  • Excellent!

"The two of us rented this condo for four weeks, and loved every minute. We say "ditto" to all the previous good reviews of the condo and the décor. Also, the two level underground parking garage was great. Elevator service was speedy. The condo was very roomy, and two full baths in a one bedroom condo is amazing. Amenities provided by the owner were plentiful. We loved the patio and pool deck for catching some sun -- even tho it was winter, the sun hits the patio in the afternoon, and warms it up nicely. Great view of the sunsets. The entire complex is well maintained, and the condo is nearly soundproof with windows and doors closed -- except for the jets from Tyndall Air Force base, but we loved watching those too. The owner was very prompt in returning our damage deposit. The only semi-bad thing we can say about this condo is that the internet service was pretty slow, and we could only connect one device to the secure network. Mexico Beach is a pretty quiet small town (at least in winter). You do need a car to get to shopping and a lot of restaurants. The closest restaurants are pretty good tho. Many of the closest restaurants do close over the winter, but we highly recommend Sharon's Café and Paul Gant's BarBQ truck (north side of Port St Joe), Killer Seafood was good and we only got to try Toucan's once, the oysters were good, but not as good as at Indian Pass Raw Bar. Leon's Donuts, just over the bridge from Tyndall, were excellent."

  • Lovely house close to the beach

"My husband and I and three other couples just spent ten days at Beach Paradise. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished and very comfortable. The deck was wonderful and had lots of seating. Everything was supplied down to the toilet paper. The owner/managers were great to work with, and we would definately recommend this property."

  • Comfortable and Quiet

"The BEST equipped rental I've ever stayed in. Patio is much larger than photo shows. Take the Sunset Cruise out of St. Joe Marina! my poem: Two old friends came to your shore. The beach is right by the Wrights' door. We had lots of fun, soaked up the sun, and will be back next year for encore!"

  • Spring Break Fishing and Relaxing

"This was our first time spending spring break in mexico beach. I had planned this to spend a week hanging out and fishing all week with my 2 college age boys. Me and my wife have stayed in several cottages in the PCB area and this one is by far the cleanest, best equipped and felt most like staying at a friend or family members house. Tami was really Awesome to work with and Dewanna went out of her way to help us out. Everything was updated and fresh and very well stocked. Even though we didn't catch the big one we were hoping for, we will definitely be back to try again. Use of the kayak and the pier being so close were also a big plus. I am already making plans to come back with my wife so we can check out the area alot more."

Mexico Beach Travel Tips

Mexico Beach is a small coastal community located 20 miles east of Panama City Beach along the Florida Panhandle on the "Forgotten Coast." It's a serene destination on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and offers the small-town atmosphere you're looking for in a relaxing tropical getaway. Mexico Beach is considered a "secret" vacation spot among families and some have been coming here for generations.

Nature's beauty is preserved and the beaches are full of life in Mexico Beach. Visitors can head out for some shopping or dining and hike through parks and conservancies during their stay. If you want to see the dolphins play at sunset, Mexico Beach is the place to do it. The most favorite pasttime among visitors and locals is swimming in the clear waters.

Mexico Beach Attractions

Beaches: Some of the best beaches in the country are found in Mexico Beach. The sand is made up of nearly 12 different materials and contains quartz crystals. There are no rivers that flow through Mexico Beach so the sand is pure and white, and since it's reflective it doesn't get hot during the summer. Visitors to Mexico Beach get to enjoy 5 miles of the coastline with plenty of public beach access. If you're lucky, you may even get to see a sea turtle. Five endangered species venture onto the shore in Mexico Beach to create nests for their eggs.

Diving: There's easy access to several dive sites off of the coast of Mexico Beach that are perfect for scuba diving, snorkeling and spearfishing. Visitors will enjoy the beauty of the natural and artificial reefs as well as the shipwreck sites. The Empire Mica is a wreck site that will give divers a world-class experience in 105 feet of water. There's also the lumber ship Vamar, which lies 27 feet below the surface near the Bell Shoal area. It's accessible by scuba divers and snorkelers, and is even visible from the surface.

Things to Do in Mexico Beach

Dining: You'll find everything you could want to eat in Mexico Beach. From mom-and-pop eateries to restaurants featuring live entertainment, everyone in the family will find a new favorite food. You can grab fresh seafood from the Fish House Restaurant, Gourmet by the Bay, Killer Seafood or Regan's Pub and Oyster Bar. Or you can choose to relax at Caribbean Coffee, Graba Java Internet Cafe or Sharon's Cafe.

Shopping: If you're looking for a place to shop 'til you drop, head to stores along Highway 98. There's a wide variety of offerings such as gifts and souvenirs as well as other little stores tucked away in motels and restaurants. You can find gifts at Beachwalk Beachwear and Giftware, Frost Pottery Garden and Gift and The Grove.

Fishing: There are more than 125 artificial reefs in the Gulf of Mexico, which make for one amazing fishing trip. Whether you want to hit the water along the coast or head out for some deep sea fishing, you're guaranteed to have a good time in Mexico Beach. There are three bays for launching and many of the charter boats in this coastal town offer inshore or offshore trips that include your gear and license. Some of the species found at Mexico Beach include king and Spanish mackerel, grouper, red and black snapper, mahi mahi, pompani, speckled trout and redfish.
