A great place to stay in Palm Springs

Just returned home from a trip to Palm Springs and a stay at the Elrod Villa. I was there with my wife, brother in law and his fiance. We are all in our 30s. We had a fantastic experience, and would definitely stay there again. It's ideal for two couples or a small family. If one were to use the media room as a 3rd bedroom, it could accommodate a larger group, but that room doesn't have its own bathroom, and doesn't have as much privacy as people in the 2nd bedroom have to walk through it to get to the rest of the house (unless they walked around the outside). The house has a lot of character, is very clean and is accurately depicted in the photos. The original owner clearly spared no expense in customizing the unit. It's just a 5 minute drive to the center of town, and Cheeky's, quite possibly the best breakfast place you will ever encounter. The pool is really beautiful. It's perfect for taking a cooling dip or just lounging on one of the pool floats that are provided. There are great views of the San Jacinto mountains from the pool area. This house is really unique, and I think superior to a lot of the cookie-cutter type options in the area. It is a no-brainer in terms of value for anyone who would be alternatively considering staying in a hotel. The owners are very responsive and easy to deal with.

Elegant, Stylish and Easy

The El Rod Villa was one of our better getaways to Palm Springs. This was so much better than renting a hotel room . The cost works out to be similar to renting a nice hotel room and you get this amazing house. The home was so spacious, cool , beautiful and quiet. The position of the pool and jacuzzi are perfect for seeing a large part of the sky and star veiwing. Very romantic. The area itself is nice and quiet. This location of the home is in a pleasant establishment. I felt very safe here. The decor and attributes of this villa were so vintage - it made me happy. It's what a Palm Springs vacation is supposed to be! The kitchen was just redone. It's lovely. I was impressed at how clean this property is. A desert house can get dusty and stuffy. It's well taken care of. What a gem of a place. We didn't end up going anywhere except to the grocery store. Loved it. The owners Stacy and Guy were very easy to work with and provided all necessary information - there was never any confusion. Hope to come back someday soon.

Palm Springs Relaxer

We enjoyed our stay at this spacious home. The photos show it all, ,however the pool seems much smaller in person, but has a spa with jets. The kitchen Isn't shown in photos but was well stocked and easy to work in, as well as the BBQ grill outside. Lots of light and privacy. Once we mastered the lights and three entry combos we were good. I'd recommend it to everyone. Thank You Stacy and Guy.

We stayed at the The Elrod Villa for Labor Day 2010 and the villa is absolutely gorgeous. Stacy and Guy are very prompt and helpful and give you information before you arrive about everything in the house from top to bottom. The villa is in a private and quiet location with amazing mountain views. The pool is private and very unique - with fountain, sculpture, tiling, etc. The home inside is fun and spacious. I absolutely loved this property and would love to return again.

perfect vacation

My wife and I took a vacation to the Elrod villa for a weekend and It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had. Everything about the place was just perfectly designed and decorated. We did not expect the place to be so spacious from looking at the photos but when we arrived at the house we were in awe. Our favorite parts about the place were the floor to ceiling glass windows, the modernly designed pool and 2 large beautiful paintings in the living room and the master bedroom. The place had a good balance of space, light and color through out the whole house that gave the sense of relaxation. The owners sent us very detailed information prior to our departure about the place that made everything about this trip easy and informative. We recommend this place to everyone who has great taste and appreciation for good design.

Perfect and Private Getaway

We are a young couple without kids that live and work in LA - we chose Palm Springs for a memorial day weekend trip for it's proximity, weather and new crop of restaurants and hotel bars. We made a couple of reservations at the Colony and the Riviera but quickly realized they were going to be crowded and busy - we looked into renting a private home and came across the Elrod. PERFECT!! Bigger than any spectacular hotel suite we had on hold and more well appointed with actual mid-century modern furnishings (not just in the style of) and our own private pool and jacuzzi. Immaculate, private and well maintained, we felt like we were at the home of our very hip friends who gave us their fab Palm Springs Villa for the weekend as opposed to most traditional vacation rentals that are typically stocked with cheap furniture, art and utensils because the owners know it's for "renters". We enjoyed being there so much that we never even made it into town to check out the scene until the last day but it's good to know that the the villa is super close (2 minutes in the car) to all the great shopping, dining and nightlife in Palm Springs. We will definitely be back and next time it will be for more than the weekend!!!

We loved staying in this beautiful house close to the mountains. It's well appointed and spacious with more storage space than you can ever use. Most of all, I loved being able to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi any time of day or night in a very private setting. Can't wait to go back! Spectacular!

The Racquet Club takes one immediately back to the early and glamorous days of Hollywood. One would not be surprised to see Elizabeth Taylor or Tab Hunter lounging at the neighbor's pool. We'll certainly be back next year. Peggy
