommend to others.

Adventure awaits

I wanted to love this cute place so much and all of us were looking forward to exploring NYC and enjoying the beach from here. It's in a great location to both sides of Rockaway and the beautiful boardwalk, shopping and restaurants and bars. The major and huge issue with The High Tide Hotel is its location over the island's loudest bar. It has a horrible head banging noise situation. The band speakers are positioned at the ceiling and thumped through the floors till 3am every night. This place provided an abundance of ear plugs (hint hint) which were USELESS against the bass player. I love rock and music of all kinds but I wasn't there to party. If you want to be at the beach and party till 3am this is the place for you. The rental agreement stipulates "quiet hours" and "no parties or gatherings", which are going on outside of the place until early morning hours, so that's funny. I did not look forward to getting back to the room every single night. For a place that is actually a hotel, the distractions and limitations of this place are endless: no coffee pot, no wash cloths, no hair dryer, no light blocking curtains. There are no cups of any type and no iron. No towel exchange after five days nor garbage pick up. No lamps, and no closets nor places to set suitcases. I took sheets from the trundle bed to put on the couch bed, although the listing is for 7. Broken plug outlets, bathroom sink lamp light bulb not working, and my towel had a huge worn hole. There's a bare light bulb in the ceiling fixture. The heater did not work but the air conditioning is great when you need it. There's no microwave which is standard in hotels, plus, no television service (which we resolved after contact with VRHost). The entire place place was clean and tidy. Shampoo, conditioner, bath gell and hand soap were provided. I liked the way they have designed the entrance to the front door. The bar is quite attractive and well -kept and had the best tacos I have ever eaten. My suggestion...Provide a modicum of hotel quality amenities and fix the issues I have listed. And most importantly, someone should work with the bar to at least relocate the band speakers.

Conveniently located

The vibe was great!!

This was the perfect spot for a quick getaway, and only a block from the beach! The space was extremely clean and tidy, beds were comfortable, bathroom felt brand new, and the neighborhood is great. I will definitely be coming back here. Thanks again.
