Grandma’s House

This property is in an excellent location with walking to restaurants and downtown. The property was clean but very dated. Historic in this case means OLD. Old furniture, doors that don’t close properly, kitchen that is not set up for cooking, lumpy bed and generally old stuff. It resembles my grandma’s house in the 1960’s.

The property does not look like the pictures or as it is described. I was quite surprised at how rundown the outside was compared to properties in the area. Street numbering was not visible and it is a multi unit home. It is overgrown with weeds, and the two porch areas that are common areas for sharing were filthy. The inside was clean however, the single bathroom was undesirable. A big clawfoot tub with an old shower curtain surrounding it, with multiple doors eliminated any chance for privacy. Parking is terrible. Front street parking is fine but accessibility to the front door entry/porch is difficult because it has not been maintained. They have put a gravel lot in the back however, no clear property, lines, and overgrown weeds makes it difficult to not get blocked in by another tenant. I usually do not do reviews. I did take time to do this one because unfortunately space this was the worst part of my weekend in Greenville South Carolina.

Disappointing Property Re: Cleanliness and Upkeep / Close to BJU

The living room is not layout as pictured (furniture very different). Property was not clean (had to wipe out frig before putting items in - no cleaning supplies handy, sticky in front of frig, lots of cobwebs in windows, very very dusty under beds, fly in window where dining room table sat). Place needs a very extreme spring clean. Bathroom needs an update. The shower curtain appeared to be a blanket. Dirty. I didn't feel comfortable showering but did the last day. Wall behind toilet dirty with ? Don't want to mention. Floor in bathroom not installed properly and coming apart. Under bed in middle bedroom.....so so dusty underneath...and trash. Sorry, telling the truth. Kitchen was nice layout.

Lovely place to stay!

The apartment was charming, clean, and provided us easy access to downtown Greenville. Great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Just what we were looking for.
