  • Great apartment in the Barri Gotic!

"Our family of 2 "mature" parents and 2 20-something children found this apartment so comfortable and convenient for our visit to Barcelona! From the outset, Elizabeth answered my many emails promptly and thoroughly. I was traveling alone to meet my family and the taxi driver let me off a block away. However, Inez was waiting outside the apartment building--it was helpful to have checked the address on Google Earth; that made it a lot easier to find. She was also a good sport, helping me carry a rather large suitcase up the 3 flights of stairs! Inez provided all the needed info about the apartment and places to get coffee in the morning and groceries. The apartment itself was clean and spacious and very comfortable--the hammock was a popular spot! We also used the 2 balconies facing the plaza; in the late afternoons, people gathered there for the 2 restaurants downstairs and a musician was playing a very nice guitar. The washing machine was quite handy since my husband and sons had walked the first part of the Camino de Santiago. While there isn't a dryer, it was easy to hang out clothes on the balcony while we were off sightseeing. We used the kitchen in the morning to make tea and bought a few groceries for snacks in the afternoon. There were plenty of restaurants in the area--we ate at a Japanese place right around the corner, Matsuri (sp?) and lots of little places in between the apartment and the Plaza Jaume. We walked to everything--the beach, museums, the Born area, etc. and only used a taxi to get to Familia Sagrada because it was raining. Our sons even caught the train back to the airport from the Plaza Catalunya. Of note, the hallway is a little intimidating--very old and dark, especially at night. After our first night out, it was pretty scary climbing up the stairs in the dark. We discovered the hall light just inside the outer door the next morning. If we are ever lucky enough to get back to Barcelona, I wouldn't hesitate to arrange for this apartment again!"

  • This terrific apartment in a fantastic location - so comfortable, so relaxing, and so clean!

"Oh my! We have just spent several wonderful days visiting Spain, using this beautiful little apartment as our "home base". It is perfectly suited to our needs. Easy access to the metro? - a station is located less than five minutes from the apartment. Easy access to the bus line? - a bus stop is right outside the front door. Easy access to the center of Madrid? - just a few short minutes away! Staying in contact with family and friends back home? - the "wifi" connection is fast and reliable. This apartment was immaculate - so very clean and fresh - all the comforts of home. The garden is impeccable (Have an afternoon swim in the private pool if you like!). The apartment is situated across the street from a beautiful park, adding to the high quality of the neighborhood. Within walking distance In every direction are wonderful restaurants to enjoy and shops to browse. We have made plans to re-visit Spain later this year, and we will soon make arrangements with the owner (a most helpful man indeed!) to stay again in this wonderful place. Simply said: This apartment is a treasure!"
