Newer, two-bedroom (one queen upstairs, one queen downstairs) cabin located on a seasonal side channel of the Methow River in the Lost River area, seven miles northwest of Mazama. The main channel of the Methow River is a very short walk from the deck of the cabin. Whether you plan to cross-country ski, snow shoe, snowmobile, hike or just relax the River House offers all this and more. The River House has breathtaking views of Last Chance Point and Driveway Butte. The cabin has a gas fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchen. There is also a small sleeper sofa in living room. The cabin has a picnic table, park bench, and gas barbecue, all in a nicely treed setting. Other amenties provided: Direct TV service, VCR/CD/DVD/Washer/dryer and board games. The cabin does has a telephone, but no long distance service (please bring a calling card).

My husband and I spent the weekend here and loved it, almost as much as our dog did. The cabin had everything we needed and was comfortable to come home to after a day of playing in the snow. Will definitely be back.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed a week over Thanksgiving through snow and below zero temperatures. The cabin stayed warm and cozy. It has a beautifully finished interior with 2 decks to enjoy the views. The pictures don't do it justice. It is well furnished with a completely stocked kitchen. We skied, snowshoed or hiked a different place every day, all within a 45 minute drive. I highly recommend the River House to anyone looking to get away, winter or summer. We will be back some day!
