Wow, where do we start... VRBO asks for listing within 15 minutes. Within 30 minutes are wonderful Historical sites from the 18th and 19th centuries, Antique shops, a YMCA and of course that Maine Shopping Adventure, Reny's. Acadia National Park is but 2 hours away, Katahdin is only 3 hours away. Best of all, of course, is Damariscotta Lake waiting for you with swimming boating and fishing along with sightings of Eagles, Osprey, Loons ducks and geese.
About the owner: We are the 3rd and 4th generations to live on, and love 'the lake' as it is known to us. We are Mark and Sheryl Daiute and Family. Mark's grandfather Louis Howland and great Uncle, Dudley Howland, first camped and fished here as young men in 1903. In 1916 they bought adjoining lots on the lake and together they built a cottage straddling their common boundary line. That cottage still stands and is owned by Mark's cousins.
Beginning in the late 1960's Mark's Uncle Ralph, along with his parents built and rented 'Wildwood Cottages' on this lot. Into the very early 90's there were a total of 6 cottages. During the early 90's all the cottages were removed except ours, 'old Number 6' leaving the spacious lot we enjoy today. The land along with Old Number 6 was handed to the next generation with the passing of Mark's mom in 1995.
In addition to being active parents Mark and Sheryl enjoy living history. Sheryl has been a very active leader in the local Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop and Mark is an avid outdoorsman. By profession Mark is a Land surveyor. In addition to being a paralegal specializing in real estate, Sheryl is a Title 1 Reading Teacher at the local school. Together they are anticipating the arrival of their first grandchild!
Why the Owner Chose Nobleboro: Enjoy our open lot on Damariscotta lake where you can barbeque for the family while they fish and swim
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: If you can tear yourselves away from the lake there is much to see and do in the surrounding area. Use our camp as your base to explore the Pemaquid Region, beautiful Acadia National Park and the historic Kennebec Valley Region
