Kyrenia apartment description
A new 3 bedroom apartment, one of just 36 and only 300 metres from oceans edge in prestigious Lapta Pines Development, just 8 miles from the 16th century Harbour known as Kyrenia. Some say the meds best kept secret.,the jewel of the med.
Flanked by the dramatic Besparmak mountain range, views of mainland Turkey and the dramatic local coastline and nestled in olive and lemon groves.
It is close to shops, hotels and many oceanside restaurants and cafe's. also within close proximity are old Turkish villages, old Lapta and Alsanjack.[eye openers to say the least.] get a haircut for 15ytl [about £6.00] Various walks in most directions.
Natural unspoiled beaches just mins away,[horsehoe] but for those who would go up market there are 'Camelot' or 'Escape' and Sun-Set beaches have all water and beach facilities available. also a couple of water parks, closeby
Lapta in particular has many bars and restaurants that sit right on the waters edge. Come visit you will never be disappointed
Northern Cyprus - the jewel of the Med: Lefkosa [Nicosia] dating back to the 7th century, visit Ledra Palace, or take a stroll through the streets where you will be thrilled to find old farmers markets with amazing produce, particularly interesting is the Buyuk Han [the great inn] built in 1572 by the Otterman governor Muzaffer Pasha traders and merchants would stay the night, drink wine and make merriment. Just around the corner is the mansion of dervish pasha built in the 19th century and bears the characteristics of the Turkish architecture of this period. Other places of interest in this city are the Venetian Column, Gamblers Inn and the Kyrenia gate.just recently in the centre they have just opened up the border crossing from north to south ,its a walkway which allows you to spend the day on the Greek side.its good to observe the cultural differences between the two zones, there is a noticeable difference also between the two cuisines...make sure you don't miss the very old central market [Turk side] its an eye opener
Kyrenia, a 14th Century uncomercialised harbour: Dating back to Roman times, was eventually taken over by the Ottermans in 1571 without them firing a single shot. But enough of all the Nostalia, the horseshoe shaped harbour which is filled with old and antique Turkish fishing boats is truly a delight .the low romantic lighting needs to be appreciated at dusk or night, it boasts scores of restaurants, bars cafe's most with outside waterfront dinning but go to the back streets and fined some real jewels. A deal cheaper and perhaps more interesting. Its really very safe in spite of the narrow darkly lit cobbled streets. be prepaid for the wailing of the Imrans from the several mosques which are located in the area calling the believers to prayer Also in the harbour is Kyrenia Castle built by the Byzantines in the 7th century to protect the city from Arab raiders. it has apparently remained intact for centuries but has also been enlarged & better fortified over the last few hundred years.. there are a couple of authentic turkish bars too.
Beaches and relaxiation: Well, there is an area east of Kyrenia known as the Karpaz. Literally mile after mile of golden beaches, turtle breeding grounds actually. wild donkeys ,also. Sea is sparkling aquamarine, and there are some incredibly basic hotels literally on the beach 'the oasis' for one that will cost about £15 per room per night. The owner cooks out on the patio under the stars, a real experience. Nearer the apartment area are some glorious beaches. Camelot, Escape the Sun Set beach club etc. Everything will be available at really affordable prices when it comes to wining and dining northern Cyprus is unsurpassed .how about 3 course including wine for about for under £20 per head [exchange rate permitting] there is a famous meze restaurant (cenap)which will serve you a 24 course meal for about £12 per head. Strong brandy sour cocktails will run you back about £3. North Cyprus is a really good deal ,it is NON EURO and less expensive than anywhere I have been recently, please come visit you wont be disappointed.

Perfect for us!...
We spent a week here in the height of Summer for a friends wedding.. It provided everything we needed in a holiday, good living and sleeping accommodation, good leisure facilities, good location for local amenities.

A great safe place for children
A great safe place for children
We had a very pleasant stay in this lovely apartment, which had all we needed. There's a fabulous pool a few strides away. It's very quiet - we were there at the height of the season & the pool was never over populated! It's a short walk to the nearest supermarket, and I would say a car is a must. The only downside ( tho not for us with one child) is that the hanging space is limited - there is no wardrobe in the twin room, so bear that in mind when packing! A great place to stay, in a great area. The owner was very helpful at all times, and I would recommend this apartment to young families and older people alike,

Owner response: thanks very much for the review and i am very happy that you enjoyed yourself .. [cant do much about the hanging space in the 3rd bedroom] , its the architect that needs a tap on the wrist ... lol . james
Nice location, well equiped, fantastic pool.
Nice location, well equiped, fantastic pool.
When we arrived at Larnaca it was late and dark. We prebooked a hire a car through Arizona rent a car, they organised a driver to pick us up and drop us back to the airport at a small cost of £45 each way. (we have used them before). Our driver was waiting for us at the arrivals with our name on a board. He put our stuff in the car, then we set off to North Cyrus to find A1 Lapta Pines. The driver took us through the boarder with no hassel. Once through the border he took us to a super market that was open late so we can get a few supplies. He then stopped and bought us some drinks at his expense. He knew where Lapta was but he didn't know Lapta Pines, but that didn't matter because James the owner gave me the exact details we needed to find it with great ease. When we arrived everything was as promised. A great clean and well equiped apartment. We have only 2 negatives about the apartment and that is 1. The beds are not as soft and comfy as ours at home in the UK, but we did get some good needed sleep after our fun filled days. 2. There were some ants that attacked some of our food that we had left out overnight, so, you must always keep your food wraped or in the fridge. The apartment is in a fantastic location, there are lots of fine places to eat and drink. A hire car is a must to enable you to travel and see the wonderful sights North Cyprus has to offer. The pool at the apartment is great and well looked after, we used it every morning and evening before we went out. The air-con was a god send. We had a fantastic time in Cyprus at a pleasant stay in Lapta Pines with no problems. We will definately stay here again when we return to Cyprus next year. Ther is so much to see in Cyprus, if you use this apartment as a base you will have no regrets. Steve and Tammy

We visited for a week in August 2011 and found the apartments well- equipped, bright, spacious and airy, with two shaded terrace/patios (one quite large for family eating/sun loungers) and a private walled garden. Air con in every bedroom and the main living room was a bonus and any small problems dealt with quickly and efficiently by local manager. The pool is big enough, clean and, on every occasion we used it (at least once each day), we had it to ourselves. Views are good and, although you will need a car, there are enough facilities, restaurants and a small beach within walking distance. Larger, sandy beaches are within a reasonable drive. Prices are very reasonable, we budgeted for 100 Turkish Lira for meals for three each day and at that budget you’ll have plenty, including drinks. Fill up on the delicious Meze’s! You’ll be spoilt for choice for restaurants on the main road, several within a few minutes walk. All local people were very helpful and keen to offer suggestions/directions, and almost all spoke good English, no problems with being understood at all. Petrol is relatively cheap and a car with Air Con can be hired from Arizona at £19 per day peak season. Recommended for a quieter family holiday, peaceful but with everything you need close at hand. Tony Monahan and family.

Schitterend appartement in Lapta
Schitterend appartement in Lapta
