  • Perfect!

"Just returned home after 1 month on the island with stays in multiple places. After discussing everyplace we stayed, my wife and I are in agreement that Turtle beach is the best for our money. Centrally located to West End and West Bay, it is perfect. We like to walk more than we like the water so we were able to shoot up or down the beach to our hearts content. Paul and the rest of the staff are very attentive. You want something? You will not ask twice. It's done. You want fresh fish or fruit? The guys are called and within minutes you'll have what you want. Want a BBQ, no problema. Give Turtle beach a try and you will not be disappointed. I've been fortunate to travel world wide and have found few places that offer more. Feel free to enjoy the water or do nothing on one of the hammocks. It was what the doctor ordered. The other guests were a joy."

  • Our Favorite Family Vacation Ever!!

"We can't say enough about how wonderful and perfect this home was for us!! We spent an amazing week here and we wish so much that we could've stayed much much longer. Our favorites: #1: THE VIEW!! I couldn't stop taking pictures of the same sights because the colors of the water kept changing from amazing to even more amazing. The sunset was to die for!! #2: THE DECK - We spent hours and hours just relaxing in the hammocks and playing games and eating at the table. I'm an avid reader and I thought I'd be on that deck reading, but I spent the whole time looking at the view and watching the humming birds and the little lizards and the kittens...I never even cracked a book open the entire time! #3: THE KAYAKS - Having them to use whenever we wanted was a huge bonus. We kayaked over by the dolphins and one jumped out of the water right next to us.... it startled and delighted us! #4: THE SOUND OF THE RAIN ON THE ROOF: It rained almost every night and the sound of the rain hitting the roof was so cozy and magical. We loved it! #4: JOSE - He was so sweet and helpful our entire time there. We were so sad to leave him....he felt like a part of our family! #5: THE RESTAURANTS DOWN THE BEACH - We really enjoyed the walk down the beach and back each night. We also got to know the restaurant owners and staff and other locals that frequent them. Everyone made us feel so at home and we learned tons about the area from them. We rented a car but we still ended up walking to dinner each night. We all agreed that we loved these places to eat the most! We NEVER felt unsafe in the area and were even comfortable enough to let our 13 and 10 year old go down and play on the beach on their own (while we relaxed in ear shot on the deck). They spent hours making sand formations and expoloring the edge of the water. Their favorite find was a bright orange star fish. #6: THE DOCK: We snorkeled off of it, we relaxed on it, and I took tons of pictures of it. We loved that the locals enjoy it as well. It was so fun watching everyone have a blast and our kids enjoyed an afternoon of jumping off of the dock with everyone else. #7: THE ENDLESS AMOUNT OF ACTIVITIES NEARBY: There is SO MUCH to do on such a little Island. Everything was close by but we still didn't get to do everything we wanted, even after doing something every day we were there. THANK YOU for all of our new precious family memories that your home gave us. We will be back!"

  • Loved staying here again!

"Seaside Inn bungalow the Gecko has everything one needs to enjoy the best vacation you can have. The bungalow has a 2 AC units, a full stocked kitchen , dining room table and living room and who can resist that front deck with ceiling fans and a clothesline to hand your suits and towels. The guests have access to the rest of the house and enjoying the pool, the 2nd floor common area with the wonderful breezes and comfortable hammocks are just a few of the special touches that Carolyn the owner provides. Her breakfasts are made to order and are delicious and plentiful, having a frig to put leftovers is the best. Carolyn provides umbrellas, flashlight, and a phone to use on the island. Who else does that? And when you are ready to go you can use the washer and dryer ! The intimate setting of only 8 maximum guests was easy in making friends and making plans for dinner or island excursions. Carolyn has access to the seafood vendor and fruit and veggie truck that comes by every week. This was our second year vacationing at the Seaside Inn and we hope to return next year. Thanks for everything Carolyn!"

  • Tout simplement exceptionnel (Simply Exceptional!)

"With our 4 children, we came from France to visit Roatan. La Diosa was THE place to stay and we had a marvelous time there : the house and the garden are really wonderful, well equiped, with everything you might dream. The beach is near, and with the kayacks, you're able to snorkel on the beautiful reef in a few moments. Humming birds can be seen while you're taking your shower in the open air. The view is breathtaking. Beeing located on the east part of Roatan is really an advantage : this part of the island is more authentic, but in less than an hour you can access, if you want, the more touristical places in the island. Not far from the house, beautiful beaches, wonderful dives with "subway water sport" that pick you up right from the dock at La Diosa. Punta Gorda with its Garifuna joyful feats and dances is very near... And what made our stay really remarkable was the presence of Jorge. He is perfect in his role as caretaker : helpul, efficient, hardworker, always available but never intrusive. And we found he goes far beyond his duty, in the good sense : friendly, giving good advices, taking care of our security in every aspect, always ready to talk about Honduras and Roatan, showing our kids how to cook a traditional recipe. After a few days, though he was always discrete, we had the impression of being at home with a friend nearby. Jorge is really precious and added greatly to the quality of our stay in La Diosa… The best summary comes from our kids "when do we come back ?". And though it's very far from France, no doubt we also dream of it! PS : if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, don't hesitate to go far east, on the dirt road, to "La Sirena" restaurant : the view and the beach are amazing, and you've got the feeling of being at the edge of the world. Their fishes are delicious."
