Mary was a gracious and generous host. Would absolutely stay here again. It was perfect for a weekend in Asheville.
We enjoyed our stay at Mary's home. She was at the home to let us in as soon as we arrived – and was flexible to our arrival time. As advertised, the room had a separate entrance and was private from the rest of the home. There were plenty of towels and blankets, and she provided some nice extra amenities like coffee, cold water in the mini fridge, a couple beers. Something I also appreciate when staying other places is MIRRORS! Many places do not have mirrors in spaces outside of the bathroom above the sink, but this place had several (full length included), which allowed me to get ready outside the bathroom while my husband was showering.
One thing that I did not take off stars for (but maybe should?) is the road construction that we were not prepared for. On Saturday we would not have been able to drive anywhere because their road was being re-paved and we parked in their driveway. Fortunately, we were just hanging around downtown and either walked or ubered, but if we had decided to hike or go somewhere further than a couple miles away our trip to Asheville would have been completely ruined. A few locals told me the city of Asheville does a poor job of informing residents of road construction, so we're giving them the benefit of the doubt and hoping that was the case.
What a beautiful place!
What a beautiful place! Private, quiet, yet right in town. The room was cozy with really great lighting options and a private deck. The gardens were still in bloom in early October.
Wonderful place to stay!
My wife and I stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Couldn't have been more pleased, it's very clean, quiet, and centrally located. We used Lyft a few times from this location to go downtown for dinner and drinks, it was around 12$ round trip. I would very much recommend anyone intending to visit downtown to stay here.
This is an absolutely breathtaking piece of property at an even more unbelievable price. The grounds are masterful...seriously, every inch. Mary is incredibly charming and an incredible hostess! Almost don't want to review as to not let the cat out of the bag, lol.
Private, nicely decorated escape in a picturesque setting.
My wife and I attended a wedding in Asheville for a couple days, and this was where we came to change and sleep. We would definitely return! Note: There is no TV but that was fine with us!
