And we understand that All Who Wander Are Not Lost!
Tortola Adventure is 300 ft up on Long Bay ridge with incredible panoramic views from Jost Van Dyke to Cane Garden Bay to Sage Mountain. Many BVI sites have jaw- dropping views, not all can offer easy launching into the adventure the BVI can be, plus simply lounging days away in the timeless Tortolan hills. Overlooking the ebb and flow in old Apple Bay below or cloud watching are all permitted here...
Soper's Hole, Frenchman's Cay, West End ferry and Long Bay Beach Resort are less than 10 minutes. Roadtown is 25 minutes driving slow.
This is a private home with private pool overlooking Apple Bay. Tortola Adventure is across from better-known Spy Glass Hill. About 500 ft and two classic Caribbean 'switchbacks' later Tortola Adventure is the last house on the road. Motion lights come on at nighttime arrivals...
Large parking and 2 covered spots; and 4-wheel drive is the way to go! [locals get up the road without it, but this IS an Adventure!] Tortola Adventure is 180 seconds [3 min. drive time, slow...] above one of Tortola's surf spots, Apple/Cappoons Bays. Just look and check conditions...
Tortola Adventure has 'reverse' living arrangements with the main space on the upper level. Here we spend the most time enjoying the views. On this upper level, living, dining and full kitchen are casually open. Fours sets of "multi" French doors open to wrap-around decks and sensuous views of the Caribbean. One might secure doors open, and enjoy outdoor tropics while indoors! Supplanting screened, louvered windows are steady breezes, and fans adorn every ceiling, you 'jus cant sleep longe nuf!' Modern, simple, classically laid out West Indies style, two bedrooms are private 'con los baths.' Vertically via stairways, rather than horizontally, separated living and sleeping quarters give privacy and quiet, except when you all wish to gather in the common area upstairs. Here the rattan queen-futon sleep-sofa, besides seating, provides great sleeping. And, can be curtained off if desired as a sleep area...[as all of our honeymooners, young and old, do...]
At garage ground level is the queen bedroom also with 'multi' French doors opening to a covered wrap-around deck. This bedroom connects to full bath and laundry room. Rinse off at the outside shower after days on the beach...
The lower level king bedroom, dubbed the 'Pool Room' has screens, louvers, and shutters that open to Apple Bay and a 1" thick glass “window” looking into the swimming pool. Here they also claim to 'have not slept like that in ages...' Adjacent is a full bath, plus another 'surfers' outside hot shower for the 'outward bound' or hopeless romantics like our sister Lisa!
The villa comes stocked with linens and beach towels for party’s up to six, and more by request. The laundry room is available for your use or personal laundry can be done for small fees if you prefer.
