We could stay anywhere in Eureka Springs and we always choose the PEARL TATMAN HOUSE! The house really does look like the pictures on the website. The outside landscaping is HGTV worthy. It is one of the best spots to watch the world go by. People on carriage rides will stop and take pictures of this elegant lady . You feel very special staying at this home. - Our jacuzzi is set in the 100 year old limestone "cold room" behind the house but is situated with a view to the pond, out the door. We received the "Yard of the season" award recently following the addition of the pond, streams, patio, and many decorative trees. We have placed over 30 beautifully framed original oil paintings, throughout the house, as well as many antiques and period touches to reflect the tenor of the times when Pearl lived in the house. This house is prominently featured in "America's Painted Ladies", a large coffee table book with photos of Victorians across the U.S. The house was constructed at the turn of the century by the most exclusive builders of the time, the Perkins lumber company, as an example of their expertise. Its unique, steamboat style Queen Anne design makes the home one of the most magnetic drive by "must see" tourist attractions in the city. The master bed room and Daisey's room doors open to the upper veranda, so running water sounds murmer.

Richard is a retired international airline pilot and Bonnie is an artist/master picture framer. We own Art Happens, an art gallery on the picturesque Northern Oregon Coast. As Gallery owners we were able to be very selective in our procurement of the over thirty original oils that now grace the Pearl's home. Bonnie lovingly framed and placed each offering, benefiting from her over 20 years experience as a master framer. We moved to the West Coast 10 years ago but could not resist the chance to own and operate an enchantment as historic and compelling as the Pearl Tatman House, so we purchased it as soon as it became available in 2005. We love to travel and whenever possible we immerse ourselves in the particular flavor, culture and history of whatever region we find ourselves in. Art Happens is not only the name of our art gallery, it is a deep belief and a standard we attempt to adhere to in all our endeavors. The Pearl Tatman house afforded us an amazing opportunity to express this life goal, and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to be her temporary caretakers. Pearl enriches our lives in many ways and we are proud and confident to offer her grace, charm and ambiance to all her guests and it is our hope that all who stay with her come away with that special feeling we always find when we are able to spend time with this special, gracious Victorian lady.

I felt like I went back in time, with the beautiful antiques and Stunning Art. The front porch area was serene, and had a wonderful view. Quiet and comfortable. I hope to return to the Pearl.

We stayed at The Pearl Tatman house over Labor Day weekend and could not have asked for a better stay! The Pearl's unique charm and history made for one of the best trips we have ever taken. The ambiance truely enabled us to have the most relaxing weekend! Everything about the house was perfect! We enjoyed sitting outside in the beautiful weather while while listening to the sound of the brooke in the front yard. Another great aspect of the house is that it is that is in walking distance from Main street, so we walked into town for all of our meals and shopping! We also thouroughly enjoyed the outside hot tub. Eureka Springs itself has plenty to offer! Overall, I give the Pearl 5 stars and hope to be back soon!!!! Thank you for such a wonderful weekend!

We just loved our 3 night stay in "The Pearl!" The home has such a lovely and authentic personality as well as all the amenities needed to ensure a relaxing stay. The beds are so comfortable, we slept better than we had in years! In the mornings, it was so nice to make coffee and sit outside next to the babbling brook in both the adirondack and rocking chairs. We walked to town every morning and night, which was just so wonderful! Loved bathing in the large, claw-foot tub! We will definitely make the Pearl Tatman house and new tradition every Labor Day!

This is our family's first choice when planning to stay in Eureka Springs. The price is comparable to staying up on the highway, out of the historic district, but if you are going to stay out there you might as well stay home. I have been familiar with this house since 1969 and it has never looked better or been more well cared for. Staying here you are in one of the very houses that brings everyone to town. With the period furnishings it's easy to imagine what it was like to be the original owner. Every part of town is within easy walking distance and everything you need for a comfortable stay is in the house already. Our first choice.

I have stayed at the Pearl Tatman twice, with the most recent visit being in July 2008. The house is charming and is conveniently located to historic downtown Eureka Springs. It is refreshing to be able to drive in and never use the car until it's time to leave. Shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. The house is neat and clean and very cozy. It really feels like a home away from home, instead of your typical hotel room. I would recommend staying at this property.

My wife (then girlfriend) and I had a wonderful time at this historic Eureka property. It really embodies what Eureka Springs is all about - a relaxing & cozy getaway from real life. The house was warm and welcoming. The hot tub was a superb feature of the property! Parking was easy and the shopping and eating joints were within walking distance. The owner was easy to work with, and even though we weren't able to arrive until late in the evening, they were willing to accommodate us. Definitely would recommend to couples looking for a weekend getaway and want a taste of what Eureka Springs has to offer!

My fiance and I stayed in the Pearl Tatman house last fall. We were in town for a football game, but I didn't want to leave Eureka or the Pearl! The house has tons of old world charm in its architecture and artwork. We especially loved all the old vintage signs in the kitchen. The little outside room with the Jacuzzi tub was a special treat that we really enjoyed. The upstairs bathroom is a little cramped, but it adds to the charm in my opinion. I can't say enough about the landscaping in the front with the lightning, vegetation, ponds and waterfalls. It truly is a special place to enjoy the outdoors and enjoy an evening. I look forward to our next trip to Eureka, and will definitely stay in the Pearl again.

Beware of Bats

There was a colony of bats living in the chimney during our stay on June 2-5, 2011. The manager was contacted and did send a maintenance man out and he secured the old ash pan in the flue inside the kitchen area. However, the bats are very resourceful and did reappear, we even found 2 hanging on the back of a painting. The owner was contacted and her response was that we stayed so we accepted the terms, not even one night would be compensated. She was very rude, would not communicate and even hung up the phone to end our converstation. I wouldn't count on any service if you have issues of any kind.
Owner response:We feel a deep responsibility to do whatever we can do to preserve the legacy of our property. We have contracted with a pest control company and they have developed the required federally approved program for displacement of the winged varmints from our property. Rest assured we now have a system in place to prevent a re-occurrence of the bat problem . For over a hundred years, this historic home has been a comfortable and welcome refuge for our guests, and it is our intention to do whatever is required to help sustain the ambiance and hospitality which has for so long been associated with this property. As always, it is our intent to make a stay here a memorable and reaffirming experience for each and every one of our guests. Bonnie & Richard
