Playa Cofresi is a lazy seaside community three miles from the city of Puerto Plata. Mt Isabel de Torres sits high above in the distant background. The rocky hills are peppered with white villas set against lush green and flowered landscapes. Deep blue sky, white puffy clouds overhead and dark blue ocean below set the pace in this tropical paradise. You are about to experience casual living at it's finest. The climate is ideal and the dollar is strong. Relax, and prepare for fun!
Getting there is easy. Playa Cofresi is off the major highway, only a twenty five minute drive from the Puerto Plata International Airport. A ninety minute drive from the Santiago International Airport.
Our villa, sits at the end of a quiet lane along with five other villas. It's a larger property surrounded by mature lush landscaping, providing both privacy and shade. Various flowers, cacti and many varieties of trees, including fruit and palms. Key lime, avocado, cherry, banana, orange, grapefruit, coconut, and mango are there for the picking when in season.
The swimming pool was recently completed, is surrounded by tall trees that allows sun and protective shade throughout the day. The area around the pool has river stone rather than cement which is much cooler to the touch.
A short walk down the hill is Cofresi beach. Seldom crowded, the beach is ideal for walking, wading, swimming, or body surfing. There are native huts along the beach where you can browse and bargain. No need to pack bulky beach towels as we provide them to you.
FIRST FLOOR Beyond the foyer, is the dining room which seats up to ten. The living room has custom made bentwood furniture. There is a den with bar and twin daybeds, full kitchen, powder room with separate bath, L-shaped patio with glassed enclosed sliding doors. Servants quarters behind the kitchen provide privacy but close by to serve all your needs.
SECOND FLOOR A large family room, wet bar, private sitting area, library, game table, outside L-shaped deck with an ocean view. Three individual bedroom suites with full baths including bidets. Each have dressing rooms with vanities. All three bedrooms have ample closet space. Two of the bedrooms have king size beds and one has twin single beds which can be converted into a queen size bed. The second floor is air conditioned. Ceiling fans in all rooms as well as screened in sliding windows to catch light and ocean breezes.
Emma, our housekeeper, has been overseeing our villa for twenty-two years. She speaks English and is a fine cook. She can prepare American meals as well as native dishes. Her specialties include; seafood, chicken, beef, pork, and great salads. Try Emma's native black bean soup or plantano chips. Also, pizza! For dessert try her freshly picked key lime pie. Great oatmeal cookies too! Plan your menu and go to the market with Emma.
Your rooms will be made up and cleaned daily. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served on the patio, pool or in the dining room. Your laundry will be washed on a as needed basis.
Our villa is managed by Gabino Binet. He will pick you up at the airport and bring you to our villa. He will provide you with a cell phone so that you can stay in contact with him. Gabino will have food, drinks, and any special items waiting for you upon your arrival. In addition, he will arrange your excurions and accommodate all of your special requests. At the end of your visit, Gabino will return you safely back to the airport.
Family owned 26 years, we are now sharing our villa with responsible family oriented people. We hope that you will enjoy your stay at our villa and come back year after year. You will find the Dominican people happy and friendly. There are many things to do and places to see on the North Coast. A wonderful place to share with the entire family, friends or a quiet romantic holiday.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa
Our secluded property is large. Over the past 25 years, we created our own 'garden of eden'. Tall shade trees, many bearing fruit and flowers. Green lawns throughout. More recently, we built a swimming pool in a beautiful setting. Inside, our villa is large with all the modern conviences. Emma, our housekeeper has been with us over twenty years. She oversees everything. There is nothing for us to do other than to relax and enjoy.

Our villa has been in my family over 25 years. There have been improvements with the roads, electricity, and water. Today there are Super Markets! With modern technology it is now possible to stay in touch with the rest of the world. Travel is easier with several American based carriers that fly directly into Puerto Plata. The people are still warm and friendly, but now are more educated and have better employment opportunities.
