There is a main bathroom suite with bath, shower, bidet, and WC, a second (new) bathroom with WC, walk-in shower and hand-basin, and an en suite bathroom in bedroom three (which has its own separate access and offers a high level of independence). Hot water is supplied by a new system, which also operates the central heating. The house has been decorated to a high standard throughout. It is set in a peaceful and private position, yet close to the buzzing and lively village of Gordes, renowned for its beauty, with its shops and many excellent restaurants. The villa is perfectly located to explore the many attractions of this beautiful region, including nearby hilltop villages such as Gordes, Roussillon and Menerbes, and towns such as Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, and St. Remy de Provence. Paradise in Provence

Les Vallons is an extraordinary place that we recently had the privilege to enoy while on holiday in Provence. It's location about 1/2 hour walk from Murrs and a 15 mnute car ride from Gordes is situated almost secretly in some rolling hills. It is situated off Highway 15A, and not easy to find...in fact we made several wrong turns until we located it. Of all the pictures that we looked at prior to making our decision to stay there, the exterior landscape pictures are certainly understated. The setting is bucolic and evokes a surreal atmosphere. Even though we would visit morning markets, explore the surrounding villages or go bike riding - we were always excited to return to Les Vallons. We often bought the food for evening meals at local markets and then prepared them in the kitchen. One of our favorite places was at the outside dining table under the ivy arbor in the courtyard. It was magnificent, one of the most beautiful settings for dinner. The pictures of the home and property do not show you how vast they are. It was very spacious and very comfortable. Be careful in the living room of the glass table between the couches. Early on our visit I went to turn on a light by the fireplace and on my way back, I bumped into the table and gouged my leg. The swimming pool was beautiful but biting cold (It was early October). At the end of each day we would jump in and get right out within a minute or two. It felt like a Polar Bear dip. We truly loved Les Vallons. It is an incredible place and we felt blessed to be able to spend time there. Dave - Morristown, New Jersey, USA

What a magical place - I can’t recommend Les Vallons strongly enough. The house itself is quite unique; its main feature is the large and beautiful sitting room which has picture windows the entire length of the room that open out out on to the delightful terrace. From here there is a stunning view right over the Luberon hills where we we sat and ate every evening - the only sound to disturb the perfect peace was the chirping of the cicadas. Pure magic. The extensive grounds are beautifully kept with lawns and specimen trees that offer welcome shade for reading and relaxing in the garden on hot days. The pool is large and good for swimming and we often lunched in the well equipped pool area which has its own covered terrace with table, barbecue and fridge. It was hard to leave the delights of the serene and beautiful house and garden to explore the fascinating region of the Luberon with its beautiful hill top villages. Murs itself is a delightful unspoiled village with a village shop and cafe, hotel and good restaurant, garage, post office and library. We enjoyed our morning walk to get bread for breakfast along the tranquil lane that climbs up hill to the village with beautiful views along the way. Other nearby villages are the renowned Gordes, (just a few miles away, with a good selection of shops and sophisticated restaurants) Menerbes (where Peter Mayle lived when he wrote A Year in Provence) Roussillon, Bonnieux and Lacoste - all famous for their beautiful settings. You are also within easy reach of the historic town of Avignon, and Arles and Aix-en Provence, with their artistic associations with Van Gogh and Gaugin, amongst others, are both nearby. We also managed a day at the seaside (the Cote Bleu is just over a hour’s drive away) and took a fascinating trip to the Camargue (an hour and a half) famous for its wild horses. This was a holiday we will never forget - and we very much hope to return to this very special place one day.

This is a truly beautiful house in a fascinating area, perfect for adults, families or groups of friends. The location is stunning: just outside the charming village of Murs and not far from Gordes ( one of the 'Plus Beaux Villages de France") - in an area stuffed full of things to do and places to see, especially the other delightful hill towns and villages scattered in the Luberon valley. The house is built of soft mellow limestone in a fantastic modern design but still retains the feel of an old farmhouse, fitting perfectly into its spectacular surroundings. The outstanding view from the terrace (a perfect place for al fresco meals!) is delightfully symmetrical: straight down the valley with the Luberon mountains in the distance. The interior is spacious and cool in the summer heat and furnished to an elegant high standard. The kitchen wants for nothing in terms of equipment and utensils and it is a delight to produce large, convivial meals! The bathrooms are also modern and spacious. The owners have thoughtfully left an extensive library of books, music and games which means that nothing needs to be taken from home for entertainment. This is such an outstandingly peaceful spot that it is possible to have a truy traditional holiday and make one's own gentle entertainment. The gardens are extensive with a large pool in which it is possible to properly swim and there is a summer kitchen and barbecue adjacent to the pool for jolly meals. As for the surrounding area: for the outward bound there are walking, cycling and canoeing opportunities; for those who love history there is a wealth of historical sights, including Avignon, 45 minutes away; of the hill towns our favourites were Lacoste, Rousillon and Oppede Le Vieux; Isles Sur la Sorgue with its wonderful Sunday market is a must and The Fontaines De Vaucluse is an extraordinary experience! We found the local restaurants to be of a very high standard and there are many to choose from! We fully intend to return to Les Vallons (which we feel would be wonderful at any time of year) and would like to thank the owners for their attention to detail in making our holiday such a success.

This is one of the best holidays we've had. Four weeks allowed us to settle in, and the house sort of became 'our own'. Every need was catered for, fantastic libraries - both books and music - many things we know and love, and a few new ones; exercise - swimming in the large pool and loads of opportunities to walk straight from the house without driving - up to the Col de Murs, to Murs village itself being two walks that we enjoyed. And, not far to go further afield for truly fascinating, and different villages to see - Joucas, Gordes, Goult, Roussillon, LaCoste (a little further), Bonnieux, Menerbes - to name a few. The house is so spacious and designed in such a way that even on the hottest days (and it did get hot!) we could find a cool space. We were only two, but all the bedrooms were attractive. The cleaning was done for us weekly while we were there, unobtrusive - nice to have. And the gardener also came - to speak of the garden - just lovely. We didn't need to do much washing, but the facilities are there if needed. There is a drier!! But drying outside takes minutes. The kitchen has everything you need, and the barbecue by the pool is there for outside cooking. And there are plenty of outside alternatives for eating in different atmospheres at different times of day. It was nice to have basic items - pepper, salt, spices and herbs already there. Thank you for just a great time!

Truth in advertising does exist -- the property actually matched the description and photographs. The house was well-furnished, clean, and comfortable, and the grounds were beautiful and well-manicured. The landscaping was exceptional. The views were truly stunning and watching the fog clear down in the valley in the morning was captivating. While the weather was a tad too cool to use the pool, we were pleasantly surprised by its size and cleanliness. We initially had a problem with accessing the internet, but the enterprising Alex was able to cobble a solution. Though the house is somewhat off the beaten track (and is actually closer to Murs than Gordes), it served as a useful base to visit a large number of villages in the Luberon. We could enjoy the solitude of the countryside in the early morning and evening and experience the sights during the day. The only caveat is that the extremely narrow roads (by US standards) require that you maintain a constant focus when driving. We found the markets to be somewhat overrated (note that many of the same vendors and same goods appear at each one). Some of the villages (e.g., Rousillon and Isle sur Sorgue) were a tad too touristy, but other villages such as Bonnieux and Gordes were enchanting. We also found some of the smaller and sleepier villages such as Murs and Monieux very enjoyable to stroll through. Best of all were the Roman ruins at Glanum, the Pont Julien near Bonnieux, and the medieval/Renaissance castles at Les Baux, Tarascon and Lourmarin. We highly recommend a stay at Les Vallons.
