The home is so lovely & peaceful! Gloria & Mike have thought of everything and are very responsive when needed !There is a restaurant & dive shop next door -so convenient! and the Brewing Co. is a 5 minute walk. We rented a car and spent time on the East end of the island - as well as West End & West Bay. Highly recommend Anthony’s Chicken in West Bay (best jerk chicken ever!) and Azure -about a 5-10 minute drive -great food, drink and scenery!Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home with us ! We will definitely be back !

Das Objekt ist wunderbar, deshalb auch die 5 Punkte in der Gesamtbewertung. Es ist etwas kleiner als das Inserat vermuten lässt. Gloria und das Team sind super, das Haus ist gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist eigentlich gut, der Strand sieht sehr schön aus - ist aber fürs Schnorcheln nicht geeignet, ihr müsst schon sehr weit raus um etwas zu sehen. Es gab auch sehr viel Gras (ich glaube turtlegras) am Strand, mein Sohnemann hat es dann bevorzugt in den schönen Pool (ein paar Schritte entfernt) zu gehen. Ein Traum ist der morgendliche Kaffee auf der Terrasse. Was ihr aber definitiv benötigt, ein wirksames Spray gegen Mücken und Sandflies. Wer direkt am Strand wohnt, muss natürlich auch damit rechnen.

Creature Comfort in Palmetto Bay

This is a nice, freshly remodeled, well-kept Bungalow. We were extremely happy with the accommodations throughout. The bed, linens, and electronics were all top of the line. The staff keeps the beach and grounds in great shape. The property manager was right there when we had a minor issue with a bathroom light. The owner Gloria accommodated our schedule, and was glad to provide tips and recommendations that made our stay all the better. We were in Roatan primarily to snorkel, and we were disappointed in the snorkeling that is accessible from the shore in Palmetto Bay. But this obviously was not Gloria's fault. If you're a scuba diver the place would be great. There were nice folks taking divers out from right in front of the bungalow several times a day. We would have preferred if the bungalow had screens on the doors and windows so we could have let in the ocean breezes on cooler days. But the place is very well air conditioned, so we were always comfortable. All told, it was a great stay.

Palmetto Bay

We had an amazing stay at Palmetto Bay, beautiful beach front house with everything we needed. The location and beach are one of the better views on the island, not the white sand of West Bay but doesn’t have all the cruise traffic either. Nice dive shop right on site, and restaurant is good as well. Property is very well maintained, and if Injad any questions the host responded immediately. We took the kayak out several mornings and tied up at the buoy directly in front of the house. This allowed us to snorkel right at the reef, saw rays, sharks, lobster, crab, and a ton of fish. It’s a 1/4 mile trek, took about 10 minutes and well worth it. Don’t mess with snorkeling around the dock, head out to the buoy, you won’t be disappointed. We also like to cook in as much as we can, the kitchen had everything we needed, would definitely recommend.

Beautiful View

We had a great time on the Island! Gloria and Salome were easy to communicate with and so incredibly helpful! Everything listed is completely accurate. As a couple that travels quite a bit, comfortable beds can be hit or miss. However, the beds here were super comfy and waking up to that beautiful view of the ocean was amazing! The bungalow was clean, felt very safe, and it was easy to get to anywhere else on the island from that point. I highly recommend staying here.

A piece of paradise

Our stay was amazing! The view was gorgeous. We loved the house. We said more than once that this is how we would want our island house to be. Gloria and Salomé were great to work with, and so responsive. It was nice to have the brewery and The Cove so close by. We booked a few excursions and they were happy to come pick us up.

Nice place

We enjoyed our stay at the house! Gloria was wonderful to work with. She was always quick to respond to any questions we had. The house was just as listed. The location was nice and quiet, away from all the business at the West Bay, but still within a reasonable drive to the beaches there. The only downside was the beach at Palmetto Bay wasn’t great - not one you’d walk into the ocean at or lay out on. However, there was a nice pool, hammocks, and a beautiful pier out over the water with hammocks as well. We loved hanging out at the bar/restaurant. The food & drinks were great! Richard and Lisa took excellent care of us there and were nice to get to know. The house had everything we needed & was comfortable- including comfortable beds! Sitting on the porch under the fans, listening to the birds and watching the water was so peaceful and relaxing! We would recommend getting a rental car to get around easier. It took a day or so to get used to driving there, but it wasn’t bad. The brewery next door to the resort was great too! Good beer & a nice place to hang out at. We always enjoyed coming back “home” to Palmetto Bay!

Roatan 2024 - First timer

Property was exactly as advertised. we loved the location away from the hubbub of West Bay and West end. Great view, having the restaurant/dive shop/bar/pool right next door is a huge value. Food at the Cove was some of the best food we ate. Best part was all the people in that community we met and staffing. Can't say enough about how nice they all were. BTW, the Cauliflower appetizer at the Cove is a MUST HAVE dish! Thaks again for sharing you home with us!!

Perfect Location

Rented for our 10 year anniversary and could not be happier. The house was beautiful and right on the beach. It was well equipped and spacious enough for two couples. The restaurant, pool, and dive shop are steps away. Best location in the neighborhood and on the island. Already planning our next stay there.

A great house for a family getaway

We had a wonderful stay! The house is clean, well stocked, comfortable and has a great view. The Cove restaurant is steps away and we could enjoy the local musicians on a couple of evenings right from the porch. We lounged in the hammocks on the dock, and ate at the Brewery down the road. Easy access to all parts of the island. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful home on the ocean

We had an amazing stay in a very comfortable home right in the ocean. The photos are accurate, and the home has everything you will need. The bed is super comfy too! We loved staying on this part of the island. We had a cat which made getting around to other parts and restaurants easy. Would definitely stay here again! Wonderfully responsive hosts too.

Beauty abounds

The house needs some updating! Could use new sheets, some were stained and not very fresh! The location is amazing, returning is an option for sure! We had some rough bumps at beginning, but we loved our stay after the bumps worked out. Sylvia taylor

Outstanding Beachfront

You couldn’t ask for a better view and serene atmosphere than the Little Beach House By the Sea in Palmetto Bay. Anna is most delightful to work with. She responded to every question and request immediately, gave great recommendations and was able to set us up with transportation. The house is in a great location to the view of the sea, pool, pier/gazebo, restaurant. The furnishings are adequate and we had everything we needed. The clothes dryer didn’t work but they are working on it. Sitting on the front porch every morning and evening was probably one of our favorite memories of the entire trip. Just taking in the warmth and holding on to the view as we head back to the icy cold temps of MN as I write this review today. The location was perfect for us. We ate at the Cove a couple of times, walked to the brewery for dinner one day, did a fishing and snorkeling tour with Sam, but also got out to explore the island as well. We kept busy but it was nice to come back “home” to the quietness of Palmetto Bay every evening. Best news of all is that we had no issues with any outdoor bug bites- even without a screened in porch! We would highly recommend Anna and her place to any one for a wonderful vacation in Roatan.

Great view, great location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palmetto Bay. We explored the island quite a bit during our 9 day stay and did not find another area we liked as much. Quiet and secluded but walking distance to The Cove restaurant and Roatan Island brewery. Away from the cruise ship crowds! Directly on the Beach with unobstructed views. Anna and Joel went out of their way to accommodate when we asked about a cooler and beach chairs for a day at Camp Bay beach. We went snorkeling with the dive shop next door as well. Super easy and staff was great. Communication with owners was extremely responsive! Thanks so much!

Lovely home with great access to resort services and pool.

Pros: We loved the veranda to watch the ocean, conservatory-like grounds with blooming plants, mature palms and trees lining paths. Walked east on the beach quite a ways. The palapa over water and many hammocks on the property made relaxation easy. The pool was clean and comfortable temperature ( we live in MN). . Comfortable beds, large windows bring in light on 4 sides of home under large eaves. We could sit on the veranda during rain storms and stay dry. Happy hour 2 for 1 daily 3-5 pm. Sam of Roatan Divers on site made snorkeling from the dive boat with 4 others great experience. Two meals at the Cove were delicious. Large wooden louvered doors gave security at night. Rejuvenating stay the whole week at the property. Property manager was responsive via WhatsApp. Cons: Arrival at 630 pm with driver after grocery stop house was dark, no lights outside, had difficulty finding lockbox. Property manager arranged driver, who then gave our ride to second driver who did not know property. The nighttime lighting was resolved when we were there. Property manager contacted electrician to repair 3 lights and later evenings were well lit. There are 4 different keys to 4 different doors. We used the lock box when we were gone to store key. Minimal kitchen lighting from 2 under cabinets and microwave. Low water pressure (a trickle).made washing dishes a long process. Grass beds at shoreline keep reef healthy, can snorkel from palapa —no coral there and limited fish population. Would have appreciated lawn chairs or loungers to bring out to water edge.

Soul Soothing Mountain Jungles Caressed by the Ocean

Out of all the islands we have traveled to, Roatan is our favorite! Our stay here has been nothing but welcoming by all the resident expats and locals. This property is beautiful, serene and calls for you to unplug from your daily grind to soak in the beauty that nature has bestowed this location and island with. The internet here has been reliable and during our stay upgraded to fiber optics, so if you do need to plug back in you won’t have any issues. Anna has been available for anything that we needed which turned out to be nothing while on the island, but because of her great attitude and response to a problem we had before coming down, we knew if we did need her, she was just a message away and would be quick to reply and help us out. Like Florida, the Mosquitoes and No-See-Ums can be a bit overwhelming for some people. They didn’t bother me, but my husband had issues. The key is to be proactive and use bug spray, especially in the morning and at dusk. If you do have issues and need instant relief, believe it or not a solid powder deodorant WORKS MIRICALES. My husband rubbed it on his bites and said it felt like he’d never been bitten. We also went to the pharmacy and purchased, BETAFARM-CORT (Hydrocortisone 1%) and Benadryl (take at night if it makes you sleepy) but the most effective item was the cheap powder fresh Suave deodorant. There is a fantastic dive shop right next door called Scuba Roatan. I took their intro to scuba diving class and the instructor George was fantastic! I’ll be back to get my certification with them. I also went snorkeling twice with Sam who captains the boat and serves as your guide through the reef showing you all the beautiful fish and other creatures he might see. He free dives to the bottom, which alone is beautiful to watch, but he’ll point out or get a little creature to move so you can see it. It’s magical and not to be missed. The restaurant next door is called The Cove and is a nice place to eat, but the best part was our server, Angelo. He is very welcoming, friendly and will go out of his way to make your time there great. This is an INCREDIBLE place that has everything you need to rejuvenate your soul and find the inner person you have been missing due to your daily grind. LOVE IT & LET IT BE. We’ll be back!
