Almost oceanfront, well equipped condo conveniently located in White Sands Village on Alii Dr - just 4 miles from Kona Village Center- 2nd floor w/elevator access right outside the unit -sleeps up to 6 people, with a queen bed in the master bedroom and two twin beds or 1 king in the guest bedroom. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa. There are two flat screen smart TVs, cable and Wi-Fi. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking/dining in and has full size appliances. Their is washer and dryer in the unit. The large lanai offers ocean and mountain views with a table for outdoor dining and lounger. Ceiling fans and central air conditioning will keep you cool. Reserved covered parking is directly below the unit.

Cross the street and you'll have your toes in the warm sand at White SandBeach, also known as Magic Sands Beach. Bask in the sun, go boogie boarding in the waves, or just relax and enjoy the sunset at this popular beach. The beach has a staffed lifeguard stand, outdoor shower, restrooms and a beach volleyball court. Just a mile down the road is the famous, protected snorkeling beach Kahalu'u - with tons of colorful tropical fish and green sea turtles - great for beginners and experts. We have beach chairs, beach towels, coolers, and boogie boards for your use. Also close by are great paddle boarding, kayaking and surfing areas.

The complex has resort-like amenities: pool and hot tub, tennis courts, pool table, and outdoor kitchen/grills/dining area.

The complex is just 4 miles south of Kona village with it's many restaurants, boutiques, gift shops, massage, Henna tattoos, and a Farmer's Market. The pier downtown is a great starting point for a paddle or an open-water swim with the dolphins along the marked IronMan World Triathlon course. A ride on the open-air Alli Trolley is a fun way to travel to town.

Keahou Shopping Center- groceries, Longs Drug, theater, Post Office, restaurants, farmers market (Sat.) and outdoor concerts- is only 2 miles away

Great!

Great place for our family of 4! The condo was really clean and was a great base for exploring around Kona. We enjoyed the use of the beach accessories, the kitchen, eating out on the lanai, and the use of the condo pool. Great location across from Magic Sands beach and easy access to the shopping center/grocery just a couple miles down the road. Thanks for a great stay!

Great Location!

We loved the location of this unit. It is literally right across the street from our favorite beach (white sands). We had easy access to shopping, highways, and downtown. The unit itself had ll the amenities needed to make our stay wonderful. Great space! The unit furnishings and upkeep was a bit dated. There was a strange smell in all cabinets though it wasn't bothersome if we left them closed. The little bugs (ants?) are no joke. The second a crumb was left behind, they were there in droves. We kept them under control.

Better units available at same facility

We have stayed at this facility twice and this unit was not as nice as the first place which is offered at the same price. Main complaints were the bed in the master was extremely uncomfortable, we had to deal with constant ants even though we kept ALL the food in the fridge, and the unit itself is much smaller than some of the other units.

WARNING: Don't believe tourist information sites about the vog. The vog can definitely be an issue - we only had 1 1/2 decent days out of 7. Some days it was so bad it was giving us sore throats and headaches.

Owner's Response: This is the first complaint we've received about the bed, and having slept on it myself without any problem, can only say that you cant please everyone when it comes to beds. The ants were not brought to our attention during the stay. T he condos are fumigated quarterly, and keeping a clean kitchen usually takes care of them. This unit is a bit smaller (maybe 50 sq ft} than other units because of its location next to the stairwell and elevator-which is a plus. The VOG is the VOG - and clearly is beyond anyone's control.

The Suite was tailor made for out needs

Great accommodations and location

We stayed at Banta Hale with another couple for six weeks. (Feb/March '18) Everything we needed was there - each couple had their own bedroom and bath which we all found comfortable. We had occasion to use the sleeper sofa which was surprisingly comfortable. We didn't want or need to use the AC; there are ceiling fans as well as additional fans available. We liked the windows open to enjoy the sounds of the waves. We ate every meal on the deck. The kitchen had most everything we needed. (We contributed a 12 cup coffeemaker, the Keureg wasn't practical with four serious coffee drinkers)

The condo building has a great pool, hot tub. pool table and grills available. The location was perfect - close enough to get to downtown Kona by trolley (stops right by building), rental bikes or car - but not too close to the crowds and bustle of that area. The unit's parking spot is even convenient - close to the elevator - nice for carrying up groceries, etc.

There's a snorkeling beach a mile down Ali'i Drive. You are right across the street from Magic Sands Beach where we'd go for a morning dip or to watch the sunset. But it's a small beach that can get crowded during the day. We used the condo's beach chairs, boogie boards, towels and cooler for day trips to the beautiful beaches north of Kona.

Keahou shopping center is a quick car drive south of the condo - everything you'd need is there. We made a few trips to Costco or Walmart for staples. Not many restaurants within walking distance but we cooked at the condo a lot and had a few special dinners out. The Big Island is amazing - you definitely a need a car to take incredible day trips and then back to the condo to enjoy an evening swim. We feel fortunate to have had a long stay on the Big Island at Banta Hale. It's a really great place at a very reasonable rate. We didn't need to contact Gary for anything; but I'm confident he would have responded quickly if we had. He was very pleasant to work with.
