This stylish, comfortable and very well equipped apartment which is beautifully maintained by its owners offers a delightful property in which to enjoy its wonderful waterfront location.

ONE ON-SITE PARKING SPACE and ONE PERMIT FOR A SECOND CAR.


8 Mayflower Court features a filtered heat recovery system to aid airflow throughout and with its slightly raised insulated floors this gives the added benefit of even better views of the water. Electric radiators and underfloor heating keeps the apartment snug in the cooler months.

From the private parking area at the rear of the property, there are 24 steps up to the back door (there is also access from the front via the well-lit internal staircase). The back door opens into the well-equipped kitchen with an induction hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and washer-dryer. There's also a Nespresso coffee machine and a Bluetooth speaker with DAB radio.

The open-plan living/dining area is laid out to make the most of the beautiful panoramic views of the river and embankment. It is furnished with a 2/3-seater sofa and coordinating armchairs and coffee tables, all with accent wood frames, a bookcase, smart TV, and an Internet-connected radio. The circular oak dining table and upholstered chairs are set by the window, providing one of the best dining spots in Dartmouth, as well as the ideal place to enjoy a coffee with the newspaper.

The spacious master bedroom - with a king-size bed, fitted wardrobe, and bedside table - also has a sizeable river-facing window - perfect for enjoying an early morning ‘cuppa'!

The second bedroom has twin beds and a fitted wardrobe.

The spacious family bathroom features a bath, a generous shower, and a heated towel rail.


Parking


The apartment comes with two parking perks.

There is space for one car at the rear of the property, best suited for small and medium-sized vehicles.

And, if you have a second car (or larger vehicle), a parking permit is also provided, giving unrestricted access to the Mayors Avenue Car Park less than 100m away. The permit does not guarantee a parking space, and it can get very busy during the summer and special events, such as the Royal Regatta week (during which the car park is closed.

There are publicly available EV charging points located directly opposite the entrance to the private car park. There are also chargers at the Mayors Avenue Car Park.

PLEASE NOTE - The preferred changeover day for this property is Friday with weekly bookings. However, for an alternative day or shorter breaks, please contact us.

A perfect location for exploring Dartmouth & the river

This has been our first visit to Dartmouth, inspired in part by Claire Balding's TV series. We were lucky to have good weather while we were there - windy most days, but dry and bright, allowing us to do most of what we had planned. The Food Festival was an unexpected bonus, even if it made parking in the town a bit problematic, considering the apartment parking was closed due to gas works. But we managed OK in the end. The apartment is comfortable and very well equipped - we don't eat out much at all, so to have M&S just round the corner, and more than adequate cooking facilities was just right for us. The view from the apartment, though, is really what makes this a wonderful place to stay - there is always something going on to watch, and at nights the lights of Kingswear make a beautiful backdrop. We visited Greenway using the Christie Belle ferry - the house is well worth a visit if you are into Agatha Christie - and we also took the cruise up river to Totnes. A walk to Dartmouth Castle, watching the steam trains in Kingswear, and a ferry+bus trip to Brixham (with huge fish and chip lunch at Brixham Fish!!) made up the rest of our excursions. A most enjoyable week. We would highly recommend the apartment, though we never did work out how to get the bathroom underfloor heating working - the instructions need a bit of clarification, I think. If you are taking an all-electric car, as we did, be aware that there are limited charging points around the town, and are often occupied. We found the one in the Mayors Avenue car park was available more late evenings, but was only running at half power, so we were plugged in for about 6 hours!

our stay in Dartmouth

I didn't realise how much we would enjoy watching the river view while staying at the flat. Not only that but the flat was well appointed and conveniently situated with clear instructions on how to use the appliances. As we preferred to use the front door to enter and exit the flat a second set of keys would have been handy.

Lovely flat in fantastic location

We’ve just returned from a week at this lovely flat. It’s in a great location, close to pubs and restaurants, right on the river and round the corner from M&S food. The only negative thing to note (if you’re a very light sleeper like me) is that the noise insulation from neighbouring flats isn’t good & we could hear the man in the upstairs flat snoring & getting up in the night!

This is a modern and comfortable apartment with amazing views of the river. Perfectly situated for a 5 minute walk into town. Parking space a real bonus. Would highly recommend for couples and family with older children.

A cosy comfortable apartment

We had a wonderful holiday in our beloved Dartmouth in this lovely apartment which had everything we needed. Most welcome was the milk and biscuits provided for our arrival, something which seems to have disappeared in other properties. Our only complaints are that it was the most expensive property in the block for a relatively small place and compared to others we've stayed. The arrival time of 4pm is also late especially for an Autumn break.

A nicely situated property close to the centre of town. Well furnished and in very good condition, very clean throughout with all regular equipment available. Parking at property was a bonus as street parking was filled early in the day.

Lovely place but not given enough information

Really comfortable apartment for a family and perfect location. Only issue we had was that the company would not provide us with a code to access the front door despite repeated requests (we had a spare key which we assumed was the front door but couldn’t get in the building) We therefore had to walk around the block which was not well lit, to go in the back door. To not have access to both exit/entrances was not what we expected or safe.

Perfect in every way

Just returned from our holiday to Dartmouth, 8 Mayflower Court is the perfect apartment to stay in, spotlessly clean & immaculate with everything you need for a perfect holiday, we couldn't fault it, the decor was lovely & with the added bonus of parking on site it was fab. The icing on the cake are the spectacular views that you get from both the living room & main bedroom, to wake up & see that stunning view every morning was just the best. We will definitely return again & would highly recommend it xx

Excellent quality accommodation

Location of this flat is perfect for centre of Dartmouth and the view across the estuary to Kingswear is amazing. Accommodation is very well furnished with no expense spared and everything maintained in good condition. Double bed was so comfortable we came home and purchased the very same mattress! Lots of helpful little notes around to help with 'need to knows'. Fortunately the owners provide a parking permit for both the flat car park and Mayors Avenue - it is, as stated by others, very tight to say the least below the flat. Mayors Avenue car park can be busy all day so it's a little stressful wondering if there will be a space available when returning from a day out. Don't think this would stop us from coming back as we don't tend to holiday during peak season/school holidays and the flat, aside from the parking, is lovely.

Location location location

This was our forth stay in Mayflower Court and third in No 8. The first things that attract you are the location of the property and the stunning views overlooking the river. There is always something interesting happening on the water and the steam railway beyond. The apartment is well appointed, comfortable and clean with all amenities. Having on-site parking is very important in Dartmouth which can become very busy. The bonus for us is the additional business car park pass which can be used for the adjacent Mayor's Avenue car park should there be several larger cars on site which can make it difficult to park in the on-site car park. This was not an issue on this visit but has been in the past. This all contributed to a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday.

the best view in Dartmouth

This is our tenth holiday at this wonderful apartment. The view from the apartment takes your breath away, in the evening with the lights over the water it is magical. It is immaculately clean, very well equipped kitchen, everything you could need is there. Walking distance of all the shops, boat trips and restaurants - it is all on your doorstep. Highly recommended and we will be back for our eleventh holiday next year.

Wonderful first family holiday in Dartmouth

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mayflower Court - a first family holiday with our 10 month old baby son. The location was excellent with a stunning view. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very well equipped for a week’s self catering. One small suggestion for improvement would be a thinner duvet on the double bed - it was too warm!

WONDERFUL LOCATION

The flat has some lovely views, making it a hard decision whether to go out or to spend the holiday looking at the constantly changing river views. It is very well appointed, fully equipped with everything, and more, that the most fastidious cook would require. It is extremely quiet with no noise intrusion from surrounding properties and is light and airy. Of course, a lift would be the icing on the cake but one learns to live with the absence of one.. This was our second time of staying in no 8 and we hope to return

You cannot fail to have a great stay in this apartment.

No.8 is a very well appointed, comfortably furnished apartment with amazing views over the River Dart & beyond to the steam train arriving and departing on a regular basis. Note: this is a second floor apartment with no lift. A parking space is provided, together with a pass to other South Hams car parks.. We loved our stay and are happy to recommend to others. Footnote - We found getting out of the shower a bit scary, and wonder if the owners could provide a steadying handle between the shower and bathroom doors? Suggest visitors bring a shower mat.

Another wonderful holiday in No 8 Mayflower

A perfect holiday apartment over looking the Dart. Spotlessly clean and Covid safe. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to dine in, if that is your preference. Fabulous beds ensure a good nights sleep. Location is excellent, very close to town centre and various walks to suit everyones level of fitness. On site parking is a bonus.

Those stairs!

The position of 8 Mayflower Court is impossible to find fault with.It has an everchanging view of the comings and going on the Dart and . in the unlikely even that this should pale, there is the nostalgic sight and sound of the Steam railway in the background. But... oh those stairs. I realise that the Courts was built before lifts were the norm, but, as someone of advanced year,s I will have to consider carefully before making a repeat booking

Superb

A superb apartment in a superb location and we will definately return. Nice touch was tea, biscuits and milk on arrival - very welcome. Parking is a bit tight but there is a parking permit provided for the larger car-park around the corner.

Excellent service and holiday at Dartmouth

Our stay at 8 mayflower Court was excellent. From the welcoming pack, through to the extremely well furnished flat.. the staff were on hand if you needed them. Position on the water front giving great views of boats excellent.

Excellent holiday

We have stayed at no 8 Mayflower Court a number of times now and it has always been an excellent holiday. Every comfort has been thought of by the owner and we would recommend the property. The only downside is the parking situation. Although a parking space is provided, they are not numbered for each flat and in this era of large four by fours, we several times found ourselves boxed in.

best views imaginable!

Having stayed at 8 Mayflower Court nine times tells you how good it is. It has the most wonderful views over the river Dart, the apartment is always very clean and tidy. The kitchen is the best equipped we have ever encountered, so I am able to cook a full meal just as I would at home. You don't even need to use the car - just park in the free parking area behind the apartments and enjoy walks by the river and boat trips to the castle and Dittisham. The steam train will take you to Paignton and of course there are all the lovely shops close to the apartment in Dartmouth itself. We can't wait to come back next year for our tenth stay at No.8 - we will never tire of the view and at night it looks quite magical!

A good place to stay.

A lovely and convenient position to stay and with on-site parking which is rare here. Good views over the River Dart. Very close to town and with an M+S food store just round the corner. Didn't use car for the week but went on boats, trains and buses.
