  • Perfect location and plenty of room for family activities indoors and out!

"We are a family of 8, 5 adults and 3 teenagers. We enjoyed cooking and dining on the patio and had extra room for a niece and cousins to join us for dinner and games after a day at the beach! This home is well maintained and equipped for the beach and for preparing meals inside or out. The only thing we could have used was a larger skillet and smaller wine glasses! We also brought some larger beach blankets and towels with us which were used as well as our own balls, but there is plenty there for younger children. Large television in the living area worked beautifully. There is also a large set in the master bedroom upstairs which we didn't even turn on as we retired late. Beds were all comfortable. Air conditioning is provided however in San Diego it is so humid we felt it would have to work too hard to cool off during the day, and we were out most days on the beach or exploring the community. The property owner was helpful and expressed his desire that we have what we needed to be comfortable. We highly recommend the location, half a block to the bay and a block and a half to the beach. Quiet area, but certainly not restrictive."

  • Loved the Hideaway!

"The Hideaway was a great place for my parents, 2 year old and I to stay. It is conveniently located to Sea World, the beach and Belmont Park. The Hideaway was very clean and comfortable. It was like a home away from home. We hope to return next year."

  • Great place right on the beach!

"My family of 11 was looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay for our first family vacation and from the moment I found NanSea's beach house I knew I had found the perfect house! A simple walk across the boardwalk and the kids were running across soft sand and into the crashing waves! We watched some amazing sunsets from the balcony and upper deck (this was an upper story condo so the back, ground level porch was for the condo below). The hospitality was incredible!!! The property manager, Cindy, went above and beyond for our family. She was kind enough to let us know the day of arrival that the city was doing road maintenance on the street and gave us alternative directions. We had mentioned that it was our son's 7th birthday and when we had arrived, Cindy had some goodies waiting for the adults and a bucket of sand toys, candy, and a birthday card for our son! Such an amazing welcoming and beyond our expectations considering the affordability of the place! The home was incredibly clean! Not a spec of sand wish surprised us as past hotels we have stayed at in the area usually had residual sand on the floor and in the tubs. Very well equipped home, however, you might want to bring some larger insulated cups if you want to take coffee/iced drinks to the beach as the ones there are glass or on the small side. Kitchen has freshly painted white cabinets and amazing, rare, blue, swirled granite that sets the mood perfectly for the beach. Stainless french door fridge with watet and ice dispenser gives you tons of space for groceries or for the leftovers from the many different eating choices in the area. Cindy even helped us get reservations at World Famous up the boardwalk. The one, and only, thing that we did not like was we slept on the full bed on the bottom of the bunk bed and the quality of the matress is fine for kids but not for adults. Other than that, LOVE THIS PLACE! Our family fell in love with this home and Cindy too! We are going to make this a yearly tradition!"

  • Great Proximity to the Beach and Bay

"We chose this location for a family vacation (6 adults and 2 children) and were very happy with the proximity to the beach and the bay. The pros were: The kitchen is spacious and is fully stocked with everything that you could need; the cupboards had spices, sugar, and salt/pepper The grill was wonderful and gave us a night off in the kitchen The view of the bay from the kitchen and outdoor balcony was great--loved watching the nightly fireworks from there! We loved the boogie boards, umbrellas, coolers, and beach chairs. They made the beach experience so much better! The beach and bay are super clean and are not packed with people The bedrooms were spacious and the two masters with the attached bathrooms were perfect. The downstairs bedrooms were great for the kids/parents (the 6 year old loved the loft that she could access from the stairs) Ralphs (grocery store) is in walking distance and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The Catamaran hotel is up the road which offers weekend brunch, a luau, and a great happy hour Major attractions such as Balboa Park, Sea World, Petco Park, etc…are in easy driving distance The cons were: Parking is very tight in the area and be aware that the compact car fitting into the garage needs to be very compact. We ended up parking one of the three cars at the CVS up the road which is $40 per 24 hours--no biggie but just something to keep in mind There is no air conditioning in the house. We were told by locals that this is not usually an issue but there was 75-80% humidity while we there so the house got pretty muggy The homes are built right next to each other so if you have noisy neighbors the sound carries. Fortunately, we only had two bad nights—the Saturday we arrived and the Friday before we left There are no TVs in the downstairs sleeping rooms. It would a great addition in at least one of the rooms. Overall, we were very happy with the house and the experience—thank you!"
