Traditional 4 Bedroom Detached Villa with Private Pool and Beautiful Sea Views

A beautiful traditional villa located in a quiet cul-de-sac within walking distance to Centeanes beach and Carvoeiro centre. Casa Alto Mar has a fantastic sea view from the south-facing spacious terrace which overlooks the private pool and garden, it has a table and chairs for 8 people and together with the purpose built BBQ it provides the perfect setting for outside dining, there is an outdoor drinks fridge so you don't even have to leave the terrace for that refreshing glass of wine!! There is a lockable gate between the house and the pool so you can relax with children. Pool Heating is available at an extra cost (£25 per night)

The first floor consists of a fully equipped modern kitchen and a lounge/diner which comprises of a wood burning stove (for winter lets), table and chairs, 2 comfortable sofa’s, TV (with English channels), DVD player and a great selection of books, a selection of board game and free wireless internet access. There is one Double Bedroom and two Twin Bedrooms on the 1st floor, along with two good sized bathrooms, the 2nd Double Bedroom is en-suite and is located on the ground floor, there are tea/coffee making facilities in this room.

Alto Mar has secure off-street parking and is in easy driving distance to local supermarkets and a number of beautiful beaches and golf courses around the area.

Winter Lets: Long term winter lets are available and prices are negotiable dependant on length of stay. Please contact the owner for more information. There is a wood burning stove which makes it very cosy in the cooler months. The terrace is south facing and sheltered and there is plenty of room for a couple of sun loungers so you can make the most of the sunshine all day.

Alto Mar is a spacious, clean and well equipped Villa. Lovely pool. Check-in great. Mike contacted us before we left the Uk and was there to greet us on arrival. Can’t recommend Alto Mar enough. We were a family of 7 - all mixed ages and found the Spa, the beach and Cavielero all within a walking distance. We have had one of the best holidays.

Great place to stay!

You can’t beat the location. Central place in Algarve enabling you to visit easily East or West. 5 min walk to the beach and 15 min walk to Carvoeiro. We really enjoyed the exterior setting with the pool, lounge and sitting areas. I made regular use of the charcoal BBQ which enhanced our meals.The kitchen is very well equipped. Rooms are also very comfortable.Mike was always responsive and helpful to our requests.

Family Holiday 2024

We last stayed here in 2012 - loved it then and still love it now. The villa is homely, well equipped and beautifully maintained and recent modernization has only added to the appeal. Excellent location with the town easily accessible and the gorgeous Centianes beach just across the road. Mike is a great and welcoming host. Fantastic villa

Wow - this villa has everything and more. We’ve been going to Carvoeiro for the past 8 years & this villa is by far the best we have ever stayed in. It was absolutely perfect, great location (about 20 mins walk into Carvoeiro). It has all the amenities you need and Mike was a fantastic host, he was extremely responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back. I can not recommend this villa enough to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay! Mike was so helpful and friendly and the villa was simply amazing. There were six adults in our party and we had plenty of space to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of the world. The property was well stocked and Mike provided a few welcome supplies! The pool and deck area was great! Plenty of room and Privacy. A lot of construction in area but outside the owners control. Mike is the most fantastic host and the villa is superb. We had a wonderful stay and Mike could not have been more helpful. The outside space is the real jewel in the crown here. Lots of seating and alternative areas for those seeking full sun or shade. Pool was fantastic too. If there is an elderly relative, taxis will probably be necessary when walking uphill in high temperatures to get into Carvoeiro or back from the beach but this villa and its host are both magnificent. 5* Fantastic Stay!

We have just returned from two weeks at this lovely villa. Mike was a fantastic host & helped make our stay go so well. Beds were comfy, kitchen offered everything we needed, outside area (a big part of our time away) was exactly as we needed, the shaded area was a god send in the August heat! Town is a 20 minute walk but absolutely worth it, its a lovely, busy, vibing little place! The beach is a 5 minute walk, great for an evening stroll and food looking out onto the sea. Spa and mini supermarket about a 10/15 minute walk. Id 100% recommend Casa Alto, you wont be disappointed. Thanks Mike, if we holiday in Portugal again, we will be in touch 😀 x

Fantastic

What a fantastic villa, we absolutely loved it. Five minutes from a beautiful beach, and just up the hill from a lovely pizzeria (where you can get Gluten Free pizza, great for Coeliacs). The villa itself was perfect – we especially loved the shaded area beyond the pool, the pool itself, and the patio right outside the house. The bedrooms were perfect, and two of the bathrooms have been done up. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living room was a welcome escape when the sun got too hot. Mike was so welcoming, so quick to help any time we asked for information, and the entire stay was a joy.

Family gathering

We were five and the house is very convenient for this number of people. We particularly enjoyed the pool area. Also very pleasant is the proximity of a beach and the trails on the cliffs between Carvoeiro and Bénagil. There are currently a few construction projects in the neibourghood generating noise and dust. This is out of the control of the owners. We were able to live with this. This is a place where I would happily go back.

Amazing time at Alto Mar

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights, and it was an amazing experience. Mike, the host, greeted us upon arrival, and the communication throughout our stay was excellent—every question we had was answered promptly. The house is spacious and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were pleasantly surprised by a bottle of wine and snacks to kick off our visit. Most of our time was spent enjoying the pool and patio, which we loved. Despite some construction in the neighborhood (which is beyond the host's control), we had an absolute blast. My favorite part was the breathtaking view of the ocean from the patio—it was simply stunning. Thank you, Mike, for hosting us. We had an incredible experience and truly hope to return!

Ein Urlaub, wie man sich ihn vorstellt

Wunderschönes großes Haus auf einer Anhöhe gelegen mit einem sehr schönen Außenpool. Auf Sauberkeit wird hier großen Wert gelegt. Die Ausstattung ist TOP, die Betten super bequem. In der Küche findet man alles, was man braucht. Der Meerblick beim Frühstück - unbezahlbar. Gastgeber Mike hat uns sehr nett empfangen. Er ist sehr hilfsbereit und steht mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Gerne wieder!

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit, die viel zu schnell rum ging. Die Villa ist genau, wie auf den Fotos zu sehen. Super ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht. Der Blick morgens auf den Pool und das Meer sind unbezahlbar. Einen besseren Platz zum Frühstücken gibt es nicht :) Die Lage ist perfekt für Tagestouren mit dem Auto nach zB Lagos oder Albufeira. In Carvoeiro selbst gibt es unzählige gute Restaurants und einen kleinen Strand. Kann man zu Fuß gehen - ist allerdings wie überall in der Algarve sehr hügelig.. Mike war ein toller und geduldiger Host. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen!

This was Wolfgang and friends first trip to Carvoeiro and they seemed to enjoy the area. The house was left clean and tidy and never heard from them for the stay, so no complaints from the owner. They would be very welcome to return!

We have had the pleasure of living in Carvoeiro for a number of years and for us it´s one of the nicest areas of the Algarve. Before moving here 18 years ago Mike has been visiting Carvoeiro since 1985 and eventually made the move after retiring .Emma has been visiting Carvoeiro for 15 years and eventually made the move 10 years ago, not quite old enough to retire and very much enjoying the running of a property management business in the local area.

Why they chose this property

Casa Alto Mar is an old style Portuguese villa, the location is ideal for the beach, it was always meant to be a rental property and we have not met anyone that wouldn't want to wake up each morning to beautiful sea views from just outside their bedroom doors. The villa is a nice 20 minute walk to town and just a 5 minute walk to the beach, it´s situated in a quiet cul-de-sac away from any busy roads and it is perfect for a nice peaceful break.

What makes this property unique

We believe the unique benefits of this property are the beautiful sea views from the terrace and the short walk down to the beautiful Centianes beach, it is a nice walk into town where you can enjoy everything Carvoeiro offers but back at the villa you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The villa is fantastic for a winter rental as the raised terrace is south facing and offers shelter so you can make the most of the sunshine all day, there is plenty of room for a couple of sun loungers on the raised terrace if you really want to relax.
