  • Very nice vacation

"I'd heard that Roatan was famous for snorkeling, scuba diving and beach bars. As retired couples travelling together we were looking for all of the above except the bars. A search for beach front property, without the cruise ship crowds, led us to Palmetto Bay Villas. Palmetto Breeze was a perfect choice for us. I think there are 14 or so of the Balinese style houses on the property. Breeze is located about 2 minutes from the beach or pool and has a nice view of the ocean from the front porch. The location was private and quiet. We spent hours stting on the Adirondack chairs, reading ,watching the birds and geckos or resting on the large bed suspended by chains above the deck . The house is charming and comfortable. The construction materials and methods were really impressive...sliding louvered doors and windows all crafted from local wood, solid wood interior doors over 7 feet tall, wood floors in the main areas and a screened in dining room. Wireless Internet, flat screen TV and 108 channels. Ceiling fans in all the rooms cooled us nicely without having to ever use the a/c. Beds were very comfortable. The master has a skylight and a tv. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you need. The toaster oven was perfect for our needs, the blender was handy for smoothies and a huge microwave. The property has a nice layout design. Winding paths and wooden bridges surrounded by tropical gardens. The beach is raked everyday and is kept in nice condition. The water is shallow with a flat shelf of coral and turtle grass that is not conducive for swimming. We really enjoy beach combing. Not too far west is Marbella beach. There is a great spot hollowed out in the coral shelf for swimming. Swim out about 2 thirds of the way to the reef and you'll find an awesome outcropping of coral and fish. Swimming off the dock was great and there is a perfect sunning spot on the nearby raft. The resort bar and restaurant were perfect for those times we didn't feel like cooking. Eric makes great drinks and the food was varied and delicious. Lisa, the manager, had organized a buffet night and live music a few times in the month we were there. We had a wonderful time on Roatan and Palmetto Bay."

  • Very Satisfied

"The house was up on a hill with a very nice view of the ocean. It has pretty much everything you'll need such as cooking, eating, towels and etc. Shanna and Ryan are very friendly and helplful as well. The pool was always empty so we had it to ourselves pretty much the whole time. I would definitely recommend renting a car because the walk to the beach, stores and restaurants is a little tough. The house is up on a hill so walking back up is not easy. Overall the house was very nice and clean, I highly recommend."

  • This is a charming house!

"We loved this place - full of character and very comfortable. It has everything we needed. George the caretaker was very fast to help us if we needed anything at all. You cannot beat the view and we would certainly love to stay there again on a future trip."

  • Very convenient and accessible! West Bay Village is a gateway to pristine ocean waters and relaxing

"Property was nice, but in need of a little sprucing up! Everything worked, as long as the power and water was on. But then again, we were only there to sleep! The real beauty is outside!!!"
