Forget driving and parking, this is one of the best-located properties in Athens. The simple, modern design of this home makes for a relaxed, carefree stay. Unique windows and room design provide glorious light while providing privacy from the street. A kitchen where you can really enjoy cooking. Off-street parking accommodates 4 cars (up to 6 cars if you want to pack them in on game days) with additional parking available on the street.
The house has three spacious bedrooms. The Master Suite on the main level has a queen bed with Leesa mattress, walk-in shower, and antique claw-foot soaking tub. Upstairs bedrooms are separated by a wide landing, providing privacy and sound isolation. Upstairs, the King Room has a memory foam king bed with tub/shower and walk-in closet. The Queen Room has a queen bed with Leesa mattress, dedicated shower, and walk-in closet. All bedrooms have vaulted ceilings that add to the feeling of spaciousness. In addition, there is a queen AERObed and a full-size futon if needed. There is also a half bath on the main level.
Dudley Park is directly across the street, with the Oconee River Greenway just around the corner. Make the 3-minute walk to Mama's Boy for the best (and most fun) breakfast or lunch in Athens, then stroll downtown or walk back along Trail Creek and the Oconee River to the house via the beautiful greenway. Downtown Athens has a well deserved reputation for food, music, and fun, while greater Athens provides concerts, museums, markets, the state botanical gardens, hiking, biking, water sports on the French Broad River and, of course, all things UGA!

About Stephen and Jill Davis
We're Steve and Jill, both native Atlantans. Jill works at an Atlanta ad agency. Until recently Steve was CTO at a nationally known media services company. Now retired, he is directing his geek super powers toward Mulberry Fields. We love Atlanta, but let's face it, it can be a little hectic. A few years down the road we wanted to move to a more compact walkable city, but we didn't want to give up music, food, or culture. We decided on Athens, which has everything we were looking for in a city and allows us to maintain our Atlanta connections. So in a few years the house you are renting will be our full time residence. (We can't wait!) Since this will be our permanent home someday, we will continue to add improvements and will never cut corners on the property.

Why Stephen and Jill Davis chose Clarke County
We couldn't believe our luck in finding this place. The house is a one-of-a-kind by designer/builder Eric Wright. It was designed to leave a light footprint on our planet, but the spaces, textures, and light just have a feeling of Wright-ness (okay, pun intended). It is truly in a Goldilocks location, a very short walk to all of the downtown and campus action, but just across the river and sited right across from quiet, lovely Dudley Park!
What makes this House unique
The location is just to the east of downtown. It is extremely close to both the University (Sanford Stadium) and the downtown scene, but being on the east side of the Oconee River, it is quiet and laid back, with the beautiful Oconee Greenway just around the corner. It is also just a few blocks from Exit 8 on Loop 10, so getting into and out of town is a breeze - no need to run the gauntlet of Broad Street. On weekends you will see cars mysteriously parked across the street from the house. Those are locals who park here to make the walk to Mama's Boy, a standout in the already exceptional Athens restaurant scene. A short walk in the other direction takes you to Weaver D.'s., the little soul food joint that gave us the expression "Automatic for the people," the inspiration for one of REM's most famous album titles. In under 10 minutes you can walk to The Classic Center for major concerts. Walk another block and you are in the heart of the downtown retail/entertainment district. In the other direction it's about a fifteen minute walk to Sanford Stadium. Once you arrive you can enjoy so much of Athens without getting back in your car. By car, you are less than ten minutes from all Athens has to offer. We also can't say enough about the sunken garden. It is so private and so pleasant!

Perfect house for our family get-away!
Loved the cool details of this great house. It was so comfortable! We would love to come back...
Great getaway in Athens!
Very special and unique property. Well decorated and furnished. Wonderful experience!
The house is very clean & modern & has plenty of room - we had 6 adults stay for 4 nights. The location is great - close to downtown & campus. The hosts were great! They provided a lot of information about the house & Athens. They also had everything you need as far as toiletries, kitchenware, etc. Would definitely stay again!
Completely recommend! Super clean, great location, owners very accommodating and responsive.
Comfortable and well appointed
Conveniently located, this home is full of natural daylight, is well-designed and a super nice place to stay. We used it for a Thanksgiving visit with our son. It was perfect.
I can't say enough about this place and its owners. The house has everything - it's clean, beautifully furnished and designed, and within easy walking distance to downtown and Sanford Stadium. The owners are a dream - helpful, considerate, and immediately available to answer questions. We've rented a lot of VRBOs over the years - our two trips to Athens staying in this house have been our best VRBO experiences yet!
Aside from the University of Georgia and the famous Georgia Bulldogs, Athens is a rich environment for bar-hopping, cuisine at all levels, live music, and eclectic shopping. Culture also abounds with concerts, museums, libraries, and the state botanical gardens nearby.
