We absolutely loved staying there! It's a well-loved home, in great condition, in a quiet neighborhood, full of amenities, and close to Reykjavik, on the bus line.
A clean, comfortable, and cozy family home. Though buses or taxis are required to get to downtown and local supermarkets, the proximity to a complex with a large public swimming pool, small zoo, botanical gardens, and one amazing trampoline makes it an ideal location for families with children who need a break from sightseeing. Our host was flexible and helpful and we enjoyed our stay!
We stayed over New Year’s Eve, the property was amazing! Well kept, quiet and in the perfect location to get to the city. Lots of space for multiple people. Great place, would book again!
It is a nice house. It is a unit in a duplex. We never heard a peep from the unit next door. Quiet. Comfortable. Clean. Driveway parking. We would stay here again.
I would not only recommend the property as a cozy residential place to stay, but for the superb communication with the owners. The process was personal and all instructions were provided. I couldn’t of been more satisfied.
We had a wonderful experience in Iceland.
The host was very friendly and welcoming with an encore of opera singing. If you love your childhood memories ( I am in my fifties) this is the house for you.
The house was equipped with all the necessities for a vacation. Hand soap, laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent was supplied. Linen and towels as well.
If I ever go back to Iceland I would happily stay there again.
Almost everything was fantastic. Just a few suggestions...Purchase a refrigerator with a working ice machine and filtered water to drink. The tap water had a sulfur taste to it. Separating the trash seemed to be a big issue. I suggest you label the trash bins to avoid confusion. One last thing...put a "notice" on the surge protector that ii MUST be on for the internet to work. It was accidentally tripped when plugging in an adapter and it was not discovered for awhile.
This was a lovely family home, with plenty of room for our family to spread out after a long day of tours. Two water closets were definitely appreciated, and the choice of shower and tub were welcomed immensely. The kitchen area was functional, with enough room for us to sit around the table together. A washer and dryer helped freshen us up as well. The most welcome part of the visit was our host welcoming us to the property, and showing us all of the features of the house and informing us of the various services and minimal responsibilities for our stay. Considering our flight was late and we didn't get in until 1 am, I was very impressed by his presence. The fact that he also had provided coffee for the morning stood out in our mind. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend there. It's within a short walk to a beautiful park and athletics complex, and close to pick up the bus to get to the city center. The neighborhood is quiet, a perfect place for a family or group who enjoys relaxing after exploring, but still wants to be close to the city activity. If I'm able to come back to Reykjavik, this would be the first place I'd look to be available.
The house is a 1980's period furnished house with a fantastic location. Every in the house, from the hand built stone fireplace to quaint kitchen, was authentic. The location provided us with an easy way to either walk into town, take scooters or drive. Our entire family enjoyed our stay.

Nice property, dated but worked
We stayed two nights at this near town location. Owner was welcoming and accommodative to our schedule. Property was well maintained, clean and charming if a bit dated. You need a car but driving into the city was quick. Over all no complaints. Cozy family home is accurate as are the pictures and descriptions.
