Villa Terra Nova is a two bedroom, two bath private home perched on a hillside on Water Island, just off St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This villa has one of the most spectacular views on Water Island. The wraparound deck provides dramatic, breezy viewing experiences from three different sides of the villa. You truly feel 'on top of the world' here. Privacy is maximized on the one-acre private residential lot. Owners have made constant updates to keep the villa tasetfully decorated and functional. The Villa is tastefully decorated inside, but you will probably spend most of your time outdoors on the wraparound deck with fabulous views. The elevation (180 feet) means that you will get constant soothing trade winds. You will feel 'on top of the world.' This villa is a truly unique getaway. The home and grounds are yours alone during your stay; you do not share any parts of the property or any amenities with other vacationers.
Water Island is situated in world famous St. Thomas harbor: close enough to St. Thomas so that you can enjoy all of its amenities, but when you are on Water Island you are in a quiet, secluded retreat. You are furnished with your own golf cart (the preferred Water Island mode of travel!) to get around on the island during your stay.
Water Island is developed only with private residences set on large private lots with gorgeous views. The island can be reached by ferry from St. Thomas (a convenient public ferry makes frequent runs from the St. Thomas waterfront each day). Water Island has several beautiful beaches and many scenic walks. Guided bicycle tours are available.
Quaint Water Island experiences include Saturday night dining under the stars with Heidi, Water Island's very own award-winning gourmet chef, and Monday night outdoor movies shown under the stars. Drive in and watch from your golf cart as you are served popcorn and other yummies by the wandering servers.

Had a wonerful time at Villa Terra Nova. The Villa has a view that can't be beat, lovely decor and grounds. Photos were accurate and the property was clean and very well maintained with a great property manager. I have no negatives other than we are not there right now! Having two golf carts is a plus! Thanks for sharing this great property!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Great view, wonderful verandah. Close to the beach. Fully equipped, more than advertised. Just show up with a swim suit and casual attire and you are all set. Very friendly people on the island. Can't go wrong!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

Our stay at this house was perfect. We really loved having the golf cart to get around. It was easy to explore the whole little island and easy to get to the water taxi for further explorations of St. Thomas and St. John. The house was perfect. It is nicely appointed and had everything we wanted. The balcony with the hammock will draw you in and you will feel no need to move. Even so, I encourage you to also enjoy the beaches and everything that this charming getaway has to offer. My husband and I spent a week here in November for a much needed week of relaxation with out the kids. We quickly got into a routine of sleeping in, breakfast on the patio (with the spectacular view) and then laying around the beach. We had plans to go over to St Thomas for some "fanxy" dinners but instead just opted to cook in the villa. Honeymoon beach is exactly what we had expected, just a few locals and some silly cruise passangers for a few hours each day ( they actually were very entertaining). We did the movie on the beach etc. By the end of the week we knew everyone, and spend more than a few hours hanging out a the "bar" at the end of the beach. This is truly a special place. The villa owners were very easy to work with and were very prompt when the wi-fi didn't work ( had to skype the kids!). We completely relaxed and re-connected. Already have recommended the island and the villa to our friends.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

My wife and I had a wonderful time. The view from the porch is breathtaking. Water Island and Villa Terra Nova are perfect if you like to kick back and relax. We enjoyed wandering around in the golf cart, meeting the locals, and hanging out at Honeymoon beach. The house has everything you'll need. I enjoy cooking on vacation and between the food selections at the grocery on St. Thomas and the well equipped kitchen, we ate well. Not to mention the great prices on rum! I definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves to relax away from it all in the USVI.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

There's nothing missing at Villa Terra Nova: great location, superb views, clean & well maintained. Even though 2 golf carts are provided, you're within walking distance to most of the island's points of interest (and any walk on Water Island is a delight). The covered porch is a perfect spot! The views are fantastic. You can watch the cruise ships entering & leaving the main harbor at Charlotte Amalie. The position of the porch is just right for a splash of sunshine in the morning, followed by increasing shade as the day gets warmer. The entire cottage is well positioned to catch the delightful ocean breezes. A well provisioned kitchen, comfy beds, and all the modern electronics for evening entertainment finishes the list of everthing you need for a perfect vacation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

While on a sailing sabbatical in 1997, Bill and Steph explored the Carribean. The USVI seemed an ideal location for a retirement home because of its variety of amenities, affiliation with the United States, and is spectacular beauty.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Golf cart rides are a big part of the fun! It's the best way to explore Water Island. Walks on Water Island can become quite strenuous. The cart is an extremely valuable amenity for comfort, convenience, exploration, and transporting groceries and guests.
The back deck has one of the most panoramic views on Water Island, and has as much square footage as the inside of the house. The house sits on almost an acre - it's quiet and has a very private feel.
