This thematic apartment with an extraordinarily original character was in the Middle Ages none other than the real MANIERO prison. Originally an ancient fort and military outpost, it had a real prison area that today, after centuries, is instead a unique location in the world where you can spend an unforgettable stay: don't worry, at the end of your stay ... you will be released !
IL CARCERE still retains its historical features: the large entrance door, made of Tuscan cypress, still has the window with the typical cell bars while inside the large studio apartment is divided by the wrought iron security grille which today instead it separates the living area from the sleeping area in an original step back in time.
Even the CARCERE is developed along the fortification of Vicopisano which houses the entire length of the apartment: the medieval walls, with the characteristic loophole that today has become a window overlooking the surrounding countryside, offer a unique background to the location. You can see the overlap of different types of stone to confirm the construction of the fortification walls of Vicopisano in several historical periods: the first layer dates back to the first Roman settlement.

IL CARCERE is composed of a KITCHEN / LIVING AREA and a NIGHT AREA with attached BATHROOM. The Tuscan rustic masonry kitchen is composed of a grit sink, a large counter top and an induction hob: the refrigerator and the dishwasher are located in the wooden recesses of the kitchen where you will also find pans, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster and everything you need to prepare a beautiful Tuscan dinner! The TV corner is housed in the natural niche of the medieval walls to give you a suggestive break. The NIGHT AREA, divided by the wrought iron grille typical of the old prisons, offers an antique king-size bed with a view from the ancient loophole, today a window, on the splendid panorama of Monte Pisano characterized by the suggestive terraces of secular olive trees. A unique detail is the "exposed" wardrobe, made of poor salvaged wood and wire mesh, typical of prison furnishings. IL CARCERE is illuminated by characteristic medieval lanterns that make the environment particularly attractive. The BATHROOM is housed in an old subscale and the door is a further detail in style as it represents the typical prison cell door with a peephole control: the bathroom offers a large shower, toilet and sink made with an old tin tub while the mirror is made on a vintage window.
