Rancho Pura Vida is a 40 acre property of rolling hills, pasture and manicured grounds. The villa has beautiful views of the Central Valley and the mountains. The cool climate at 5500 feet elevation makes this a paradise of eternal spring time. The village of Los Angeles is walking distance with grocery store, several restaurants and pharmacy.
There is a farmer's street market every Sunday in San Rafael. The bus passes right by the gate of Rancho Pura Vida. The Capital City of San Jose is 30 minutes away and offers world class entertainment, dining, shopping, museums and parks. From Ranch Pura Vida, one can take day trips to volcanoes, rain forest, white water rafting, zip-lining through the rainforest canopy, horseback riding and hiking. There is a fully equipped gym in San Rafael (5 minutes away).
Rancho Pura Vida is gated. The Henderson family, 30 year residents originally from the Florida Keys, reside in the main house, a 100 year old farm residence. Also in residence on the property are the two mares, Roxie and Princes Gabriella and Roxie's 2 year old gelding, Domingo. This villa was built in 2008. It has a fully equipped kitchen and jacuzzi bath. It is also handicapped accessible and has spectacular views of the Central Valley.

Year Purchased: 2008
My family discovered Costa Rica back in the 60's when, on a travel trailer trip we drove from Marathon, Florida to San Jose Costa Rica in 1967. My parents retired there in 1986. Costa Rica had been our family vacation place all these years and we just completed the cabins in 2008 with the idea to make them available for vacation rentals.
Why the Owner Chose Los Angeles de Heredia
The mountains of Costa Rica are one of the best kept secrets. Spring Time temperatures all year round, the location being close to the Capital City of San Jose makes it convenient to the international airport of Juan Santa Maria (You can be at SJO in 35 minutes), fine dining, world class entertainment and shopping, yet one can retreat back to the rural hideaway in 30 minutes and be in the country side overlooking the bustling city with it's twinkling lights at night.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
The cabins (five in all) were built in 2009. They are situated on 37 acres of rolling pastures and border a stream. The entire property is fenced for security and the neighboring farms provide a buffer from the outside world. The cool nights and clear mornings (even in the rainy season) have earned this area to be named one of the best climates in the world.
