We would like to welcome you to our North Woods Log Cabin that is on the Clam Falls Flowage( which is a 154 acre lake)and is constantly renewed with fresh water from 3 different streams that flow thru McKenzie's Wildlife Reserve, and is only 90 Minutes from the Twin Cities. It is a place to relax, create, inspire, mend and rejuvenate in the surroundings of the N.W. Wisconsin Wilderness.

Our cabin is open all year and is very secluded with trees surrounding our 4 acres. The cabin is situated in a park like setting with a beautiful view of the lake overlooking a 3,000 acre state land preserve. Our cabin life during the Summer is filled with long sunny days of swimming, fishing, boating, campfires and going to sleep with cool nights and the call of the Loon. In the Fall the colors are beautiful, and Winter is one of our favorite times at the cabin.

It is so quiet and peaceful and we like falling asleep reading books, sitting in front of the fire in the wood burning stove. We have close to 1,000 ft of shoreline and we are 500 ft from the entrance to Mc Kenzies Wildlife Reserve with walking trails and snowmobile trails in the winter. The Ice Age Trail borders the lake as well as several trout streams, which are the water source for the lake. Cross country skiing and Downhill skiing are nearby.

Our cabin sleeps 8 and has 2 bedrooms on the main floor, One with a Queen size bed, and the other with a full size bed. There is a large loft area with a pull out couch bed and two twin beds. All Linens are provided and we have flannel sheets and down comforters on the beds in the Fall & Winter. We have one full bathroom with tub and shower on the main level. The kitchen is fully stocked with stove, microwave, and refrigerator and all the dishes, pans, coffee pot and cooking supplies you need. We have 2 grills outside for grilling. The cabin is 10 years old and has the feel of a solid wood ship with vaulted ceilings, log stairs, railings and large panoramic window walls throughout the cabin to bring in the beauty of the outdoors. It is so nice to sit in the 4-season porch in the morning while having coffee and breakfast and watching the sun rise.

Siren, Luck and Frederic are all less than 15 minutes away providing exceptional golfing and quality dining options, fun shopping and any other groceries and supplies you may need.

Duluth MN. harbor on Lake Superior is 75 minutes door to door.

Why the Owner Chose Frederic

We decided to build in the Frederic/ Siren area because of its closeness to the Twin Cities and its beautiful "up North" feel. Having McKenzie's Wildlife Reserve just steps away also helps bring nature close to the cabin and all the wildlife we see. It is a very special place and so are the people. There are also Apple Orchards, tons of Golfing and lots of fun things to do when you are there.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Beautiful scenery, birds everywhere, great fishing and swimming and lots of deer and wildlife. Beautiful loon calls, and a "up north" feel. Apple Orchards are near by and snowmobile trails on the edge of our property. Large windows in the cabin bring the outdoors in, and our 4 season porch with window walls lets you enjoy wildlife without them knowing you are there.

Owner's Map of Frederic

My husband Christian and I decided to build our log cabin as a wedding present to each other. We have been married 12 years now and wanted a place to get away from our daily, hectic life. We love the Frederic/ Siren area and it is only 90 minutes away to get the "up north" feeling. My husband loves kayaking, canoeing, swimming and hiking and I love quilting and working on all kinds of art projects. Our cabin is our sanctuary and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Refreshing!

Wonderful relaxing, refreshing, and quiet. My husband and I spent a week here, it was just what we needed. We walked, took the paddle boat out, enjoyed the stars and the full moon, read and we rediscovered the joy of "being" instead of "doing". Beautiful cabin, beautiful place. Thank you so much!

MAGICAL!

We rented this BEAUTIFUL cabin to get away for a few days with our kids/their spouses and grandchildren, and also brought our dog, Taylor. It was PERFECT! Our oldest grandaugher caught fish off the dock, the youngest grandaughter jumped in her jumper-roo on the lovely lawn, while gazing at the lake and trees, and Taylor the dog learned how to swim off the dock. We did the paddleboats, canoes, and the our kids tubed and did some fishing from their boat. At night we had bonfires by the lake, while the fireflies blinked all around us. Lots of room in the cabin for all of us-so playing games was also alot of fun. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us!

What a wonderful place to getaway to!!! The description of the property and accommodations was very accurate. We have stayed at many rentals "up north" but this was the most clean and well kept out of any of them. Jacki & Christian's communications were always very pleasant, made us feel welcome and answered any of our questions up front. Definitely a 1st class experience we would recommend to anyone looking to get away from it all. We will definitely return again!

The No Phone Log Cabin is a wonderful place to get away!! There are a ton of things to do while you're there, however our favorite thing to do was to just "be". The listing was right on, the cabin is even more beautiful than the pictures. Very well maintained and clean. We enjoyed the secluded location, lake front views, wood burning fireplace, comfortable bed, fully stocked kitchen, 4 season porch with rocking chairs, hearing the call of the loon, seeing the wildlife in the yard...to name a few. We were awakened by a symphony of songbirds and lulled to sleep by a chorus of frogs. We spent our days talking, reading, napping and taking a ton of pictures. If you are looking for the "up north" experience, this is the place for you!

This is our second stay at No Phone!! cabin. Our first stay was in the middle of summer and this time we tried the winter scene. It is beautiful even in the middle of the winter! We tried ice fishing, walked the trails of Mckenzie Wildlife area, which we discovered this visit, is right down the street! Very private and peaceful setting. We would highly recommend it. Thanks again Jacki and Christian for a great visit!!

Experience Number 1 Last winter my significant other and I enjoyed the tranquil winter atmosphere of the Clam Falls area. We hiked through the snow with our dog, Abby, in the nearby preserve and cross country skied a few miles down the road. But nothing was more enjoyable than snuggling by the fire at night with a glass of wine. Experience Number 2 The fall leaves were close to peak, the air crisp and cool. For a group of seven friends and golfers, it was a near perfect weekend. Our gorgeous log cabin was located centrally to Spooner, Siren and Cumberland courses. Lots of laughter and fun! Thank you, Jacki and Christian for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.

Wonderful, serene getaway!

Guest: Kari (Minneapolis)
Date of Stay: 08/12/10 Review Submitted: 08/25/10

We enjoyed a fantastic long weekend at the cabin in August 2010. Our family had a great time swimming, canoeing, sunbathing, sitting by the campfire and generally just relaxing. The cabin is beautiful - exactly what we picture when we think of a peaceful log cabin vacation home. Jacki and Christian were very organized and everything was ready for us when we arrived. The cabin is well-equipped with all kitchen supplies, extra linens and towels, lots of board games, etc. Highly recommended for anyone looking to escape the hectic life of the city for a peaceful, secluded getaway. We look forward to returning. -Kari and family

My husband and I stayed at No Phone!! Log Cabin the last week of July and absolutely loved it! The log home itself is beautiful, lots or room, and is very clean. The property is very private and secluded with beautiful views of the lake. Great fishing right off the dock! The owners were always very prompt, nice and very helpful with any questions I had. We would definitely rent this place again and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful, private setting for their vacation.

We stayed over the 4th of July week and watched the fireworks from the dock. The first couple nights were very hot; however, with the ceiling and box fans that are provided the cabin stayed comfortable to sleep in. The setting is very private, with an easy walk to the dock. We have a 16' boat with a 75 horse and were able to knee board and tube on the lake, touch too small to ski. The landing is very nice with good concrete and nice depth. My wife's Grandparents spent some time with us and had no problems going from cabin to water. The owner's and caretaker did an excellent job making sure we were very well taken care of.
