  • Heading back to Tortuga Beach House Spring 2017

"Excellent holiday! Everything was relaxful and so easy. Owner arranged an airport pick up (no hassle). Professional trusted driver stopped at a well stocked reasonably priced grocery store to pick up all the food & supplies we required. Meal prep was easy as the unit has a fully stocked gourmet kitchen with lots of extras (we are not used to having high quality utensils etc. when staying at other vacation rentals). The apartment is spacious, very clean, very comfortable mattresses and pillows. Eating our meals on the large porch allowed us a view of the beach and the ocean while getting some shade, cool breeze and some quiet time. After a delicious dinner we made our way up to an incredible rooftop deck for a magnificent view of the stars (StarWalk app, very limited light pollution, privacy). The West Bay Village is professional managed so everything is very well taken care of and we felt safe. Of course the beach is brilliant and full of life. Too many activities for us to take in but we couldn't get enough of the opportunity to SCUBA dive at such pristine area. World class diving. We were thrilled to find an excellent dive shop (Bananarama - professional, small boats, safety oriented) a couple of minutes down the beach. We are planning a return visit to Tortuga Beach House in 2017 which really says it all!"

  • we were happy

"This is a nice, lovely, gorgeous house. We were three adults and two children. One couple in the King bed room, me in the Queen room, and two kids each with their own loft bedroom upstairs, everyone with their own bathroom! balconies! The house was very clean, quality linens and towels and plenty of them, good mattresses. The driver can stop at the grocery store by the airport on the way in, recommended to get your drinks and snacks and stuff. They leave you a bag of coffee from their coffee farm, it is great! I'm a big coffee drinker and I loved their coffee, brought several bags home! 7$ a bag! They roast and bag it right there on the property. For having such great coffee the house could use a better coffee maker, it was quite slow to drip, needed a bit of time to brew a full pot. The location is great, a few steps from the beach, but no ocean view because of the foliage, but plenty of privacy. So no ocean view, but essentially right on the beach, with some nice foliage, and the price is sooo right. Outdoor shower to rinse off sand convenient, all the AC units worked great, quiet, ice cold. What you wont have sometimes-electricity., seems to happen regularly on Roatan. We experienced several power outages, for hours at a time. No back up generator. It really didn't take away from our experience, we had fun with it, but I was a little surprised there were no flashlights or lanterns available in the house, we had to go buy some in Coxen hole, got the last ones. It was great to just walk to dinner in 5 minutes and have many choices. Dive operators in walking distance, I recommend Hammerhead dive shop right around the corner. A shout to Louis-I had finally arrived after two cancelled flights r/t hurricane, and lost luggage. Louis the driver who picked me up helped me file my missing luggage claim at the terminal, and provided the address and number to call when it arrived the next day. We were out touring when it came but Coral house crew/Marisol met the delivery and got my luggage in to the house. Although not being able to speak Spanish myself wasn't an issue in West Bay, at this particular instance at the airport I was so glad to have Louis the driver to translate in Spanish to the attendant my luggage situation, helping to locate it and arrange for it's delivery."

  • Upscale yet remote getaway

"Loved the location! The private boat peer in the Lawson Rock neighborhood next to our location was stunning for snorkeling. The private pool on the patio was a real treat. The furnishings were comfortable. Travelers will need to arrange for transportation if they leave Lawson Rock as it is a remote location, but a driver (Frankie) was readily available. Overall, Lawson Rock was exactly what we were looking for our honeymoon - upscale, but remote. For travelers looking for easy access to restaurants, bars and other conveniences, this location may be a bit out of the way. While transportation is readily available, the cost does add up - so be prepared. We, however, thought it was perfect."
