Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and retreat to this mountain vacation, cabin near Boone! The newly remodeled cabin features a screened porch, hot tub, fire pit, gazebo and a sparkling half-mile of creek access, all on 122 serene acres of forested beauty! Spend your days driving Blue Ridge Parkway, exploring the charm of Wilkesboro or Boone, hiking trails, or simply relaxing at your mountain retreat. We just went direct with Airbnb,. The prior 2 years we attained a 4.89 rating.

As you turn onto our road, Fall Creek Road, you are immediately thrown into a scenic, beautiful forest, following along the creek for two miles. It's only 7 minutes off the highway to the cabin.

Getting around is simple and scenic. You will primarily head back to Highway 421 and head either north or south. We will send you ideas for places to visit and activities you might enjoy.

Gorgeous property close to Sky Retreat

We came for a wedding at Sky Retreat and made a long weekend out of the trip. The property is gorgeous and dogs had a blast. Cabin was clean and well stocked. The screened in porch is amazing! We enjoyed our time at the house so much. My only suggestions for improvement, and mind you, I’m still giving 5 stars for everything, is to have one of the king beds not be memory foam/squishy, for us older folk with back issues or stomach sleepers. And, consider replacing the small main couch. None of this bothered us to any degree. I simply can’t sleep on memory foam well. Thanks to Paul for his amazing hospitality and to Ricky and team for a super clean cabin! We hope to return later this summer!

The cabin was beautiful and well kept. The communication was absolutely superb and I will 100% be booking with them again. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to do it again.

Wow!

The property was absolutely beautiful! The description is spot on and the pictures do not do it justice. Any and everything you need is inside, the fire pit was awesome as was the hot tub!

Beautiful escape to the woods

My family and I rented this cabin for a long weekend and it was the perfect getaway. The cabin feels secluded and is set back from the road so our child and dog could play in the creek without worry. There are acres of trails to explore and the sounds of nature were so peaceful. Trips into Boone were easy and we had a great time. Would absolutely rent again.

Waterfront private cabin

Easy checkin and communication. Beautiful property with small waterfall. Saw momma deer and fawn, turkey and fed the trout in the pond. We loved this and would definitely go back.

Beautiful and quiet getaway!

I absolutely loved staying here, one of the cleanest places I’ve stayed at and the yard was perfect for my dogs. I wish I was able to stay longer! I’ll be back for sure.

Another great stay at Shady Creek!

This was our second year staying at Shady Creek and we were not disappointed! We had another relaxing and peaceful visit to the cabin. Our daughter and dog loved playing in the creek and exploring the property. Plus the new gazebo is a wonderful addition! We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and listening to the creek.

Recommending to all my friends

Best small mountain cabin I have stayed in. It is perfect for an escape for 2 or a small family. This place is only 6 miles off a 4-lane highway and 1/4 from the main road. It feels like you are deep in the woods. The stream is perfect with water levels and flow to play in. The cabin has a ton of USB ports for modern families. Nice firepit, grill (gas), and hot tub. The kitchen had everything you need, even a coffee maker for 12 cup pots and/or Kcups. Nice washer and dryer. I have never stayed in the same cabin twice. This one I will.

Love this place

This place is great. We loved the new gazebo by the stream. We played uno the first night with the fire on. Tons of hiking choices. We even made a rope swing in the big tree. We recommend and we will be back.

Peace and Quiet!

Probably one of the top 3 places I’ve rented! If you are looking for peace and quiet and privacy to just chill, then this is the place for you! No neighbors in sight, barely any traffic noise ever, place was great to get away from the hustle bustle. House is well equipped and kids loved the creek and hot tub!

We had 11 nights from 08/05/23 at this excellent property

If you enjoy the outdoors, walking around a lovely garden, near to a lovely creek, sitting on the patio by the fire pit watching the stars then this place will take some beating. The property itself was also lovely, not huge but cost, very nicely finished and certainly very comfortable for us (2 adults and a small spaniel, who didn’t want to leave). We had a couple of issues, but they were dealt with without fuss. We shall definitely be back, simply a beautiful place.

This place is amazing. I want to live here - for real....is it for sale?!!? If not I call dibs when it does!! Seriously great piece of property and cabin. The Gazebo was a nice feature. The creek was perfect for our dogs and myself to cool off in. Our 10 week old fell asleep every day sitting on one of our laps or her chair sitting listening to the creek and having the breeze hit her. I caught some native brook trout in the stream with my fly rod (they were returned to the water) and also ran into a baby fawn while doing so. We have shared the link to this place with several friends and encouraged them to book it. We will be back some day!!

Quiet oasis

We booked this trip for a quiet weekend with our dog and this property 100% delivered. The screened in porch and the sounds of the creek and birds made it the perfect stay in the middle of NC summer. Our guest contact was responsive and very helpful, keeping us updated on whether the creek was passable after some storms passed through. We also appreciated the quality appliances and fixtures. If you’re looking for a quiet, isolated, and comfortable getaway, this is the place to be!

Idyllic Mountain Cabin

Cabin was perfect. Very clean and well maintained inside and out. Cabin was delightfully secluded but still 20minutes items from restaurants and grocery stores. Morning coffee on the front porch listening to the creek and evenings on porch having cocktails. We went gem mining with our teenager at Emerald Hollow. Also, went into Blowing Rock and Boone. We would definitely love to return!

Honeymoon Getaway

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and had a great time! The location is perfectly secluded with the sounds of wind and the river bear by. Night sky of stars easily visible. Hot tub, fir pit, and grill were available for use. I gave 4 stars for cleanliness just for the fact that we found a pillow in the closet with stains on it. Other than that the property was spotless. Would stay again !

I am one of the owners and manager Paul. This is a family property where we grew up coming up and enjoying the mountain property. We enjoy sharing the property, a slice of heaven, with our guests.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Guests like our property for privacy, open fields, forests and beautiful creek. You can relax on the screened porch, gazebo, patio or watch the trout feedings. At night you can see the incredible sky view by the firepit. All of this only seven minutes off the highway and 22 minutes from Boone/Blowing Rock. If you have a dog, they will be in heaven with a natural barrier to keep them near the cabin.

For your entertainment, we have a cornhole set, inside game room and a place to fish for trout. The entire cabin was completely renovated in 2021, so everything is new. This is an actual log cabin with tile, glass bath and granite. New appliances in the kitchen and granite as well.

Very private, 300 yard driveway which allows you see an occasional car pass by but no other homes in site. You'll enjoy the babbling creek and be lulled into a relaxing nap.
