"This is our second time staying at Bob's condo at the Wavecrest resort. The first time for one week and recently for a one-month stay. The condo was very clean with a nicely updated kitchen. There are beautiful ocean views from inside the condo and on the patio looking over to the island of Maui. We could see whales from the patio.
Other reviews have mentioned the roosters crowing in the morning. We closed the bedroom window at night and I used earplugs and got a good nights sleep.
There is no air-conditioning in the unit, but the ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room kept us cool.
The oceanfront pool and cabana are very nice features of the property. It is a small resort, and it is easy to meet people.
The beach out front is not a good swimming beach as it is an ancient fish pond with a muddy bottom. There are beaches 3 miles and 7 miles from the condo for swimming and snorkeling (and also on the West End).
The Wavecrest resort is 13 miles east of the town of Kaunakakai. We made most of our meals at the condo (often using the barbecues by the pool) and saved our dining out for when we were exploring the island and in town for the Saturday market. There is also a small grocery store and good walk-up diner/window for take-out food 3 miles from the condo. We enjoyed the ukulele jam sessions on Tuesdays at the coffee store and Fridays at Hotel Molokai.
Molokai is NOT the island for you if you want lots of nightlife, fancy restaurants and high-end shopping malls. We like Molokai because of the uncrowded, laid-back lifestyle-no chain stores, no traffic jams, no reason to rush around from one tourist activity to another! We enjoyed exploring the Island-the West End beaches, the Kalaupapa lookout and Sugar Mill Museum, the beautiful Halawa Valley on the East End, hiking, etc. And plenty of time for swimming in the pool, relaxing in the sun and reading.
The booking process was easy with Bob, and he called to make sure everything was fine after we arrived. We hope to stay here again when we return to Molokai.
Mahalo Bob for Molokai Magic!"

"Condo offers lovely ocean views from relaxing lanai, a new kitchen, and comfortable living space. Resort has warm swimming pool and a cabana with barbecues, library, and ukulele events. Nearby activities include snorkeling and hiking. We had a wonderful time."

"We had a wonderful stay at Wavecrest. The owner, John, called to make sure we were set prior to arrival and checked in after arrival to make sure we had everything we needed. Though I am not sure what that might have been as the condo was very well appointed with everything one might need:including a kitchen with every imaginable utensils, reading material, several pairs of binoculars for whale watching from the lanai/balcony overlooking the ocean about 100ft away, with views of Maui and Lanai, and the the humpback whales playing! The furnishings were clean and comfortable. The surrounding grounds offered a nice pool, with a barbaque area, a smal beach OK for fishing. Beautiful serene location to relax, close enough to Kauanakakai for shopping at the farmers market on Saturday a.m.and supplies and Halawa valley for beautiful scenery and waterfalls as well as cultural tours, and great snorkeling beaches nearby (driving distance). Also and easy drive for a hike or mule ride into the Kalaupapa peninsula for beautiful scenery and a lesson in history of the leper colony. We intend to return for another relaxing vacation!"
