Windswept 2 is a newly constructed (2009) two bedroom, two bathroom oceanfront condominium perched on a cliffside. It is one of five condominiums located on this 1.3 acre property with breathtaking views from every window. At night enjoy the sparkling lights of St. Thomas across the bay and listen to the waves crashing against the rocks and the trade winds blowing.
Enjoy your morning coffee on either the front or back lanai watching the cruise ships arrive in St. Thomas Harbor. In the evening, enjoy cocktails at the swim up bar, in the 12X30 pool, overlooking Flamingo Bay. If you tire of lounging around the pool, the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean can be enjoyed at Honeymoon Beach, which is a short five minute ride in the four person golf cart available during your stay. You will find Heidi's Honeymoon Grill on the beach offering lunch most days of the week. On Saturday evenings, you can enjoy the true island experience of an excellent gourmet dinner, served by Heidi, on the beach. Relax with the sound of the water lapping at the shore and the sun setting over the ocean.
For a change of pace, St. Thomas is ten minutes away by public ferry offering shopping and world class restaurants. If golf is your passion, the beautiful golf course, Mahogany Run is located on St. Thomas. After enjoying the city amenities, return to quiet, laid back Water Island where golf carts out number vehicles.

Why the Owner Chose USVI - Water Island
A few years ago, friends told us about a piece of oceanfront property in the Caribbean that housed an old five-unit military barrack. Our friends were looking for four other couples to build a total of five units on the site. While my wife and I never considered the possibility of owning oceanfront property in the Caribbean, this seemed like a great opportunity. Without even discussing it, my wife and I looked at each other and said "yes".
In 2006, we put a down payment on the property, before even seeing it. We had never heard of Water Island! If our adult children did something like this, we would call them irresponsible!
Stepping on the property for the first time was unbelievable. How could we not have known about Water Island? The pictures we had seen just didn't come close to the amazing views all around. Maybe we weren't so crazy after all! This was definitely one of those "Once in a lifetime opportunities!" We knew immediately that owning a vacation home on this spot was going to be very special. We could not believe that we had been lucky enough to fall into this and kept waiting for everything to fall apart!
For the next three years, we planned and worked towards completing this villa from our home in Maine. No easy feat, and lots of "oh by the ways!" Building on an island is difficult enough, doing it from a distance, adds to the fun!!!
In the Fall of 2009, our vacation home was completed and we started sharing it with our family and close friends. Their first reactions on seeing Water Island and Windswept were: "Unbelievable, gorgeous, breathtaking!"
In 2010, we had our first rental guests. We consider ourselves fortunate to have wonderful guests who enjoy Windswept and Water Island as much as we do. We love to hear that we have helped them have a relaxing vacation and truly get away from it all. We get a lot of satisfaction from helping people create lasting memories and hope you are our next guest!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Coffee in the morning on the front patio while watching the sun come up over the tip of St. Thomas as the cruise ships enter St. Thomas Harbor. Dinner time drinks at the swim up bar as the sun sets in the west. Riding around the island in the golf cart and stopping for lunch at the beach. Saturday night dinner on Honeymoon Beach as the sun sets and the Monday night movies at the beach. Quiet evenings with the only sound being the waves crashing against the rocks below and the trade winds blowing.

My wife and I live in Falmouth, Maine. I am a retired Portland firefighter and my wife is a nurse. We love to travel, meet new people and see amazing places. We love living on the rugged coast of Maine most of the time. Our winters can be long and we always look forward to escaping to the warm tropics.

My family had a wonderful stay at this property. We were met at the dock by the property managers who helped us settle into our home away from home. The house itself is beautifully appointed -- even prettier than in the photos -- and we found every convenience there we could have asked for. The pool was a delight, and I can't even count the number of hours spent on Honeymoon Beach. We traveled to St. Thomas's and St. John's beaches, and always wanted to come back to Water Island's own Honeymoon Beach. Quiet, calm, and picturesque, this was by far the best beach in all that we saw. And Heidi's grill skills are really fantastic. The ferry to St. Thomas is a 5 minute trip by golf cart, and the grocery store is on the arrival dock. Tickles restaurant, also on the arrival dock, has a wonderful breakfast before you set off into St. Thomas. All in all, our vacation was comfortable, relaxing, and thoroughly enjoyable, in large part due to the property and its amenities. I whole-heartedly recommend this for a wonderful vacation home.

This place was the most well maintained, well equiped place i have been in the carribean. I can't say enough about the efforts put into making this place nicer than 5 star hotels!!! I will not think twice about where i am staying next year when i return to the island.

... To call this place a paradise retreat can not really justify the perfection of this vacation home. We enjoyed the beauty of the island from our first sighting & then we slipped comfortably into the home that welcomed us with every amenity! The house was welcoming and comfortable, the pool spectacular, the views breath-taking. We look forward to our next vacation in this home & on this delightful island!

We arrived on 03/12 and were surprised that every item was the best you can buy. The king size mattress is super comfy. The inground pool is is a maximum of 9ft. Shallow area for kids. Even had a Nikon binoculars for your use. Granite counter tops in kitchen. Remote control fans in both bedrooms. A quiet island but a short ferry ride to St.Thomas

Vacationed 7/3/2010 thru 7/10/2010 The owner was more than helpful in answering all questions. The listing was accurate and the photo's completlely reflected the appearance and amenities. Our trip was truly a visit to paradise... The property managers made our experience great from arrival through departure. A true pleasure meeting them and talking with them. We made several trips over to St. Thomas doing the tourist thing, Heidi's girll at honeymoon beach provided good food and beverages as did Joes beach bar. Victors reastaurant overlooking Crown Bay provided a good dinner of local cuisine and a great view. We would love to say that we couldn't reccommend this place, but that would be a lie. Very highly recommend this vacation spot and property

A perfect adventure getaway! Windswept is everything it promised! We had an amazing time on Water Island and the condo provided everything we could possibly need. The interior design – the kitchen, living area, and bedrooms are nicely done and the space of the condo was perfect for our group. The views, the pool, and the space are perfect! Everything was beautifully maintained and very clean. The location is perfect and is an easy golf cart ride or walk to the St. Thomas ferry and honeymoon beach! I would recommend Windswept to anyone and I hope to visit again some day soon!

I normally stay in full service hotels and this was the first time I stayed in a vacation rental. I was hesitant but Windswept turned out to be better than I imagined it could be. The condo is beautiful and VERY clean. The finishes are perfect and it is obvious that great attention to detail was paid to everything from the granite counters to the closet door pulls. Water Island is peaceful and relaxing but a quick and easy ferry ride to the action on St. Thomas. Honeymoon Beach on Water Island is fabulous - a quiet, secluded beach with white sand and calm, turquoise waters. The owners of Windswept are friendly and professional and went out of their way to accommodate us. They also have a wonderful property manager who lives on the island and was available 24 hours a day. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Windswept to anyone I know and am already planning my trip next year!

We recently spent a week at this lovely, thoughtfully and beautifully furnished vacation paradise. As soon as we got to the landing we were greeted by the warm and comforting trade winds. One view was St. Thomas, which in the evening sparkled with lights and cruise ships leaving port. The other view was of a peaceful, sleepy marina where we could watch the gorgeous sunset. The freshwater pool was warm and inviting; I loved swimming under the stars at night, and soaking up the sun in the day. The bedrooms each had beautiful views, luxuriously soft sheets and beds so comfortable getting up in the morning was difficult! Both bathrooms were lovely, with ocean-themed showers and decorations. All appliances, from the washer and dryer to the heavy-duty blender, were top-notch. The kitchen was so well-appointed that cooking was a pleasure! The living area had a nice TV (we didn't feel a need to watch), comfortable seating, and family board games to spend a quiet evening. The thoughtful extras such as beach chairs and pool noodles helped make our stay even more carefree. I highly recommend Windswept to anyone looking for a relaxing and extremely comfortable getaway. Thank you!!!
