Relax and recharge at our unique historical leisure property on the shores of Lake Michigan. Come stay on our sixth generation farm and experience a vacation you will never forget. Exceptional hospitality and multiple on site leisure activities await you. Just 15 miles north of Sheboygan and one mile north of the world famous Whistling Straits golf course. Wake up to amazing sunrises, walk on the lakeshore, sit by the bonfire under the stars, hike on our wooded trails, play a leisurely round of golf on our 9 hole on site golf course - carts included. Our peaceful setting is sure to have something for everyone. Kids' sandbox and play structure in the large backyard, golf on site and nearby, fishing and kayaking nearby, cross country ski trails on site, and access to snowmobile trails. Turkeys and geese to hunt seasonally. Seasonal fresh produce from our apple orchards and gardens for sale.
Many other leisure activities nearby and many wonderful restaurants within minutes. Large recreation area in the basement with recliners, game table, stereo system, satellite TV, bar, refrigerator, and futon for extra sleeping space. Come and stay in our cottage any time of year, there is always plenty to do at the Lake Orchard Farm Retreat!

My family has stayed twice during this past year. Home Sweet Home! Clean, quiet and plenty of room to spread out our family. We had a mini family reunion in the Fall and were back in the Spring. We all set our alarm clocks so we could be up to watch the beautiful sunrise over Lake Michigan. In the Fall we were able to golf right in the back yard! The apples were there for the picking and were wonderful. Our walks along the lake will never be forgotten. Nate and Mary are there to make your stay as comfortable as they can. It really has a beautiful clean kitchen and plenty of bathrooms, plus a full size laundry room. The large front lawn was a great place to gather in lawn chairs and just enjoy the view. We will be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

I have nothing but good things to say about the property. It was clean and had all the amenities that we needed. The photos were accurate describing the home. There was a happy, welcoming presense felt thoughtout our stay. Our grandchildren were with us and they especially loved the Rec Room downstairs. There was ample room for everyone and the place was very comfortable. The owners were more than helpful and provided us with anything that we needed to make our stay more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

My family and I stayed at the cottage over the summer and it was a magical experience. The cottage was spotless, very roomy, and comfortable. The hospitality was top notch. The location with a stunning view of Lake Michigan cannot be beat. And the stars you can see on a clear night - millions! This is the perfect place to escape it all and enjoy some quality down time. Close enough to many distractions but far enough away to avoid them as needed. I highly recommend it!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

About the owner: Nate and Mary Calkins (and 3 year old Marcus) love living in the country on our sixth generation farm. Guests here are treated like family and we look forward to having you stay with us! Mary grew up on this farm and Mary and Nate recently moved back to the area and renovated existing structures into a Bed & Breakfast and a cottage. We wanted to share this amazing view and property with others! You will LOVE our peaceful little piece of heaven.
