Set on a hillside with breathtaking views of the island and the Caribbean Sea, La Diosa del Sol is a luxury four-bedroom villa on Roatan's North Shore. With its own private beach, close to everything but a world away, La Diosa is a place of beauty, privacy, and relaxation. La Diosa is perfect both for couples seeking a romantic getaway and for families and groups looking for a special place to relax and reconnect.
The Villa has a large infinity pool. ocean kayaks, and 160 feet of private beachfront. Swim and snorkel off La Diosa's private dock or go on an adventure with Subway WaterSports, which will pick you up to dive or snorkel in all the best places on the uncrowded North Shore reef.
La Diosa's beautifully appointed rooms open out to large covered porches with panoramic views of the the reef and the surrounding tropical forest. The master suites have private patios, ensuite baths, along with views of the Caribbean. La Diosa also has two guest bedrooms, a writers' tower and two screened sleeping porches.
In La Diosa's main house, the Great Room with its soaring cathedral ceiling opens out to the covered porches and to the bridge to the gardens. The fully equipped gourmet kitchen has a large island of slate and Honduran rosewood, an eating bar, two dining areas, and spectacular views of the Caribbean. The game room has a lounging area, a pool table and a bar, and there is an exercise room for the athletically inclined.
The three-story villa is surrounded by four acres of private grounds with paths through gardens and tropical trees.
We also have a caretaker on the property 24 hours per day. And while the villa is secluded and private, restaurants, shopping, and Roatan's many attractions are not far away. Our guests find the location perfect to explore Roatan's many attractions.
We designed La Diosa to be a "green" home suitable for asthmatic and environmentally sensitive people, with tile and concrete construction, solar hot water, a salt water swimming pool, and non-toxic, sophisticated energy-efficient construction.

Why the Owner Chose Politilly Bight
After traveling throughout the Caribbean, we came upon Roatan and fell in love with it - its natural beauty, its people, the wonderful "something special" about it.... We looked at many houses and places until we came upon this amazing 4 acre property. The breezes were wonderful even on a hot day, the views went on forever, and even though it had been a bit neglected we could see ourselves building a special place there, among the trees, honoring the earth, a place of peace and serenity.
But fun too!
The Unique Benefits at this House
When I come to La Diosa, it is as if time just melts away. I get up with the sun and kayak in the early morning, take a swim, saying hello to the fish around the reef -- then come back to the gardens, lounge around the pool, read, write in the tower, snooze in the hammock, go horseback riding, explore, whip up a meal in our huge kitchen or just take a walk among the trees. What could be better? What a blessing!
Beautiful, private luxury 4 acre estate with private dock and beach, pool, gardens. Ocean kayaks at your disposal, fresh fish and lobster from the local fishermen, great snorkeling and swimming, mangrove tunnels, tropical flowers - your own paradise, yet close to everything!

Sherman Arch and his family are doing the Lord's work in saving the native Iguana. Definitely worth a visit and a contribution to see these amazing creatures.
A picturesque Roatan town, jumping off point for tours of the mangrove tunnels,. Check out BJ's restaurant right on the water -- hire a boat to take you through the mangroves.
GREAT Roatan restaurant, Karaoke on Wednesday night, Garifuna performances on Friday night, home of Subway Watersports for diving and snorkeling excursions.
Roatan's gorgeous new golf course designed by Pete Dye. The site is known as "Pristine Bay". Only 12 minutes from La Diosa.
The longest zip line in the Caribbean, about 12 minutes away from La Diosa. Fun! Takes about 40 minutes. Can be crowded on cruise ship mornings.
Beautiful and remote Roatan beach, with a nice restaurant in a spectacular setting of surf, beach, and volcanic rocks. The adventurous soul will be well rewarded. 25 minutes from La Diosa.
A beautiful, long, deserted white sand beach - wear bugspray! A nice restaurant out there, not a good road -- for the very very adventurous, a nice day trip.

We loved La Diosa. What an amazing place. We were struck by the fabulous vista, by its quietness and in particular the lovely spacious airiness of the place. We were blown away by the place when we arrived. The rooms were all lovely and there was always somewhere to escape the heat if you wished. The bug blinds really helped loads as it meant we could still enjoy the lovely breeze without being eaten. Topping it all was the pool which our boys loved and us too. So nice to swim and not have stinging eyes. Always clean and looked after really well by Eleas. Having said that, the lovely kitchen dining and sitting room were so comfortable and relaxing. No shortage of things to do, games to play and all the kitchen utensils you could ever need. We had a couple of film nights which we really enjoyed. The large fridge made life easy and the furnishings were also amazing, great taste. Loved the masks and the modern art. It made it all special and all the more relaxing. The boys loved the lizards and the geckos. The snorkelling nearby was fab and having the kayaks a real boon. It was a little bit windy whilst we were there so having the life jackets a great reassurance even though we are reasonably experienced on the water. Eleas the caretaker and security man was such a nice guy and provided us with that extra comfort knowing we were always perfectly safe. When we arrived Claire and Kevin met us at the airport. They were were really kind, always accessible and a great help with info and the lowdown on local spots to visit and places to eat. They made every effort to make sure we were fine. As for Roatan we loved our stay and it was well worth the effort of making the long trip from the UK. The snorkelling was amazing. We saw turtles and swam with them, saw a sting ray and even a distant shark. Loads of extraordinary fish in the most beautifully transparent water. West bay was particularly good. So what did we think? We had a fabulous holiday and a brilliant time with our children. The hire of a truck was a very sensible recommendation as it made the island accessible which otherwise we would have not explored as extensively. We need to post some photo's. The shots of the place do not do la Diosa full justice. It is lovely and comes highly recommended

Just spent a week in roatan. We had the best time ever! gorgeous house. Perfect for a getaway to relax and have lots of fun. The house comes with completely everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible from board games to kayaks! I recommend la diosa del sol to everybody. You will enjoy each day to the fullest. In addition to that adrienne,claire,kevin will make ur stay even better. Such excellent People. We can't wait tO comeback this year

The property managers met us at the airport, helped us navigate our car rental, and took us to the grocery store before leading us to La Diosa Del Sol and showing us around. We loved the house. It provided the perfect blend of open island living and indoor spaces with high ceilings, screens, fans and fabulous views. The views from multiple different spaces in the house were so incredible that people wanted to find quiet time in every space during their stay. The house afforded multiple group spaces: 1. The comfy living room/ dining room/kitchen space with a TV getting tons of cable channels, a DVD player with a hefty supply of movies to watch, and a stack of games). 2. The table and chairs on the upstairs deck had different stunning views and provided an outdoor dining area at dinnertime and a quiet spot to read a book or sift through your dreaded emails (using the wireless internet provided) during the day, and 3. The fabulous poolside patio that offered lots of both sunny and shady spots. Again, the views out to the ocean and coral breaks are stunning. Around the pool one finds an array of tropical plant life that attracted an assortment of birds. The bedrooms were arranged in such a way that every room felt private. Every room had great cross ventilation and most had fabulous views. We loved the sleeping and the fact that screened in windows and fans allowed us to sleep with the fabulous evening breezes that came with the nightly rain showers. We could hear the wind, rain and surf breaking, yet not get bugs or birds in our room. We loved the hours spent reading books, sharing stories and hanging by the pool. We pulled one of the big can lights out onto the patio and ate out there every night. Around that table upstairs, we enjoyed endless family laughs. Great family time for our clan! . For a group of 7, who works way too much, it was a perfect place to unwind, relax, appreciate the natural beauty of the world in which we live, and leave the amenity, gadget driven, consumer driven world behind. La Diosa del Sol afforded us the tranquility and serenity of a beautiful space in which to relax, yet offered an array of our favorite outdoor recreational activities with the scuba diving, kayaking, and island exploring. We would love to return!!

My son and I had a great week's vacation. Beautiful house, pool, views, 5 min. kayaking to great reef for snorkeling. The weather was perfect; warm and breezy and the hammock is divine. My son went zip - lining and had a blast. Highly recommended.

La Diosa...the hidden gem of Roatán

La Diosa was the rendezvous point with our daughter, a Peace Corps volunteer in mainland Honduras. Upon our arrival at the airport, Kevin and Claire greeted us with cheery helpfulness, we quickly located our rental car and then we caravanned to the amply supplied super mercado in French Harbor. After buying out the store, we headed to the East end of the island where LA Diosa is located in Politilly Bight. Very quickly we settled into our relaxing, lazy, daily routine: running along the country roads, snorkeling the aqua-colored caribe waters, kayaking, investigating the villages that dot the coast of the island, taking a dip in the pool and of course, watching the sunsets! Several times, Elias, the caretaker and concierge of the property, arranged for the delivery of freshly caught live lobster and King crab and local fish, plus he made arrangements for a very early taxi ride to the airport for daughter. We never made the trek to the busier West End for dinner, it was always much more fun for our family to share the cooking responsibilities, and enjoy a relaxing dinner en casa! What our family enjoyed the most was the location, far from the cruise ships and tourist hotels. The house easily accommodated six adults, and came equipped with internet, DVD player (and a library of films), W&D, BBQ, and two lovely Katrina rescue dogs, Hope and Grace.

I recently stayed in this beautiful house escape the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles to get some writing done on a script I was working on. I could not have picked a better place! To relax out by an amazing infinity pool disappearing into a gorgeous ocean horizon is a writers dream. And with a super convenient dock to either swim or kayak off of and a DVD collection of what must have been over 200 films, I found that I never wanted to leave! I finished the script in the two weeks I was there and I think it is the best thing I have ever written. I can’t wait to go back!
