Our gracious, 2BR/1.5BTH private row house is nestled among moss-covered trees in the exquisite Landmark Historic District. Built in 1875, our vacation home has ambiance and warmth, but with all of the modern conveniences.
The Blue Belle has beautiful, original wood plank flooring, four charming fireplaces, and a prestigious yet convenient location. If you want to relax, you'll love lounging in our large bedrooms, each offering comfortable queen beds with fine cotton linen sheets and plenty of pillows and blankets. Our updated full bath is supplied with lots of fluffy towels, and an endless supply of hot water for a long, indulgent shower.
Start your day with a cup of coffee - or tea- in the private, brick courtyard and listen to the birds sing in the morning. Then stroll to the Farmer's Market at Forsyth Park, or take a leisurely walk to the sights and sounds of bustling River Street. Enjoy scrumptious restaurants within walking distance or prepare a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen.
A sanctuary in the heart of it all, our guests continually thank us for letting them stay in such a lovely and safe location. Hear the history of Savannah by catching a hop on/hop off sightseeing trolley at Troup Square, one of our beautiful 22 squares, less than two blocks away. Ghost Tours, trendy boutiques, theaters, antiques, museums and local artists are all within walking distance.
With parking at a premium in the Landmark Historic District, you'll truly appreciate having your own private garage. Most guests park their car and don't use it again during their stay!
After a busy day, relax in front of your 40" Smart TV, where you can watch all of your favorite movies. Or, hop in your car and drive 20 minutes to Tybee Island for play time on the beach or in the ocean waves.
Slow down and enjoy Southern hospitality at The Blue Belle!

About Kay Koehler
We fell in love with Savannah on our first visit in 1995. Over the years, visit after visit, we knew that we wanted to call this charming city our second home. So, nearly a decade later, we bought our lovely, historic rowhouse right in the heart of the Landmark Historic District on beautiful Jones Street. Having traveled around the world and stayed at many bed and breakfasts, we knew exactly the experience we wanted our guests to have - for The Blue Belle to be a true 'home away from home' with luxurious and thoughtful touches. We hope that it is! Although we spend most of our time at our jobs in West Palm Beach, FL, we are lucky enough to get up to our charming second city three or four times a year. Someday we will retire there and live out our days sitting in the courtyard, a nice glass of wine in hand, and enjoy watching the moss on the large oaks blow in the breeze.
Kay Koehler purchased this House in 2005
Why Kay Koehler chose Historic District - South
Once we made the decision to make Savannah our second home, there was never a question of where we would buy - the Landmark Historic District. Although we saw some truly beautiful Victorians at far better prices, we both wanted to live in a home where safety wasn't a concern, where our neighbors were quiet and thougthful, and a lovely square was just a block or so away. When we first began renovating, we looked out our second floor bedroom windows and saw a wedding being held at the base of the sweeping stairs of the house directly across from ours; we knew then we had picked the perfect place!
What makes this House unique
We love to walk. It's no surprise that one of the things that attracted us to Savannah is its walkability. Within minutes we can be enjoying amazing chocolate chip pancakes at Clary's, browsing through the many shops on Broughton, or testing taffy down by the river. And, if we feel like a little boogie boarding, we're off to Tybee and in the water in 20 minutes. Most importantly, after a fun-filled day, we can come home to relax in a private courtyard and enjoy quiet charm of Savannah.

The house is great! The only thing that wasnt great was the pull out couch in the living room, but thankfully we brought an air mattress just in case!
Convenient location. Poorly equipped and maintained.
Vrbo photos were deceptive. Light filled rooms portrayed were actually dank. Mildewed towels, moldy coffee pot, broken ice maker, unworking tv, neglected garden, visible mildew and broken shutters at front entrance, stained sheets. Air conditioning in master bedroom did not cool. Stair hand rail dangerously loose. Savannah is a captivating city, just dont lock me in this house for more than two days !
We are disheartened to hear you did not enjoy your stay; in 12 years of renting our vacation home, we have received all 4 or 5 star reviews.
That said, it’s true that vacation rentals are not for everyone. Many people like the feel of being in a historic home. If you envision large yards and four sides of windows, then a row house built in 1875 isn’t going to meet your expectations. We want our guests to have a relaxing time and great experience, and wish we could’ve spoken before you rented to ensure this was a fit for you.
For simple things, such as if you were unable to work the Smart TV, we would’ve been happy to help you anytime, 24/7. And although we’ve never had complaints about the cleanliness of our home, if we had known, we would’ve sent the cleaning team back over to ensure everything was to your liking. Likewise, we are confused about the A/C; it is only one year old and had its annual maintenance just weeks before your stay. All of this is to say that had we known you were having issues, we would’ve promptly addressed them.
Nonetheless, we are happy that you enjoyed our beautiful city and are sorry that your experience was anything short of wonderful.
Sweet memories. Great house. Our youngest son proposed to his girlfriend in Forsyth Park with family all around. Our weekend together in the Blue Belle was perfect. Beautiful area, and almost everything was within walking distance. We had everything we needed. I would love to come back in the Fall when it's a little cooler. 😊
We feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful memory! Thank you for staying at our vacation home; we would love to have you have back anytime.
Great location , very nice house
The Blue Belle was perfect for our family of seven. We could walk from the house to most of the sites we wanted to see. The whole area is very historic and beautiful. Only about half an hour to get to Tybee island.
We are so happy you loved your time exploring the best of both worlds - our historic city and the relaxing island life! Please come back anytime!
Return to the Blue Belle
This was our second visit to Savannah, and our second stay at the Blue Belle. The home is right on the most beautiful cobble-stoned street, surrounded by historic homes in many styles. Clary's restaurant is a few blocks away for breakfast or lunch, and Kroger's is just a short drive on Gwinnett. We usually eat in when staying in a home, and did so this time, so I would say an update of the pots is in order (many of them were badly scratched) and the ice maker didn't have ice when we got there and never worked (although we read the manual which was left in the kitchen). Other than that, the house was as we remember - it has not been stripped of what makes it a true Savannah house built in the 1800's: you will have older stairs (narrow) and beautiful moulding around the ceilings with the rooms all painted in soft colors holding decorative but original fireplaces and mantles. A real joy was sitting by the window in the front bedroom, reading (or trying to) while just looking out the window at the live oaks draped over the cobble-stoned street, the variety of houses with their iron-work decorative touches, and interesting porches, the mangnolia trees in bloom, and the people walking around the neighborhood. To really enjoy the house, let yourself go back in time a bit and relish all the small touches to the house that make it so charming, from the 3 fireplaces and mantles, the white, decorative mouldings around the ceiling in the livingroom and dining area, the delicate wallpaper patterns, the painted chest in the master bedroom, even the door knocker and sliding covered lock on the front door. The Blue Belle is a true southern belle who will reward you if you respect her, and you will enjoy returning each day after a long leisurely walk or a road trip out of the city. Or park in the garage off the lane in the back (a real perk when parking is often at a premium in the neighborhood) and enter through the back courtyard.
Savannah is a real pleasure for the senses in every way and we enjoyed our stay once again at the Blue Belle on Jones Street. Kay, the owner of the Blue Belle, is quick to reply to any questions and concerns you may have while you are booking. We were provided with what we needed to have another lovely week in Savannah.
We were pleased to have you back at our Blue Belle and glad that you had another wonderful stay.
It's great when guests appreciate the uniqueness of a period home, while enjoying the modern conveniences. It's clear that you did! Thank you for your kind words about our Savannah gem.
Looking forward to having you again for your next Savannah vacation.
PS. We'll be there over the weekend for a "refresh" on the little things - pots & pans, etc. You can enjoy them when you are back next!
Amazing place in a perfect location!
We celebrated a friend's bachelorette party in Savannah this weekend and the Blue Belle was perfect! Pictures do not do it justice. There is so much more space than it appears in the picture. With 7 girls we didn't have a single sleeping problem and there is lots of seating for hanging out and chatting. The stairs may not be ideal for older guests or small children. Check-in and out could not have been easier. We especially loved the beautiful location! We were able to walk literally everywhere (very active group) and enjoy the wonderful scenery and weather. Would highly recommend!
We are so glad you enjoyed the Blue Belle and our lovely Savannah neighborhood. Please come back anytime!
