Come enjoy an Asheville vacation and use our studio apartment as your home base. Start your day on the screened-in porch with a cup of coffee, then relax with a glass of wine in the evening after a day of hiking the mountains or Downtown Asheville. Inside, make meals in your own kitchen and enjoy fun, retro furnishings in a custom, owner-designed building. It was completed in 2003 using lots of salvage materials, which adds to its charm. The studio apartment is separated from our living space by a breeze-way, so we’re here if you need us.
Our apartment is quite close to exciting shopping, the airport, and the many outdoor activities in the area. There’s no shortage of delicious and inventive dining in town, and the best part is you can go in your tee shirt and flops. (If you want, you can be fancy.) We are minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Biltmore House. Walk to the neighborhood Yoga studio or to Greenlife Grocery, where you can get the best éclairs in the world. We are located in North Asheville, about 1.5 miles from Downtown. If you're looking for the essential Asheville experience, you've found it.

What a gem of an apartment this is! I've never stayed in a VRBO this clean. The retro theme is really cool and reminds me of my mother's kitchen growing up. The bed was quite comfortable. The neighbourhood is charming and there are lots of trees. You can walk to downtown, although it's not the most scenic walk. A good vegetarian restaurant can be found about 5-10 minutes away by foot. There are tons of great restaurants and craft beer nearby. This is THE place to stay when you're in Asheville!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had an excellent time at Sharon's. The cozy apt is easy walking distance to downtown (about 10 minutes of walking) and the awesome retro decorations really bring the apt. together.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed at Luna's Retro Den and it was perfect for our visit to Asheville. The apartment is well-kept, cozy, and colorful. It is located just off the beaten path, but close enough to walk downtown. And after visiting downtown, the River Arts District, and the Biltmore, be sure to venture north on Merrimon and check out Luella's BBQ and Edna's Coffee. To be sure, you can't go wrong with Luna's Retro Den for comfort and location!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

My wife and I are booked to go here again last week in Oct. 2011. The walk to town is very enjoyable and we always feel so safe in walking anywhere in Asheville. The apartment is cozy and clean and everything works A-OK. This is a place you know will be well managed and always worth your visit.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Well, whoever Luna is, we like her taste! Fun and private space not far from downtown...on a beautiful day, might be a nice walk but during the winter be prepared to drive (there is off-street parking) or cab it ($10 cabfare including tip); owners on-site but virtually invisible; apartment was everything stated. Great kitchen, very comfy bed and workable closet/storage space for a weekend getaway. The weather was frigid while we were there and the full tile bathroom was a bit chilly as a result, but nothing a little throw rug wouldn't fix. Maybe Luna can find a retro rug that will seal the deal. Otherwise, was a great stay and we'll book it again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My fiance and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was great. The studio was clean and comfortable and so charming. No detail was overlooked- from having tea and coffee in stock to an iron and ironing board to really great artwork (and there's also a friendly cat hanging out outside from time to time). The pictures are true to the studio, too. We'd definitely stay here again. As a side note, we did not rent a car while we were there. It's about a 20 minute walk to downtown, and if you take side streets, it's really, really pretty. You can pretty easily find a cab at night, but if you're having trouble, just make sure to write down 1 number and they'll come get you. If they're off duty, they'll give you another number-- everyone there is so friendly.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I've stayed in this apartment twice in the past few years and I've always been impressed with how clean and comfortable it is to use as a home base to explore Asheville. The location couldn't be better with Downtown about two minutes away. And if you're feeling a little more adventurous, the fantastic views and hiking of the Blue Ridge Parkway are only about 10 minutes away. The unit itself is very cute - comfortable mid-century furnishings, the retro fridge is super cool (but I don't know when you'd use it because the restaurants downtown are great!) The bed is very comfortable and the fully functioning coffee maker is a very important detail for my family! The only caveat I would share is that the apartment is located up a flight of stairs, so it might be a challenge for people who have a hard time climbing steps. Other than that, it's a great getaway spot for any couple looking to check out one of America's great small cities.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I love shopping and dining in Asheville as well as hiking in the mountains so location is perfect! The studio has authentic 50's decor. Very clean! The outside is eclectic New Orleans. Atmosphere plus. Owners are knowledgeable about both the town and the trails.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

My boyfriend and I stayed in "Luna's Retro Den" for a long weekend. It was absolutely perfect. It's equipped with everything you would find in a hotel room, but you don't have to worry about the hassle of a hotel. A coffee maker, a TV/DVD player, and lots of fun, retro appliances (which work wonderfully!) make this place really feel like a home away from home. If you want to be able to explore Asheville and have a comfy, cozy homebase, I would highly recommend "Luna's Retro Den."Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
