San Antonio house description

Tri-Point Flat is located in the off-beat Tobin Hill Neighborhood. It's a small house, but wonderfully charming and comfortable. The layout is perfect for a maximum of 6 people. Please do not ask us about accommodating more than 6. The bedrooms are comfortable, but small. There is no room for air mattresses or extra beds. We're located just off North St Mary’s St and Hwy 281 near downtown San Antonio. Please note that this house is next to a freeway. Hwy 281 is primarily a commuter freeway, surfaced with sound absorbing coating and large truck traffic is prohibited. Traffic is light during the night and the house has been well insulated. It is the trade off for the excellent location and convenience to everything of interest in San Antonio. We are situated next to Trinity University, Brackenridge Park, San Antonio Zoo, The Witte Museum, San Antonio Museum of Art and the new Museum Reach extension of the Riverwalk. The freeway provides easy, direct access to all the major sites like Sea World, Fiesta Texas, and The Mission Trail. Owned and operated by Veriena Braune and local artist Brad Braune, this 1000 sq ft, 3 bedroom flat, decorated in contemporary style will immerse you in comfort and surround you with lovely works of art by Brad Braune as well as pieces from his private collection. Wake up to the church bells of the Catholic Church on the corner, work out at Tri-Point Fitness Center across St Mary’s, walk to the many local restaurants nearby, drive or bike the short distance to the Riverwalk extension at the old Pearl Brewery where you can board a boat and cruise to downtown for sight seeing and shopping. Then back to relax before your night on the town. If you are on a business trip, you are only 5 minutes from the airport, or 3 minutes to downtown by taxi.

Cozy, clean & comfortable accommodations. What a surprise to find such quality bed & bath linens, comfortable beds, very well stocked kitchen, bath & laundry facilities. Verienna was so helpful with complete & accurate directions & Brad was waiting with his Mom's delicious homemade banana bread, fresh organic eggs from his chickens plus some purchased items. So unexpected! We felt like we were staying in the home of friends or family. The weather wasn't that great but we did enjoy the patio area in the backyard. Traffic sounds were really not noticeable. Was a good location close to the golf courses we planned to play. Generous cancellation policy too!

Tripoint Flat has everything you could want in a vacation rental home. It's beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, and well situated just minutes from the River Walk, Fort Sam Houston, and the Zoo. There are some great little restaurants down the street, and for the exercise enthusiast, a YMCA right around the corner. There is a rental bike station around the corner too! And you can't beat Veriena's delicious pumpkin bread and the assortment of fresh fruit waiting for you when you walk in the door. We highly recommend Tripoint Flat and will return whenever we're in the area.

Manager response: Theresa, Thank you so much for the generous review. My mom and I are glad the house worked well for you while you were in SA. Too bad the weather wasn't a little more cooperative during your stay. We hope you'll stay with us again next time you're in SA. Brad

I cannot begin to express my deep gratitude and appreciation for the kindness of Vierena and the assistance of Brad in making my stay so utterly memorable. The flat is so well laid out, well furnish, insanely clean and full of creature comforts. I am usually a bit finicky about my bed, but the master one was excellent. The deck with the surrounding garden was exquisite and my nightly forays into the spa were the height of relaxation. Brad not only made me feel welcomed but he was always johnny-on-the-spot with restaurant recommendations, grocery store locations, bakeries and directions (and maps) to each. I appreciated the security alarm on the house and I didn't realize that the tasteful bouquet of flowers on the table were real only after some of the petals began to fall off. On top of all of that, "mom" made me a loaf of delicious pumpkin bread! I cannot thanks both of them enough for making my stay inviting and comfortable.

We stayed in the Tripoint flat because of the close proximity to Trinity University. Our stay way wonderful! All the personal touches like having fresh eggs, homemade pumpkin bread and cream for the coffee made it so welcoming. After the long drive from New Mexico we felt very comfortalbe in the flat. All the art work is such a treat as were the gardens. We wish we had discovered this sooner than graduation weekend because we definitely would have stayed here on other occasions. For anyone who is visiting the Trinity campus this is a great place to stay. Just park your car and walk 1 block to the campus.

We were in San Antonio for a conference and had the chance to stay at Tri-Point Flat. The location was perfect -- out of the crowds of downtown, but close enough to get there in 5 minutes. The house was immaculate and well-maintained. The back patio lush with hibiscus and martins and fruit trees bearing fruit. One night I couldn't sleep, and I was so relieved that I was not stuck in a hotel room with nowhere to go. My roommate was sound asleep in her bed, undisturbed, and I was in the living area watching television. The owner, Brad, was right there when we called him about the bill (no state for our organization), and he fixed it immediately. Nearby -- a 10 minute walk -- was a delicious barbeque restaurant, as well as La Fonda, one of the oldest Mexican restaurants frequented by the locals. I love the River Walk, but I will always choose to stay here.

My husband, 11 year old son and I enjoyed Brad's gracious hospitality for a long weekend. The house is charming and very welcoming. We were all enchanted by the garden off the deck, that included banana and citrus trees. We also enjoyed the hot tub, outside shower, and melodious awakening to each day. The home baked pumpkin bread, fresh eggs and fruit were a welcome surprise after our long drive. Brad's art work decorating the house was delightful. Tri Point was conveniently located to the San Antonio area we wanted to explore. We had been to San Antonio before. This was the first time we rented a house, but certainly won't be the last. In fact, our son is already talking about "coming back to the same house!" Wonderful wonderful! Thank you Brad and Veriena!

I often travel for work. So when my parents decided to visit over the holidays, the last thing I wanted to do was stay in hotels as we toured Texas. What a treat it was to stay at this property! There were many innovative uses of materials and wonderful art to enjoy. I spend a lot of free time working on DIY projects around my house and was truly inspired by the creative ideas in this house. I loved the backyard and the outdoor shower. This small house does not feel small in the way that it is furnished. Very comfortable. Thank you for leaving the box set of Planet Earth - it was just what we needed after a long drive! We also thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin bread! We felt so much at home that we were looking for ways to stay longer!!

This property was great. We had 4 women on a little vacation and we truly felt spoiled. The host was a very nice man who believes in making sure you are comfortable. He brought us homemade pumpkin bread one morning and another day he brought brownies. He had fresh fruit and fresh eggs for us when we arrived. We had to call him several times with questions about how to get places and referrals for restaurants and he was so kind and patient. We will stay here again if we ever go back to San Antonio. Lovely house!

              Year Purchased: 2006

About: owners: Veriena Braune and Brad Braune The owners and operators of TriPoint Flat are a Mother/Son team. Brad Braune is a well known San Antonio contemporary western artist. His work hangs in many private and corporate collections, not only in the SA area, but across Texas and the US. For some years he has taught a weekly class at The Coppini Academy, a local art school and also teaches at the Southwest School of Art. Veriena Braune is a retired educator who lives in Granbury, Texas and operates Bed & Breakfast facilities with her daughters, Kathy Braune and Cindy Bell.

              Why San Antonio:
Thirty years ago Brad purchased an abandoned church and remodeled it into his present art studio. Three years ago, he and Veriena were able to purchase the small house next door that had served as the parsonage for the former church, but had set vacant for some years. Realizing the location was a perfect place for people to come to enjoy San Antonio, they set about to repair and restore the house – and miraculously this has been accomplished.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
This house is not only relaxing and comfortable, but is an incredible experience of original art work. Brad has hung many of his own pieces, as well as work from his private collection by other artists. The location is great – on a short boulevard where North St. Marys and Hwy 281 come together a few blocks south of Trinity University. St Marys has several restaurants, art galleries, clubs and coffee shops. Follow St Marys under Hwy 281 and you are at Breckenridge Park, Zoo and The Sunken Gardens, Witte Museum and other exciting places on Broadway. Follow 281 toward downtown just a few blocks and you are at the newly opened riverwalk extension at the old Pearl Brewery area and The San Antonio Museum of Art. There, you can not only board a riverboat for a trip downtown, but also browse the Museum and some great restaurants and shops.
