Paraiso de Miguel is a magnificent tropical paradise surrounded by modern convenience. This Ocean View Villa was built in 2004 and sits 500 feet above the Gulfo Dulce. The backyard offers 120-degree view of the ocean and mountains, which are accented by the lush jungle surroundings. The mountains of the Osa peninsula drape the crystal blue waters of the gulf creating a tropical collage. This is truly a place where nature meets its origin.
Kitchen is fully equipped for your convenience: Refrigerator freezer and ice maker, stove, coffee maker, blender, toaster, microwave, a full assortment of pots, pans, Tupperware and place settings for 8. Whether preparing meals in the kitchen or BBQing on the deck, you will always be entertained by the ocean view and surrounding wild life. Front patio offers Adirondack chairs and hammocks for sunset viewing and afternoon napping. Back patio also has a ceiling fan if needed. The side yard has a "rain drop" shower which is great for afternoon or evening cool downs.
Backyard has about 50 fruit trees that provide seasonal fruit. Bananas, papaya, mango, water apples, pineapple and multiple varieties of citrus fruits grow on the property. There is also a seasonal stream on the back of the property that provides a home to a variety of frogs, parrots, toucans, sloths and monkeys.
When not being entertained by the view or exotic wild life, play a game of darts, horse shoes or pitch some golf balls to my adjacent lot. You can also visit one of the many neighborhood waterfalls, one of which is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the house.
The house is also supplied with pure well water that is pulled from an underground aquifer below the property, but a water purification system has also been installed for extra comfort and safety. The house also has it's own washer and dryer.
In the early mornings and evenings, enjoy the wide variety of birds, including parrots and toucans that begin their day visiting the numerous trees surrounding the property. You can also find White face and squirrel monkeys migrating through the property at different times of the day.

The area of Pavones and the Osa peninsula have been relatively untouched by development. It is a place where you can go to experience world class surfing and fishing, while being surrounded by broad variety of plants, animals, birds and marine life. It's like being in a zoo without cages. I love the rugged beauty of the area, culture and beautiful nature of the people.

The view of the ocean and mountains is incredible! I really enjoy being able to view a variety of wild life from the house or while wandering the property. The house is easily accessable from the main road and is in the safe and secure neighborhood of Cuervito. The property is loaded with fruit trees which make great morning, afternoon or evening snacks. The house offers the most modern conveniences of any other home rental in Pavones. You may be in the jungle, but you won't miss the modern conveniences of home
The world famous Pavones surf break. Long left point break that can run 2 1/2 to 3 minutes long.
Beautiful white sand beach at the mouth of a large mangrove. Fast and hollow beach break on the mid and high tide.
Get the fresh catch of the day from the local fisherman that fish the gulf.

I am originally from the San Diego area of Southern California. I grew up by the beach and have always enjoyed the life stlye and ubundance of outdoor activities that ocean living provides. In 1978, just 6 months out of high school, I embarked on a 6 month surf adventure, traveling throughout most of the countries of Central America. I was immediately drawn to the people, culture and raw beauty of the land. It was an experience that changed my life and after returning to the states, I dreamed of some day returning as a full time resident. In January of 2009, I realized my dream and now live full time in the Pavones area of Costa Rica. So far, life in the tropics has been wonderful and every morning I look forward to the new experiences and adventures that are sure to come my way. Life in Pavones is "Pura Vida".
