Frederic cabin description
We would like to welcome you to our North Woods Log Cabin that is on the Clam Falls Flowage( which is a 154 acre lake)and is constantly renewed with fresh water from 3 different streams that flow thru McKenzie's Wildlife Reserve, and is only 90 Minutes from the Twin Cities. It is a place to relax, create, inspire, mend and rejuvenate in the surroundings of the N.W. Wisconsin Wilderness.
Our cabin is open all year and is very secluded with trees surrounding our 4 acres. The cabin is situated in a park like setting with a beautiful view of the lake overlooking a 3,000 acre state land preserve. Our cabin life during the Summer is filled with long sunny days of swimming, fishing, boating, campfires and going to sleep with cool nights and the call of the Loon. In the Fall the colors are beautiful, and Winter is one of our favorite times at the cabin.
It is so quiet and peaceful and we like falling asleep reading books, sitting in front of the fire in the wood burning stove. We have close to 1,000 ft of shoreline and we are 500 ft from the entrance to Mc Kenzies Wildlife Reserve with walking trails and snowmobile trails in the winter. The Ice Age Trail borders the lake as well as several trout streams, which are the water source for the lake. Cross country skiing and Downhill skiing are nearby.
Our cabin sleeps 8 and has 2 bedrooms on the main floor, One with a Queen size bed, and the other with a full size bed. There is a large loft area with a pull out couch bed and two twin beds. All Linens are provided and we have flannel sheets and down comforters on the beds in the Fall & Winter. We have one full bathroom with tub and shower on the main level. The kitchen is fully stocked with stove, microwave, and refrigerator and all the dishes, pans, coffee pot and cooking supplies you need. We have 2 grills outside for grilling. The cabin is 10 years old and has the feel of a solid wood ship with vaulted ceilings, log stairs, railings and large panoramic window walls throughout the cabin to bring in the beauty of the outdoors. It is so nice to sit in the 4-season porch in the morning while having coffee and breakfast and watching the sun rise.
Siren, Luck and Frederic are all less than 15 minutes away providing exceptional golfing and quality dining options, fun shopping and any other groceries and supplies you may need.
Duluth MN. harbor on Lake Superior is 75 minutes door to door.

Homey & delightful!
Homey & delightful!
The photos of this beautiful cabin hooked me immediately! I had been hoping for a cabin getaway that truly was in a *log cabin* and not merely a nice house in another city or state. This fit the bill on every level - very convenient to the Twin Cities (I grudgingly came back into St. Paul for a work commitment one of the nights of my stay), a charming, homey and comfortable atmosphere, and a very good price. The owners have added so many thoughtful touches that really make the cabin feel like it's "yours." My favorites were the abundance of jigsaw puzzles and board games, really nice linens in the bed and bath, interesting books and magazines to leaf through, and all the supplies necessary for a cozy fire. I LOVED not hearing the telephone for 3 days, and while I had no cell phone service, my iPad did have limited reception for one or two "just-in-case" email checks. I love colder weather, so this wonderfully cozy cabin was an ideal fall choice for me! I'm sure it's equally nice in warm weather, though, as there is a boat dock, outdoor fire pit, BBQ grill, and ceiling fans throughout the cabin to keep air moving. One girlfriend and I spent the weekend there, although it would easily and comfortably accommodate 4-8+, depending on your sleeping arrangements. The owners were very friendly and great communicators. I will definitely return to this nearby gem next time I need a woodsy escape!!

Perfect place to get unplugged!

What a fantastic place! As opposed to many rental properties, NO PHONE has so many personal touches throughout the cabin that you truly feel like you are staying at the cabin of a close family friend! No phone, no internet, no cell phone coverage, no tv reception - was absolutely great to truly disconnect and get down to basics! and what a setting, beautiful woods, lake, fantastic scenery along the country roads. Will definately be coming back again!!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the NO PHONE cabin with our daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and dog. Everything was exactly as listed and the owner was friendly and prompt to answer emails and even sent some additional pictures. The cabin was clean and spacious. The long flat front yard area was great for lawn games. We loved the indoor fireplace for those chilly mornings. Our dog was in heaven and we enjoyed the paddle boat and canoe. The upstairs room was large and great for video viewing or playing games.

We had an excellent stay at the No Phone Cabin. Jacki was extremely helpful and friendly leading up to the trip. You can tell she really cares about their home/cabin and their guests. The cabin was just as nice as it appears in the pictures. They made sure to have so many supplies on hand that it is just like coming to your own personal home. The kids (10, 12, 14) loved the boats - especially the canoes and paddleboats. Our dog loved playing and swimming to his heart's content. Everyone was exhausted each night. Because of the cabin's location, you really do feel like you are secluded. I don't think we ever saw anyone else other than one other person on a boat during our time there. There is no television reception, but we enjoyed lighting a fire each night (it was very cool for July) and playing all games and puzzles provided in the cabin. One thing to be aware of: just the like name implies, there is no phone in the cabin and we had no cell service with two different cell phone carriers. That did make us a little nervous in case there was to be any sort of emergency or accident. Especially in light of the cabin's isolation. Just something to be aware of, but it wouldn't necessarily prevent us from renting again.

Cozy and Comfortable
We had a snowy April stay, but the wood burning stove kept us warm. Jackie was very attentive and responsive to all of our requests. She made sure our stay was enjoyable. Wonderful walking trails, very private, and a well equipped kitchen. We loved it.

What a fabulous cozy cabin. We loved getting away at the "No Phone" cabin. We had our boys and niece and nephews come along with NO electronics! It was a great time to bond, play board games, enjoy each other's company with no interruptions. This is a great way to unwind and enjoy nature. The weather was great, we caught fish and had a fish fry on our last night. This place has everything you need with cute vintage decor. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!

Peaceful and Tranquil
Peaceful and Tranquil
The photos for the No Phone Log Cabin are dead on. Everything was clean and ready for us on our arrival. Jacki was a pleasure to work with and always prompt in returning phone calls and/or e-mails. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing location to unwind from a hectic lifestyle. The only problem with recommending this cabin, though, is that we may have a more difficult time finding an open week! It was also a great location for our small dog to enjoy the freedom that he normally doesn't have at home. Hated to leave.

Eight of us (6 adults and 2 children ages 4 and 6) stayed here from 6/15 - 6/18 for a short getaway from the everyday hustle in the cities. Jacki was very easy to work with and does a wonderful job making you feel welcome to use their cabin. The pictures do not do it justice believe it or not. Definitely exceeded my expectations. We were able to have bonfires, fish, birdwatch, grill, butterfly hunt, go for walks, laugh and enjoy being with family. It's close to downtown Frederic and Siren if you need to get supplies. The boat launch is a short drive from the cabin. Sleeping arrangements were good and the open floor plan really worked for all of us to sit down and enjoy meals together. The cabin has plenty of seating to accommodate larger groups but would also be fine for 1 or 2 coules. My wife is already asking if just her and I can go up alone with our dog to get away again. I told her, "of course we can" and we will be doing just that! Look forward to staying again :-) Thanks much!

Wonderful relaxing, refreshing, and quiet. My husband and I spent a week here, it was just what we needed. We walked, took the paddle boat out, enjoyed the stars and the full moon, read and we rediscovered the joy of "being" instead of "doing". Beautiful cabin, beautiful place. Thank you so much!

We rented this BEAUTIFUL cabin to get away for a few days with our kids/their spouses and grandchildren, and also brought our dog, Taylor. It was PERFECT! Our oldest grandaugher caught fish off the dock, the youngest grandaughter jumped in her jumper-roo on the lovely lawn, while gazing at the lake and trees, and Taylor the dog learned how to swim off the dock. We did the paddleboats, canoes, and the our kids tubed and did some fishing from their boat. At night we had bonfires by the lake, while the fireflies blinked all around us. Lots of room in the cabin for all of us-so playing games was also alot of fun. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us!

About the owner: My husband Christian and I decided to build our log cabin as a wedding present to each other. We have been married 13 years now and wanted a place to get away from our daily, hectic life. We love the Frederic/ Siren area and it is only 90 minutes away to get the 'up north' feeling. My husband loves kayaking, canoeing, swimming and hiking and I love quilting and working on all kinds of art projects. Our cabin is our sanctuary and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Frederic:
We decided to build in the Frederic/ Siren area because of its closeness to the Twin Cities and its beautiful 'up North' feel. Having McKenzie's Wildlife Reserve just steps away also helps bring nature close to the cabin and all the wildlife we see. It is a very special place and so are the people. There are also Apple Orchards, tons of Golfing and lots of fun things to do when you are there.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Beautiful scenery, birds everywhere, great fishing and swimming and lots of deer and wildlife. Beautiful loon calls, and a 'up north' feel. Apple Orchards are near by and snowmobile trails on the edge of our property. Large windows in the cabin bring the outdoors in, and our 4 season porch with window walls lets you enjoy wildlife without them knowing you are there.
