The Green Gecko was clean and comfortable. We expected the pool to be fairly warm from the summer heat, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was cool. Perfect for cooling off from the heat. There was a nice cool breeze underneath the building by the pool. The property location is perfect if you want to be close to the busy part of town but just far enough away for some peace and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. There were a couple of minor issues. The only reason I mention it is so I can compliment the VERY quick responses and resolutions. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a blast! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook breakfast and grill dinner. We really enjoyed the outdoor area! There was no propane in the grill when we got there but they quickly replaced the tank for us. The pool was fabulous and we really enjoyed using the TV outside to watch the NBA Finals! We never felt unsafe during our stay. We visited two different beaches in town and both were just a quick five minute drive from the house. We’d stay again and recommend to friends and family :)

It's great to hear the kitchen had you covered for everything from breakfast to grilling dinner, and that the outdoor area was such a highlight. Catching the NBA Finals poolside on the outdoor TV sounds like the perfect way to unwind, and we love that both beaches were just a quick drive away. As a first time snowbird from Minnesota, who booked this last January on a whim in a prayer I could not have been more happy with our stay in Port A and at Green Geko. Location is fantastic, house was fantastic, avantstay was fantastic all to the point of we plan on staying longer next winter and actually purchasing our forever home on the island. My daughter and I were alone for 3 weeks when my husband had to head back for work and never once did we feel unsafe, great location, and safe location for fellow moms and daughters to take trips to.

We had a couple of hiccups with the trip but in general, we loved the house and would love to stay here again. The best part of the whole place is the space under the house! Its so relaxing and fun!

Awesome experience!

We enjoyed our stay! Home was super clean and pool was sparkling. Everything was in perfect order! Check in process is super easy and we had no complaints or concerns during our visit. Close to beach access and quiet at night. Plan to stay again!

Weekend Get Away

We really enjoyed staying here and would stay again. Easy access to the property after the short ferry ride. Enough parking for 4 large vehicles. House was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Nicely decorated. The patio is really nice with plenty of seating everyone. Our stay was short and during spring break; for the most part neighbors followed the quiet time rule.

Great long weekend in port A

The green gecko provided our family with a great home base while in Port A. We enjoyed the extra touches like the welcome swag, olive oil, higher quality salt and pepper, 12 beach towels, toiletry boxes, outdoor shower, and awesome outdoor living space with pool. Having a completely enclosed backyard is great for those with pets or young kids. I’d highly recommend the Green Gecko to other guests looking for a Port A getaway.

Green Gecko

My work colleagues and I decided to have an off site sales meeting and stayed at the Green Gecko. The property has well kept and clean. The pool was great after a morning of catching fish. The experience was smooth from start to finish and will definitely be recommending the Green Gecko to anyone looking to stay in the Port A area.

The property itself was lovely but there were issues. The AC thermostat ran continuously even though we replaced the batteries twice, the ice machine was frozen solid, the picnic table was broken and the gas grill did not work.

Very nice with extra outdoor space

Perfect space for 3 moms and 3 teenagers! Safe nice neighborhood where the teenagers had they own space outside complete with games TV pool and fridge. They were happy while the moms stayed cool and got to talk in peace and quiet inside. Everyone had their own space and TVs in every room for alone time. Close to the beach and no issues!! Highly recommend!

Beautiful home, but location listing is incorrect

We stayed at this beautiful home for 3 nights and had no complaints of the home itself! It was brand new, very clean and decorated beautifully! There was no lack in attention to detail that was put into this home. However, if you look at the map on the listing it shows the home is in Cinnamon Shores (which we were trying to stay originally). It didn’t take us long to realize the address listed versus the address on the map didn’t line up. Although we thought we were staying closer the the beach we still enjoyed our stay and we would definitely book this home again!

We recently stayed at Green Gecko for four nights and overall had a very positive experience. The property was exactly as advertised, and both the VRBO and AvantStay teams were prompt, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the booking process and during our stay.The home was clean, well-maintained, and stocked with the amenities we needed. The kitchen was well equipped, which made it easy to prepare meals, and we were able to take full advantage of the outdoor grilling area during our stay. The layout and outdoor spaces made it a great place to relax and spend time with family and friends.The only issue we encountered was related to a storm that had passed through the area the week before our arrival. The storm had apparently caused electrical issues that affected the outdoor fan, TV, and refrigerator. The local maintenance team responded quickly and came out to reset everything. While they were able to restore most of the equipment, it was ultimately determined that the outdoor TV may have been permanently damaged, so we were unable to use the TV by the pool and patio during our stay.Although it was disappointing not to have access to that amenity, we appreciated the quick response and efforts from the maintenance team to troubleshoot the issue. Given that the problem was storm-related and outside of the property’s control, it did not significantly impact our overall experience.Overall, Green Gecko provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
