Lovely apartment! Bonus being on ground floor. Near to all amenities- cafes shops and restaurants. Approximately 15 min walk to train station. Full kitchen but we ate out so only used for drinks. Would definitely stay again if we return to Lucca.

Nice comfortable apartment in good location.

Nice comfortable apartment in good location. A little surprised to have to pay for electricity In addition to cost of apartment which as far as I was was not advised at time of booking. Only aware of this charge two weeks prior to arrival. Only a small criticism on the bedding and towels provided. Nothing matched and towels appeared old and could do with replacing. Otherwise a nice traditional apartment.

Great home in Lucca and Sonia was the perfect host

What a wonderful experience to enjoy the beauty of Tuscany at this picturesque apartment! The stay at the apartment was exceptional and second to none. The interiors and the decor was spectacular! We received 5 star service from all the staff of Mrs Sonia and the apartment provided us an opportunity to explore the wonders of Tuscany including Lucca, Florence, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano and Vinci. We enjoyed your special welcome. Wifi was reliable and the apartment was immaculate and clean. We will long remember the precious time we spent with those we met and the wonderful experience we encountered during our stay. Best wishes!

Fabulous apartment in a great location

We have just spent 4 nights in your lovely apartment . It’s in a great location ,easy to walk to everything and the air con is a god send . The info book is very useful- just to note we went to the market in Port Eliza , it’s not there anymore it is now much closer to the apartment !! We walked 3 miles round trip in blistering heat to find that out 🙈 We were interested in your restaurant recommendations but found them difficult to locate so addresses would be useful to google map. We really enjoyed our time here and loved the music festival We will be back it’s a fantastic apartment

Lovely apartment in good location just away from the action

The apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed for a ten night stay with two adults two children in peak summer(easy acccess, washing machine, air con, separate bathrooms etc). Parking at don baroni was short walk so not a problem before/after a day out. Bakery close to the apartment was very good and reasonable. Minimart close also and enough gelatarias (our favourite was gelato di pieri I think on via Roma by via filungo) and restaurants to keep you busy for a while. Lucca is a beautiful place to visit and/or use as a base and the apartment is conveniently placed and makes you feel very much at home and part of the city

Beautiful Property with a convenient location

Sonia was a joy to work with, and was very accommodating. The property was exactly as depicted in photos and descriptions were extremely accurate. The kitchen was large and easily accommodated six for dinner, and the additional bathroom was convenient for guests. The location was very near the main shopping street "Via Fillungo" and quite near many fine restaurants and the grocery store. We would recommend this property and would definitely book it again on any future trips to Lucca.

Time Travel Back in History

You could not ask for a more beautiful apartment. The interior has been recently renovated. The ceilings are original and so beautiful. It is a very spacious with ample room for four people. It has three bathrooms, one with a bathtub. You are close to everything. We chose to park outside the wall, an easy walk of about eight minutes. Cost was about six euros per day. Ms. Sonia delivered! She met us at the apartment and had a three ring binder with all the answers to your questions. It included how to operate the washer/dryer, where to eat, what to do, etc. She was always reachable by phone if needed. This place was the highlight of our accomodations during our 18 days in France and Italy.

Fantastic Lucca Apartment Rental

This is a wonderful place to stay in Lucca if you are there for a week or more (and it is certainly a city worth spending time in). being on the ground floor it was perfect for my 87 years old mum. The flat itself has everything you could want, the bathrooms have good showers and a bathtub. It also has a washing machine and clothes dryer. The sitting room is very comfortable, with quality couches, and those amazing interiors. There is useful reading material in English about Lucca. And importantly, the beds, large and in separate bedrooms with good cupboard space is also very comfortable. The highlight for us was the space. There is a high quality grocery/delicatessen/wine shop practically next door (to the right from the front door) selling the best of Tuscan produce, and a very large supermarket tucked away downstairs in an arcade to the left just a minute's walk away. We tried a variety of local restaurants, and preferred the unpretentious osteria which offer limited menus of good home style Tuscan cooking and decent house wine for very reasonable prices. Lucca is a small city, and all its major attractions are within an easy stroll of the apartment. It also makes a good base to explore the Tuscan countryside or for a day trip to Florence. Not having a car we booked a day trip with local guide, Mrs Isa, to visit some wineries on the hills to try the famous Lucca wines. This was a great day out with a very engaging and knowledgeable guide. Sonia was a very gentle and honest host. We highly recommend a stay in this Lucca flat

Fantastic apartment in the centre of Lucca

The apartment was excellent.. The kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to cook meals for our family and baby grandson who had just commenced solids. The huge living area was lovely to sit on and relax whilst drinking coffee or a wine. We had almost every meal in the apartment. It was also great for the children to play on. The antique palace had a courtyard which was also good to allow our children to play. The apartment was close to shops and the free parking was right behind the apartment. It also has bikes, very rare! It was close to the train which allowed us to go into Rome and sight-see. There are plenty of resturants around for dining and even exciting groceries. Overall the apartment was neat , clean and well presented. Sonia was a fantastic host and made extra efforts to accommodate my family. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Lucca and will do it again next time we travel to Italy (2 years). Thank you!

Great Location and Lots of Room

The location of the apartment is ideal. Very close to san Michele square and via fillungo and the public transportation, but it's on the "residential" side of the town: an elegant and quiet street. So you feel a little more like a "local". The Duomo and train station are both about 5/10 minutes walk or less. The apartment itself is very nice and roomy. We're a family of 4 and everyone was comfortable. Everything was clean and ready for us on arrival. Mrs Sonia checked us in and spent plenty of time showing us her recos on a map - even providing us with a list of favorite restaurants of all types. She also takes the time to show every nook and cranny of the apartment so you know how to use everything. The beds are new and comfortable, the apartment is fresh, well decorated and maintained. Wi-fi connection for free and elevator. Everything worked smoothly. We recommend this apartment. Liz

Sonia is a great host

Mrs Sonia and her selection of apartments was highly recommended by a family member and we were not disappointed. From the start Mrs Sonia helped us choose the right apartment for our party of 4 (2 senior couples) Sonia kept in touch with us regularly, and made sure we found our way to the apartment with ease. Casa Simonetta was all we could have wished for. The apartment was incredibly spacious, grand and had everything we needed including access to bikes. The owner Mrs Simonetta could not have been more helpful. It was a joy to stay there. We will definitely return to Lucca and would highly recommend Mrs Sonia. Thank you Sonia and Simonetta.

we will be back

We had an enjoyable stay here in late early november. After a previous week at a couple of hotels it was good to have an apartment with your own space for eating and washing. There was lots of room for the four of us. The apartment was very handy for amenities nearby also. We loved the character of the apartment and having the bike with our own garage attached to the apartment was a real bonus. Sonia was easy to deal with and took great care of us. She was helpful and smiling and answered promptly to all our questions and concerns. The two towers you can climb at Lucca are well worth a visit and the walls are very special. I ran around them a couple of times and its interesting seeing all the locals either walking or running or taking their dogs for walks. One day we travelled early to Pisa by train and so missed the crowds when going up the leaning tower. We also had trips into the Garfagnana area and to the seaside which is very close.

Lucca Treasures

Thank you so much for making our holiday at Casa Simonetta so pleasant. We loved the apartment and the way you decorated. Every piece tells history. The location is very romantic and in a quiet area close to the main shopping and sights. And we will never forget it. All the rooms and the bedrooms are very spacious, the kitchen was superbly equipped. The huge living room had a fantastic design with its high beamed ceiling! This is an apartment where I could live for longtime, I also felt 'very secure'. Instructions for meeting were clear, arrival worked smoothly and our host was promptly over the phone for any request. Thank you very much Sonia, it’s always a pleasure to come back to Lucca and renting one of your properties!

Poor and would not go back to this place again

I loved Lucca and will go back. This was my first home away experience. I was with Matz Peretz family who also was there in a gorgeous place that ms Sonia had rented them. Mine regrettably was quite flawed. No Ac but fir one room and I mentioned it day one to the gal who met me there and she denied nicely that fact so the heat was awful but for one bedroom which was marginal but doable. Next not one glass in kitchen but since I could stay in any room due to the heat I managed. Was never going to use the room. The dryer did not work and despite an email to that effect by Jesse Matz who tried to help me by writing we heard nothing so no clothes were not washed. While maybe it worked I needed a lesson on how not just to be told that it was a dryer and a washer as it was way more complicated than USA. The good news is while spending most of my waking time at Matz Peretz place I came to understand it was possible to have very decent modern housing which is the only kind I would be interested in. So in short I did not feel that this place had done the right job at all and concluded they should remove it fix the Ac the dryer provide glasses and consider washing the stone floor which was dirty and required feet washing whenever I walked across is barefooted. I am glad to be able to share this and believe that if ms Sonia did these things it would have been fine. I still want better but it would have worked

best place ever

It has been our second time renting a place with Sonia. Description was right on. Apartment was immaculate, well-maintained, nicely stocked, wonderful location. Right next to bus station making it easily accessible to both Pisa and any location in Tuscany. Not only would we recommend, but we would rent again the next time we are in Lucca. Nice restaurants locally and grocery store around the block. Charming welcome from the owner (Mrs Sonia), a very kind lady. Thanks again from Phil and Cynthia

Wonderful location with bicycles as well

Great family accommodation that easily catered for 4 adults and 1 young lady (on an extra fold away bed). Close to Via Fillungo with its shopping and the Piazza dell'Anfitreato with its cafes snd restaurants, this is an ideal place to stay in Lucca. The kitchen is well equipped and there are large supermarkets not far outside the city walls - an easy bicycle ride away. There is a minimart a short walk away for the less adventurous. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are a good size. Thr only doenside is yhat you cannot use 2 appliances at the same time as this blows yhe fuse. Otherwise a grast find.

You will be in good hands

What a sweet and delightful traditional Lucca apartment. Located on a uniquely characteristic street close to the botanical gardens, the apartment is quiet, and very comfortable. The traditional kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms are modern and clean. In fact, the whole apartment is extremely clean and comfortable with every need catered for. We enjoyed easy access to the wall for daily walks and bike rides and there are plenty of nearby stores for food, drinks and other necessities. Sonia presented an abundance of information about Lucca, where to eat, drink and buy food and her team were extremely helpful in organizing anything from tours to language lessons. You will be in good hands if staying in one of Sonia's apartments. We visited Lucca 2 years ago for the first time and stayed in one of her properties too. She’s amazing.

WE enjoyed every minute

My husband and I with another couple spent two weeks in Sonia's apartment, and the convenience and the amenities really enhanced our time in Lucca. We enjoyed the pleasant, upscale furnishings of the apartment and its very close proximity to the parking and railway station. I can’t even imagine how many miles we travelled in the two weeks as we used public transport every day, all day. The kitchen and washer really made our stay so much more pleasant than staying in a hotel. The wifi that is included is nice too. We enjoyed food shopping at the Cuore Gastronomia (just a quick and scenic 5 minute walk along the close-by shopping street). The groceries street in front of the apartment had fresh meat and produce which we loved! The housekeeper who checked us in was very helpful in showing us around the apartment and explaining the appliances, and the driver that Sonia arranged named Daniele was a total delight. I highly recommended having him drive you from the airport and back. It certainly reduced our stress level knowing that he would be transporting us. Also, the neighbourhood was quiet and upscale. We felt very safe and comfortable throughout our stay. I highly recommend this apartment. We are already contemplating a return trip because there is so much we didn’t get to do and see, and we will definitely stay at Sonia's apartment again as we enjoyed every minute!

Lovely pre-Christmas break

This is the second time that I have stayed at one of Sonia’s properties. My latest stay was as charming as the first. The apartment is simply lovely and elegant at the same time, spacious and the location can't be beat. There are many great restaurants, shop and cafes close by. The facilities are exactly as described on the website: reliable hispeed wi-fi connection, bikes and perfect heating. Everything was clean and properly maintained. The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare a snack or a full meal. Sonia picked us up at the train station and made sure we were comfortable with the keys and appliances. She showed us the basket of tourist information that she had organized (which included restaurant recommendations, suggestions for daytrips and emergency contact info). Sonia was also so helpful when we decided to rent a car a few days after our arrival and we contacted her by phone to get suggestions on the best places to visit and to get an advice on where to find the most reliable car rental company. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to explore the beautiful town of Lucca and the surrounding countryside of Tuscany.

Not much to add to the other reviews - except to echo what they say. The apartment really is as described - we needed for nothing and we found Sonia to be most helpful - she even let us in early as we arrived in Lucca before we originally planned. Thanks for facilitating a really relaxing and good quality holiday!

Sonia: an excellent host

We truly enjoyed our stay with Soni. She is an excellent hosts and we spent quite a bit of time with her. She made us feel like "familia". The apartment is definitely an high end property and it was very clean, attractive and comfortable. We worked in Sonia's vineyard outside of Lucca for 2 days to help with the grape harvest and enjoyed that. Mrs Cristina (Sonia's emplyee) was a big help as she drove us to the entrance to the AutoStradde (highway) the day before we left to make sure we could find our way to the airport in Pisa. Sonia is very prompt and helpful and is a pleasure to work with. We would strongly recommend Casa Simonetta as a vacation destination.

Many thanks Mrs Sonia!

Many thanks for making our stay in Lucca special. We loved the apartment, it was perfect for our needs. We really appreciated the authentic feel but with all the 'mod cons', especially air conditioning and the very reliable wi-fi connection! As for Lucca, we love it even more. We will return. a place to call home

We called this apartment home for two weeks. It was our palazzo! After a day of daytripping to Florence, it was a pleasure to know we had this home to come home to. Even before our arrival in Lucca Sonia was helpful with getting us tickets for the Puccini concert at the Church of San Giovanni and the transportation to the airport. She made us feel welcome in the home. It was also neat to "bump" into her as we made our way around town. For part of the time there were one couple, then another couple joined the second week, all very comfortable. We had the facility of bikes to ride and Lucca was a wonderful place to add to our holiday destination. I know we will all remember with pleasure our time together in Lucca. Thank you very much Sonia we hope to be back one day.

The Best Apartment of the Trip

I rented the apartment for my parents who visited Italy for the first time this year. I was not part of the trip unfortunately, maybe next time my husband and I will tag along! They loved the apartment. It was well furnished, had all the amenities that they could hope for and was ideally located. They could walk everywhere and really had a good sense of life in Lucca. Thank you on their behalf, Lucca was their last stop and the best apartment they stayed in. It ended their trip on a great note.

Extraordinary Experience in Lucca!! Loved by all!!

Our daughter is studying this semester in Lucca at the IMT so we had been planning this trip for some time. There were four of us going over to see her and enjoy Lucca. The travelers were myself, my husband, my brother and his wife. Mrs Sonia was very responsive with all of our questions prior to the trip, always answering our emails within the same day, which was very helpful. The apartment is gorgeous and was perfect for the four of us! The bedrooms have a private bath each which makes it very nice for two families plus a third bathroom which was very nice since we had visitors during our stay. It was fantastic!! It is a very large apartment and there was even enough room for my daughter to stay with us which was a very special treat for us all. Perfect location. Easy walk to Duomo and to all places in Lucca. We walked everywhere and enjoyed this very much. Wonderful fresh market just a few blocks away. Sonia was there to answer all questions and recommend local restaurants which we enjoyed tremendously!! It was a wonderful experience for each of us and for all of us as a family!! We are missing it terribly but have fantastic memories!! Thanks Sonia!! Highly recommended!!
