  • Great room and accomodating hosts

"We are frequent visitors to Eureka and have stayed in many of the hotels in town...Basin Park, Flatiron Flats, New Orleans, Rogue's Manor. This condo was very nice. We enjoyed sitting out on our deck, we loved the cleanliness and the newness of the room and the furnishings. The bottled water and the snacks were a nice touch too. The ONLY drawback to me was the long walk to the center of town. It IS walking distance, so you can park and walk, which we did, and if you leave by late morning, you can get parking all day for just $5 so it's not a big deal. In fact, it's worth it for the savings over the price of the hotels that compare in quality to the condo. We were in #9, and I was concerned bc people complained about the size, but we found it to be comparable to a hotel room, and had no complaints. We would certainly recommend it to others and would stay again."

  • A Perfect Family Getaway

"I house was as great as I hope it would be. The was a personalize message and plate of warm cookies waiting on the counter for us on our arrival. There was plenty of room for everyone. There were also good spots to take family photos. The kitchen was amazing! It had all the pots and pan that might be needed. I would definitely book this again, without any hesitation."

  • Heavenly view!

"Sunsets and sunrises go on forever on the balcony. Perfect blend of amenities and yet still a cabin feel. You will be drawn to the view of the white river. Sounds of nature with a fresh cup of coffee in the morning will melt away the stress. My family and I have stayed here three times. Carla and Louis are the sweetest people. Very close to town though you feel very secluded!"

  • A review with info

"We have traveled to E S for many years and have stayed many places. This is the first time we have booked something thru VRBO. I read many of the reviews before picking a place. Below is a review I would have liked to read. First this cottage is 2 stories, the stairs inside and out side are steep. Not for folks not able to climb, but then none of E S is for those kind of folks. The floor that the entry door opens up to is the bedroom/sitting area. The kitchen and bath are down stairs. (that means one has to go down stairs in the middle of night for a bathroom run. Steep stairs.) The stairs outside leading to the cottage are stone stairs, but there is a hand rail use it! Once inside it was a bit cold and took awhile for us to get it warmed up. One of the windows could not close all the way, so we stuffed a towel in it. Speaking of that, the window in the bathroom makes it less than private while showering. And there was hole in the glass. We covered the window as best we could. The closet for hanging clothes is located in the bathroom down stairs. The kitchen was great, if we had wanted to we could have cooked a large meal with all that was provided. But we did not. We did use the coffee maker and used the fridge to house the food we brought with us. The place is about 3/4 of a mile from the main downtown area. We walked it a couple of times, and also drove in. This was our first time to come in December and found it to be a very slow time of year. But we enjoyed it. The bedroom area is just that, mostly bed with 2 chairs. The TV is there but not too many channels. A nice sofa would have been nice. This review may sound negative, but it meant to give facts to enable one to make a decision on renting this property. It was fairly clean, it has its own parking place, which may be hard for some folks to navigate. The price was right. All in all not a bad place. The owners seemed nice through our emails, even letting us add another date. This place is worth checking out. If you need just a place to lay your head, have a bit to eat this is it."
