This log cabin lodge was built and shipped to Oregon by one of the premier log home builders in Montana . We were looking for the true feel of the west . Some of the more common comments from our guest. " Just 30 minutes drive from Ashland and you feel like your in the middle of Idaho's wilderness. " Its like walking into a Sunset magazine article with all the cabin decor ". The large river rock masonry fireplace offers a great area for sitting, relaxing and conversing with family and friends. The log dinning room table will easily sit 10 . We have an outside cottage for those wanting a little more privacy . It has a gas fireplace. Flat screen TV , and Queen bed. The master bedroom has a log queen bed with a antique claw foot tub and sink in the room. Why the Owner Chose Ashland
It offers so much to do and is a great escape from the heat of the valley in the summer months. The cross country skiing , hiking, biking and just the remote feeling of its location . Its 1/2 mile from the Pacific Crest Trail.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Rest and relaxation. A great place with clean air and water. Don't bring bottled water , as the water in the tap is as good as it gets. Watching the sunrise over the lake while having your morning coffee on the deck or sitting in the fire pit looking as stars or go for a canoe on the lake , It doesn't get much better than this. Don't forget you bike, rides are great both mountain and road. For those wanting to see Crater Lake there is a back rout taking you into the East entrance. It's a drive you won't want to miss. If you are into bird watching my biology professor counted 210 different species of birds from the front deck.
Owner's Map of Ashland
This is not really me but it is my son. It was such a great fish that I had to show it . I was born in Ashland in 1951. My grandfather used to bring me to Hyatt lake every summer for a week of camping and fishing. When I was on one of my bike rides from Ashland I noticed a for sale sign in the grass that appeared to have been there for a long time. I jotted the number down and thought what a great place this would be should it still be for sale . As fate would have it it was . After many years of remodeling rebuilding etc. I thought what a sham that more people don't get to experience Hyatt lake as I did growing up. That is why we offer this experience for you, your family and friends.

Beauty on Hyatt Lake

We just concluded our yearly family reunion visit with our California cousins at Hyatt Lake. We were a group of 4 couples (no kids). The location was outstanding, right on the shore of Hyatt Lake and, on this trip, a winter snow fall. A couple of comments about the cabin. The kitchen was well equipped and very serviceable, and the living room area also was very commodious and capable of making our group of 8 very comfortable. But we would take issue with listing the accommodations as 3 bedroom/3 bath. To our way of thinking, there were only 2 full baths available in the cabin. The sink and tub in the ground floor master suite with no toilet should not be characterized as a bath. And the outside unattached bedroom had no bath facilities whatsoever. To stay in that bedroom and contemplate bathroom use in the middle of the night would have required steps across the yard in the freezing cold to the main house. Also, although equipped with a TV, we could not obtain a satellite connection to the dish in the main house. In the end, we decided not to use the unattached bedroom at all, which necessitated 2 of our couples to be bedded in the four singles in the loft. Not exactly luxurious. For a return visit of our group to the Ashland area, we will look for more traditional bedroom accommodations, each with their own bathrooms.
Owner response:Were sorry that these guests felt mislead about our bathroom configurations. We do offer a great experience with a wonderful setting having said that, it is a cabin and not a luxurious hotel. Had they informed me that they needed a bathroom for each couple I would have referred them to Ashland Springs Hotel.

I was very impressed with the cabin and its surroundings. I will and have recommended this place to all of my friends. It is perfect for families with children and pets. There was so much to do at the cabin we never even made it to the lake. The views were spectacular. My favorite part of our stay was having my coffee on the deck and watching the mist roll over the lake.
Owner response:Nice to hear that you had lots to do . One of the most commonly asked questions from potential guests is "what is there to do" ? My reply is to relax and enjoy the peace and quite.

Curry Cabin is a treat to visit, not only for the location on beautiful Lake Hyatt and it's proximity to Ashland, but for every detail designed for a guest's comfort and relaxation. The cabin is roomy yet feels cozy and has an ambiance that speaks to the beauty of the woods and nature. The creative detail in the furnishings and artwork is obvious from the minute you enter the front gate to the moment you step out on the deck to enjoy the unobstructed lake view. It's a jewel.
Owner response:A lot of thought and heart went into the design of the Cabin , We appreciate guests who see all of the details . We spent many years collecting all the antiques making certain they went with the cabin. Being a builder of 30 years this cabin with out a doubt is one of my best projects Thank you for your kind words . Randy

We went up around the end of March and had fresh snow everyday. The cabin was beautiful and as advertised with the exception of the hot-tub, which was out of order. Everything was clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We didn't get out much, just went out in the snow. The drive to Ashland was about 35 minutes, but in the summer it might be a little faster.
Owner response:We have had such a hard winter that we lost the Hot tub due to freezing . That being said the guest had come for snow and boy did they get it . We must have gotten 3 ft while these guests were there. Their kids made the best of it and made a great snow cave. The snow makes the experience complete especially if your looking to go cross country skiing or sledding . Randy
