Stunning location and property. Quiet and idyllic surroundings. Fully functional, clean, cosy and charming cottage. Lovely owners, good property Manager. We wanted for nothing and enjoyed everything.
The picturesque market towns of Dolgellau and Machynlleth, along with the bustling harbour town of Barmouth and the charming seaside village of Aberdyfi, offer plenty of civilisation - if any is needed! All have cafes, music, seafood restaurants, galleries and antiques.
There are many fantastic walks within a few miles of Coed Stable. The Torrent Walk is a short distance away running through a beautiful wooded gorge with stunning waterfalls along the spectacular fall of the Clywedog River. The Cregennan Lakes in the foothills of Cadair Idris have views of the sea and Barmouth, alternatively a lovely circular walk round the Gwernan Lake with a bar snack or a drink at the charming Gwernen Hotel on the route. while the famous Precipice and New Precipice Walks are both cliff-top walks with unrivaled views of Cadair Idris and the Mawddach Estuary. For a beautifully scenic and less arduous walk or cycle ride try the Mawddach Trail, a former railway line that runs all the way from Dolgellau to Barmouth along the stunning Mawddach Estuary. Don't feel like cooking? - treat yourselves to a gourmet meal at the Mawddach Restaurant (advance booking recommended) or if you want to leave the car, the recently renovated Cross Foxes pub is less than a mile away. Dolgellau has it's own good restaurants, try Dylanwad da which is featured in the good food guide or the very friendly and cosy Y Meirionnydd which serves some wonderful local foods (booking recommended). The largest mountain bike centre in the UK, Coed y Brenin Forest Park is only 7 miles away, Snowdon is only 75 minutes drive and the long sandy beach of Fairbourne and wild swimming at the Blue lagoon a 20 minute journey by car.
