  • Great waterfront getaway!

"We loved getting away to this property. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, although we ended up trying local restaurants most nights. Debbie met us the first day and showed us where to park and gave us some suggestions on things to do like the Sponge Docks and Howard Park, which were great ideas. Loved the ice cream shop nearby! We spent a nice couple days relaxing in a great unit. The unit was well maintained and clean with plenty of towels and bedding. Thanks for the hospitality!"

  • Great Family Get away

"We stayed at this beach front condo for a week with our 2 boys, and they loved it. The condo is very spacious with a large lanai which we used constantly. We loved the location and the ability to walk to breakfast and or lunch. It was nice to have a full size kitchen, there is all the pots and pans you could need. Beds were comfy and the cable and wifi was great. Perfect get away, I walked the beach everyday, so relaxing. Thank you, Tom and Leslie Karen"

  • pleasant place to stay

"Pieces of Eight was just what I was looking-for - an economical place to stay with the basic needs for home-style living. The motels in the under $100.00/day category are mostly dumps and you only get a bed(s) and a bathroom. I have visited this area many times over the years and places like this along the beach are pushing their prices too high. Our accommodations were small, but clean and we had everything we needed there,: a bed for two in a bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living/dining area. The fridge and stove worked and we had all the dishes, pots and pans we could use as well as small appliances. The TV was small but where you sit is so close it doesn't matter :-) and there was a working PVR there so that I could record any shows I wanted to watch later. The two air conditioners worked well and were more than enough to cool-off this there were three ceiling fans to help move the air. Water pressure was good. I liked the courtyard and the shade that the trees provided. There was a BBQ available in the second courtyard, along with a table and chairs....unfortunately it was so hot the week we were there that I couldn't bear to use them! The only thing that I suggest is that Steve have some ventilation installed in the bathroom, to pull-out all that moisture from people having a shower. That will help the a/c unit in the bedroom do its job without working 'over-time'. Owner Steve was around every day working around the place and always available for help or just a talk. If something like a light bulb needs replacing when Steve is not around and you don't mind doing it yourself, just go to the laundry room and get one; there are supplies in there. It was handy having the beach right across the street. There are few good restaurants within a reasonable walking distance or a less-than-five-minute drive, and two really good places for ice cream. So, if you don't require all-new hotel-style furniture and amenities or a large living space, Pieces of Eight is a good place to stay at a reasonable price."

  • A wonderful place to stay

"This was our first time staying at Rivermance. All we can say is OMG. The house is upscale and nicely appointed. Lots of windows and natural light and the view is just fabulous. The porch and deck is where we lived. Could not wait to go out with a cup of coffee and just listen to nature all around. We have never stayed at a place so enchanting as this. The Atmosphere is intoxicating and relaxing to the max. It is sooo quiet there, a true treat. We had two Dolphins come buy the first day there. The driveway is exciting to go down. Homosassa is just the perfect place to be and just what we were looking for. Everyone is so friendly. Driving through the streets people always waved at us. Rented a pontoon boat from River Safari for the day and got to swim with the Manatee's What a special treat. Donna is just a peach and so easy to communicate with. She even called us while we were driving to the house to make sure everything was going well. No one else has done that and we have been renting for years now. Thank you Donna. Two weeks went by to fast and sadly we had to leave but we are already booked for next year. Can't wait to return to this lovely place in the enchanted forest Rick & Elizabeth Vincent"
